stopped for lunch on Tuesday and the staff was great - they were able to give us two different cuts of brisket for my picky mother. there was no line when we entered. there's seating inside and outside.

I went to Luling on a Sunday during the watermelon festival. Most restaurants are closed on Sunday so I didn't have much options to pick from. There was a line which gave me hopes for somewhat good bbq I was wrong! I think in my opinion this is the saddest plates of bbq I've ever eaten in Texas! It was greasy... cold... no real flavor of bbq! Usually no matter how bad the food is I always manage to finish my plate... I just couldn't! This was the fine definition of a trap! I like the old style building and that it is full! But I saw so many plates not being finished! Just like me! Next time I go to Luling for sure I will be in the look for another restaurant that open on Sundays!

Luling Bar-B-Q was a last minute decision for us to swing by for lunch. We were not disappointed! Great moist beef brisket! Good sausage! Must try Pork Ribs!!! I not a stranger to BBQ spots in the great state of Texas. We had the sausage sandwich and a two meat plate. Their Mac and cheese side and coleslaw was alright. But the star of the show was their pork ribs and moist brisket. I would rate them a 5 star if their sides were just a bit more flavorful. The ambiance is clean and cozy. You can tell quite a few locals dine there and the staff were absolutely friendly. If you're in the area you have to swing by! Don't forget to order their pork ribs!

Craving for good Texas BBQ and Lulling BBQ doesn't disappoint. I don't know what happened with folks came before me. The service was awesome. Everyone was friendly. The meat just melted off the bones. Sausage is not overly salty like that mega gas station chain. They are definitely much better than the one in Houston where I had to stand in line during the lunch time to get in. You know what I am referring to.

Locals come here and passer byes stop evidently there was a line. Four people working the counter and have a hard time getting orders rapidly. Sides of Mac&Cheese and green beans taste out of a box. Nothing spectacular about those. Everything's a bit overpriced for the flavor and they put there mustard base sauce on everywhere. I understand meat price have gone up but maybe flavor, food and service shall too. Won't be returning or recommending this to anyone.

The staff were very professional and friendly. I got the two meat plate with chicken, brisket, potato salad and beans. The meat was good and the sides were tasty. The bbq sauce was a delicious semi-sweet mustard sauce. I appreciate the homemade sides as many bbq places don't offer that. There's outside seating, as well.

Solid four stars. So we have a barbecue restaurant with the same name in Houston Texas off of Richmond Avenue near 610. They have very similar barbecue sauce which is orange. However they are not affiliated. The food was really good. Food brisket, sausage, and ribs. The moist brisket was actually very good. I gave that a five out of five. The sausage was about a three out of five. It was pretty good but a little too greasy for my liking. The ribs were excellent. I'll give them a five out of five. The sides were not that great. That was probably the least flavored macaroni cheese ever had in my life. They really need to look at redoing their macaroni and cheese because it's simply not good. One out of five on the macaroni and cheese. The potato salad was decent. The customer service is great. Some real nice good old country folk who know how to treat people. They are very kind and courteous and they make sure you get your food in a timely manner. I will definitely come back and try their food again if I was in the area. Solid four stars

This is the real deal Best bbq in Texas! doesnt hurt eating on the tailgate of my pickup either!

As good as it gets for central Texas BBQ. Everyone runs all over the state looking for the Top 10 joints when all they have to do is drive straight to Luling City Market. Who knows what the secret really is but im told it's the local wood they use. This makes sense because there is a certain ja ne sais quoi that can't be explained. If you are close( within 300 miles) go now. If you are outta state looking to earn your Texas Q deciphering n judging bona fides listen up! Do not miss Luling City Market!!!!! Period

Awesome sausage! Ok brisket (needs sauce). Very good slaw. Surprising beans.

Came here for a very late lunch. It may have been about 3:30pm when I walked in the doors. A couple of folks (owners?) were cleaning up and the place was immaculate in the way of a well loved restaurant that had been around for YEARS and the folks still cared. They were also super friendly and accommodating as they walked me thru the items that they had on time and to give me an idea of what to get. Plus 1 star right there for the great service and friendly folks. The food didn't hit it off for me. There were highs and not so highs. But the value and the experience kind of made up for it. I went with the classic 2 meat plate to try to sample my way around their menu. The main item was brisket. It looked fantastic, but there really wasn't any smoky flavor. It was well cooked and reasonably smooth, but I'm not sure what pit it came out of. I really should have tried some of the sauces because this is the reason that they are made. Good piece of meat, well cooked in need of a bit more flavor. The second meat was the sausage. I wasn't in for the kick so asked for the non-jalapeno version. Yes, I'm a heretic. But this was absolutely a fantastic sausage. If you are a sausage fan, you will love this. Crispy, savory, kick of meaty goodness. I really enjoyed it. The sides definitely had some love in them. I went with the slaw which, for this late, was pretty crispy. Nice crunch followed by that sweet slaw taste. Nice side action there. I also went with the pinto beans. At first I was a bit bored. I thought they were straight out of the can without a lot of flavor. Then the warm glow of a late kick started. Yep, those were fresh and good with a little extra in them. Definitely a good home town, BBQ join with great folks. Meat was hit or miss, but it could have been the lateness in the day.

Not nice! Too bad we won't recommend it! Food is tasty but not worth it! Are y'all Texan? Cause I am and yall ain't right!

The cashier was so incredibly rude! We were passing through after a family vacation. We have never been to Luling nor had we eaten at this restaurant much less get on their website! The cashier ripped my husband a new one, when he mentioned fried okra! She said " Why would you ask that! The new website is up!" When he said we " we aren't from here, we are just passing through." She said " and". Best be glad I didn't hear it! That's just a portion of what she said! Are yall even Texan? Cause I am and Yall ain't right

It's pretty good, not amazing, but good enough, decent sides, good drinks, and good bbq sauce.

We walked into a time warp! 80s wrestling on tv, 50s and 60s music playing on the speakers, old Coke signs on the wall and a framed 8x10 of Kerry Von Erich w/ Iceman King Parsons at the register. They've got an entire back room that looks like someone's grandmas living room from 40 years ago. As cool and interesting as the ambience was, the food was just as amazing. As you might have guessed, it's a themed fancy hot dog restaurant. The dogs themselves are standard sized and delicious I ordered the "Hi Ho Silver" which is topped with cheese, ranch, jalapeño and bacon. My wife has the "Bandstand" which is a chili weiner. Both were served with home fries and both were $4.99. In addition to the weiners, they have burgers, sandwiches and salads. One kiddo ordered the "Wake Up Little Suzy" burger which includes hash browns and a fried egg ON the burger and the other ordered the "Lucy B" salad and they halved it with each other. The owners are a mother-daughter combo and when talking to them (they were very nice) we learned that the cupcakes and lemon bars were also made in house. We also found out why the place has such a goofy name. Seems there's a cartoon from the early 1900s about a "Gentleman Rabbit" called Uncle Wiggily. A relative suggested that as the name, they changed the spelling a little and... BobsYourUncle... restaurant named. I will say the same is perfect. The place is slightly odd, fantastically eccentric and a little goofy. And the food is priced great (family of 4 in and out for under $30) and is delicious. It's totally worth a trip from out of town to Luling just to eat here... and if you're driving through try and time your hunger right. You won't regret it.

I was like, "Um, ok, what's that about?" I got home and looked it up. I found out it was Texan company. Then I decided I wanted to visit the biggest Buc-ee's in the Lone Star State. We landed in San Antonio and rented a car. Thankfully it didn't have a California license plate. We drove to Luling on our way to Austin. We pulled into the Buc-ee's parking lot. We saw the gas prices. Gas in Texas is more affordable than Washington State. Took a photo with the metal critter in front of the entrance then made our way into the store. Spacious, busy. Bathroom was clean. We picked up some brisket sandwiches and some sodas. Food is more affordable in Texas. We also bought some souvenirs to take back home including a red shirt with the beaver.

Restrooms had two hand soap dispensers completely broken, paper towel in the corner on the floors, soda station a mess and not wiped, slushie station a mess, coffee sauces out, empty bottles sitting there, coffee machines dusty with beans all over. Come on Buc-ee's. Is the normal standard not there anymore. No more wow factor anymore? Or getting too big that procedure is being lost in the process? Didn't look like people were working and the ones who were seemed very unhappy and not guest focused. Coming from someone in management for the past 15 years.
