I went to lunch after church with my sister. We had breakfast. It was very crowded. It is a small place. The servers were so sweet. Did I mention this place fills up quick. It is so worth it. I had the best pancake I've had in a really long time very fluffy and plenty of butter and syrup. If you don't want to talk to the person sitting across from you, you can read all of the fun stuff hanging on the walls. Grubhub will deliver it you can't make it. Bring your family and enjoy. I had never been to "Lumpy's Diner". My DIL has not been feeling well so I offered to buy her a breakfast burrito. She chose this place and she told told me the food was good. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon for myself and my husband. My goodness the burrito was humongous and so good. I loved it and will be going for a sit down breakfast one of this days. Well very disappointed. My order was cold and the bread was at least 3 days out in the air old and hard. However, I paid my full price and left never to return. PS those baked beans were not baked beans, I know microwaved food when I see it. The bowl was so hot I couldn't even touch it, yep that was a microwave. The food content was not enough to make the bowl that hot. Sad part is the owner went out to all my yelp rated food sites and laughed at all my comments. This place has never disappointed me between the chicken sandwiches, Philly cheese steak, biscuits and gravy egg platter, and my latest was a short stack of pancakes with strawberry whipped cream on top. This place is nothing special. There are much better options in the area. My wife and I went there for breakfast today and it was packed. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and the waitress took our orders. I ordered the eggs, toast, hashbrowns, and bacon plate and my wife had the smaller version of it. I asked if I could substitute pancakes for the toast and I was told that they don't do substitutions, and they also stop serving pancakes at noon. Oh well. The food arrived promptly, but the bacon was lukewarm, greasy, and salty. The eggs tasted like they were out of a carton, and the hashbrowns were flavorless. At least the sourdough toast was good. I was too hungry to care. I ate everything, so it couldn't have been that bad, but it was not that great either. The service was good. Everyone we encountered was welcoming and friendly. I also like how much light this place gets and their dedication to Lumpy, the founder of the restaurant. Unfortunately, due to the mediocre food quality, I doubt we will return. Digger's diner in Brentwood is way better, and also reasonably priced. Hell, even Denny's in Antioch is better. read more

I tried it twice via doordash and was disappointed, the food was bland and you can tell it was rushed.

We're new to the area and didn't know Lumpy's,. We actually drove by and saw the sign by accident, I thought any Diner named Lumpy's had to be good so we tried it. When we opened the door (at 11:00 am on a Wednesday) and saw it was full, we knew we made a good decision. We were immediately greeted by our server who had a big smile on her face, seated us in one of the few available booths and got coffee and a menu for us. Within a few minutes she took our order and before we knew it she returned with our order, hot and ready to eat. We are now big fans and will return with family and friends when they visit. So glad we found Lumpy's, it's not often you find a Diner with old school service, generous portions of good food at fair prices....hat's off to the owner and staff at Lumpy's. read more

The food is always good, the packaging is always great. However if you order sauces and they're not included this is a huge let down. Being someone who loves ranch and loves sauce, not getting delivered anything ruins the entire meal. I even paid additional for the sauces that weren't delivered. Everything but the sauces ordered on the receipt were included. Without those the meal is just ok - go to McDonald's and order something that'll be fresh and you get your dips. Father's Day we ordered takeout as my hubby really wanted to try this diner for a while. We all sat down to eat, and when my husband dug into his omelet a long white/blonde hair was pulled out. Totally ruined his appetite and he wouldn't eat the rest of the food. I had a few bites of mine and the kids had some. It had little flavor and wasn't that good anyway. Not sure if I've reviewed LUMPY's. However, all must know I love their breakfast options. My all time favorite is the Kitchen Sink Benedict. But no matter what you select, I know LUMPY's will not disappoint. The portions are hefty and filling. The best part though, are the wonderful servers. They always have a smile and it gives you the vibe of a small town where as if they always see you come in even though they don't. These servers make the diner experience 10/10!!! They deserve a raise, and they deserve no less than 20% tip. I love visiting and wish I was able to visit more often. Cheers to all who work there. read more

More like 3.5 stars! Food was pretty good, menu had a lot of variety. But it's pretty much like any other breakfast place in the area. Inside isn't really that "small" but they have a lot of tables back-to-back so it feels cramped. Service was okay - we had a large party (about 11 adults, 4 kids). We had to wait for tables to be available and our ENTIRE party needed to be there before they would seat us. The waitress forgot to take one of the adults orders and our food was not all ready at the same time.... so some of us were almost done with our meal while others were just getting theirs. "This place Rocks (no pun intended)." Food: Delicious...umm, yeah...it's delicious. We ordered burgers, chicken tenders, burgers, fries, and more burgers. So many variety, hard to decide. All cooked to perfection. We were lucky to be there for their special $0.50 buffalo wings. That alone was amazing (very flavorable - both original and lemon pepper) that we had to order more to go. Service: The waitress was extremely nice and very attentive, especially when we were there with our boys. The wait was not that long from the time we got our drinks to the time we got our burgers...and burgers...and more burgers. lol Overall, I highly recommend this nostalgic, rock n' roll - type of feel, if you're looking for American food to devour. WRONG DECISION!!!!!! Our server was pleasant and wish we could say more for the food. Speaking of such: It was soooo bland I wasn't sure what I was eating. It taste as though everything was watered down, how can you water down a breakfast burrito . I even wanted to like this place, so I gave the coffee a try and I might as well have ordered sugar water after putting the cream in it. We've recently moved close to Lumpys and I have to say we've stopped in here multiple times. I usually get something like a burger but on this trip I wanted some breakfast. We started with the cinnamon roll which was delicious. I got the enchilada omelet with a side of jalapeño bacon. For my bread choice I got a tortilla and damn did I make a solid life choice. If you like a little spice and good food I recommend you give that exact order a try. As you can imagine I made mini burritos and loved evey bite.
