I'd been watching Lumiere Couture Bridal's dresses on my Facebook feed for a while now, maybe 2 years and I always kept Queenie in mind as one of the people to contact for my future wedding dress. What kept me coming back was the Western style gown styles, but they also had the Mandarin collar which harkens back to my Chinese heritage. Last year, Queenie held a Pop-Up Salon in Irvine and I was able to try on her dresses for the first time. It wasn't busy, so, even though I wasn't a bride yet, she let me try on a bunch of dresses. We hit some winners immediately, but since I didn't have any occasion for a formal dress, we left it at that, having had a really fun time to see her dresses up close and personal. And then, we became engaged this year! So, I called up Queenie and she immediately set up a time to try on wedding dresses in earnest. I went in and tried so many dresses, but since it was my first stop, I wanted to take a look at other salons. What I love about working with Queenie is her business motto. Lumiere Couture Bridal is her baby and she wants it to grow as a designer dress salon; at the same time, I can see that she really cares about the happiness of the bride and the fit of the bride with the dress. One month later after visiting other salons and I had a much better view of what I wanted out of my dress, I visited Queenie again to choose my Red chinese style reception dress. I was able to customise a few parts of my mermaid style dress, in addition to the dress color that comes standard with all of Queenie's dresses. Since each dress is made to order, Queenie gives you color options for the lining and the upper layer of lace for your dress. Though she might not have your size in her studio, you will definitely be able to see what different color combinations look like from the samples hanging there. I purchased a pink lace on pink lining, one shouldered dress, which, I absolutely love and look forward to wearing to my engagement shoot. In addition, I ordered a red lace on burgundy lining mermaid style dress to wear during the reception, which will allow me to enjoy my day in comfort while looking very elegant. I was looking for a chinese dress to wear for my chinese american wedding and picked Lumiere because I like the modern qipao style. Queenie was extremely patient during the whole process in dress selection, fitting, and styling. Queenie has an eye for style because not only did I get my Chinese qipao dress there, she also helped me get a overlay skirt of my wedding dress. After showing her pictures of my white wedding dress, she helped me add a skirt that allowed me to do a quick style change on my wedding day. There were a variety of asian inspired dresses at the studio. All the styles were more modernized and you can customized the color, lace, lining, etc. I chose a lace red/gold qipao with a small train. Queenie was super patient about tailoring and fitting. She made sure that it would be comfortable and everything was perfect when I got my dress. Since I lived in San Francisco, she even did one of my fittings in SF when she was in town. Everything turned out perfectly and everyone thought the dress was beautiful. It was so light and easy to move in, that I ended up making it my party dress and danced all night in it at my wedding. I had originally ordered a custom qipao from a different shop and when I picked it up three weeks before the wedding, it looked nothing like the sketches and fit terribly even after the final fitting. My husband and I decided it wasn't salvageable and decided to try and find a store with floor samples for sale. Lumiere was the first company to get back to us out of the multiple inquiries we sent. They were very responsive and and understanding of our situation, squeezing us in for an early appointment. Queenie was phenomenal to work with! Even though she knew I was in a tough position where I'd probably buy any dress that fit, she took the time to ask questions and understand my personal style before showing me the dresses she thought would be the best fit. I ended up being torn between two dresses (which was a happy surprise since I was worried about finding even one.) Once I made my selection, Queenie took my measurements and were able to get alterations done a week before the wedding. I was beyond thrilled with the final outcome. Lumiere made me a Chinese style evening gown (cross between chi-pao and western style evening gown) for my wedding and it was stunning. I got so many compliments and it looks so amazing in pictures! I was looking for a Qi Pao to wear during the ceremony, and Lumiere offers the best custom tailored options to make a glamorous, yet traditional fit. I found out about Lumiere through Instagram and had to see and try on the dresses in person! I am so happy to find out that Lumiere is close to my hometown and where the wedding will be held. I met Queenie via email correspondence in scheduling an appointment. Lumiere bridal collection has the most amazing bridal dresses that are perfect for a hybrid bride like myself (HongKonger from birth till 11 years old, then moved to the U.S.). I knew I wanted to wear a red traditional bridal dress (QiPao) but with a modern western twist. Queenie's dresses is the perfect blend of the two cultures with an elegant and tasteful crossover. I really felt amazing in my red dress and I kept hearing people gasp and commented on how amazing my dress look on my wedding day.
