You can sub out your hash brown for cottage cheese if you'd like to keep it 'light' I didn't care much about the cheesy bacon fries tho. =( The ladies that work the place are super cute. Get in early . . we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table since it was PACKED on a saturday afternoon. They stop serving Pancakes, Waffles & Eggs benedict after 12noon. $40 tip included for a party of two with milkshakes each. I went here with my fiance and our friend last night and I was pretty impressed. First, we arrived around 8:20 and I noticed the sign said they were open, but their hours were listed until 8:00. I was about to turn around, but my friend opened the door and the waitress told us to take a seat. Most places would have turned us away! Great service!!! The food was pretty good, I ordered a cheese burger and fries, my fiance is on a diet so he got the chef's salad, and our friend got a philly chicken and garlic fries. They both said theirs were great, my burger was great, but a little under-cooked (hence the -1 star). I'll definitely go back! I had driving by Lumpy's for who know how many times but never had the chance to try it out. We decided to go there for breakfast on Sunday with my daughter and her BF. I don't usually eat out for breakfast, I love my cereals in the morning with BB's. It is not a large place and it is a mall. We were there around 11:00 and had to wait about 20 minutes. The breakfast menu selection is fairly ample and I had their Lump's Everything omelet. It is a large portion that kept me full the whole day until dinner, at least compared to my cereal. The omelet was good with lots of meat and the service was quick and efficient. I would come back and try their burger and garlic fries in the future after reading other reviews. One last thing and that is the coffee, I like strong coffee and their coffee need more work. Will review after trying their burger. read more

We had heard about this restaurant so we went there and decided to take out a couple of California Burgers and some sides for lunch. Ordering was great and the food came fast. These burgers were "huge" and very filling if you can finish it. Very tasty, reasonably priced and nice experience. Next time we'll dine in. read more

Came here because I heard they had funnel cakes! I didn't want to pay to get into Marine World/Six Flags or drive all the way down the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. The fiance also found out that they have a challenge here and a bajillion kind of fries to choose from. I came in on a late afternoon, mid-week and was immediately greeted by a young gal. There were a few folks in there but not busy. I was told to seat myself and was given a menu by a pretty, smiling server. She took my order and returned with a milkshake. "Is this a funnel cake?" She heard 'milkshake', laughed and asked if I wanted it. Oh, sure. It's been ages since I've had a strawberry milkshake. My funnel cake arrived with strawberries and powdered sugar. I can't say it's better than ones at a fair or the other places I already mentioned above. It was a bit over cooked. I didn't finish it all. But I hear so many great things about this place and can't wait to go back and try other items. The service is friendly, prompt and with a great smile. And I didn't get charged for the milkshake. I stopped in for breakfast one morning while i was waiting for my wife to get off work. They were pretty full, so I offered to sit at the counter to keep a table open. I'm glad I did, because I was able to get quicker and more attentive service doing so! I had the biscuits and gravy meal with eggs and bacon. My food came out quick and was very good. The servers were friendly and did what they could to get people what they wanted. If you can stand to wait for a table, this is a great spot to grab a bite. read more

I like Lumpy's for what is is. A cute little diner. They have some pretty good hamburgers. I had the chili cheese burger. I thought it was lame though, that it didn't come with fries. You have to order them separately, but from what i saw ont he other patron's tables, they looked DAMN good. My mom had the tuna melt. It was pretty good. Nice and greasy, which is pretty much what you want =] Not sure if I will be back anytime soon. . . . But it was pretty good. This place is about the most "diner" experience you can get in the area. The place is small and sloppy in a not so much disgusting sort of way, just quantity over quality is what is the vibe here. Many of the locals come here to graze on their gravy while others hold their own and travel more westward to the less gravy filled establishments that begin increasing in quality as you get closer to the metropolitan areas approaching San Francisco. I am going off on a tangent, but anyway, if you need your gravy and loaded hash browns with deep friend "chicken steak" I guess you've come to the right place. We had breakfast here last Sunday and it was delicious. I had the basic eggs bacon toast and hash browns breakfast. My daughter had hot cocoa and pancakes. Everything was fresh and delicious. Good but not great. The interior of this place is great - just like a 50's diner and the service on most days is above average. I've luckly had the pleasure of arriving slightly before or after the rush and have really enjoyed each experience. The burgers are really good and so are the chicken sandwiches. Where Im left wanting better are the fries. They are down right terrible. I've asked for them every which way possible to make them better (smothered w/ chili, crispy, a side of ranch) but nothing helps. When I asked for them cripsy, they still came soggy, limp and greasy. OK, folks... First thing to remember is that this is a DINER... It is not a four-star restaurant in the City, where one can reasonably expect "subtle hints of fresh, organic taragon married blissfully to an aromatic lemon zest creating an overall symphony of bliss in the mouth." It's a DINER. And, in my opinion diners should do three things well to be successful: 1. Provide generous portions of value-priced comfort food (2) deliver said food piping hot and as reasonably fast as possible (3) create a fun atmosphere Lumpy's succeeds admirably in all those three areas. Do they tend to hire "hotties" who turn out to be "haughties?" Yes, and that is a black mark against them. Sometimes it's better to hire a gray-haired, hard-core wait person than someone still in high school who just happens to look good in a Lumpy's T. However, I don't get too bummed out by surly waitresses because, when you go ANYWHERE these days you get piss-poor attitude and indifference. It's either a sign of the times or, more likely, due to the fact that this current Wii-playing, texting, instant-everything generation hasn't developed the chops and patience.needed to perform great customer service. A lot of them also lack work ethic which means that the customer who asks questions gets an eyeroll and sigh because you made more work for them. I agree with the person who said you have to watch your bill- math isn't Lump's strong suit.. My bill has been wrong a couple of times. Again, I think it has more to do with young people freaking out cause they are busy (OMG! I had to actually WORK..LOL we are slammed!) than a conspiracy to suck extra coin out of the customers. All this being said, the food is good... you get BIG helpings.. I always feel full when I leave.. and if you are a car/motorcyle enthusiast, you will meet lots of fun, like-minded characters there. Enjoyed breakfast here. Very reasonably priced, great food, and in particular, I really appreciated the staff. It may seem a small thing, but I was blown away the fact I had one waitress, though the employees were all very relaxed in their coverage. Anyone making rounds to take orders or check in would stop by, to see if I needed refills or wanted anything else. My waitress dropped off my checked, someone else picked it up, and ANOTHER employee dropped it off. The atmosphere is that of a seasoned team that is comfortable with how well they can manage customers, and in my opinion sets this establishment at 5 stars vs four. They are natural at going the extra mile, and it achieves an exceedingly pleasant experience. read more

Having been in the food and beverage business for over 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised to find a local diner doing a lot of things right! From eye contact immediately when you walk in, to seatting courteously, to you're brought a beverage within just a minute or 2 then it's OK to relax.. Everybody's patient, they know the kitchen can get backed up etc. but these 3 introductory things are critical and they make the rest of the experience . Also the talent is well above average. Our waitress happened to be an ex- bar manager and served up a Virgin bloody Mary with a salad bar, ( those of you that are in the beverage business know what I mean), followed by repeated trips to the table, I always taught my staff that a good server is always at the table when you need them and never there when you don't. The food was above average For a short order menu The operation overall went fairly smooth and it's a tribute to management and what, I believe his name was Lumpy, started years ago. Lumpy's what can I say? My review and rating is mainly for the menu item I got which was the Crab Benedict. This one particular item wasn't what I was hoping, but the replacement cheese dog made up for it.. LOL! The overall ambiance noisy but what place isn't on a Saturday morning. The highlight of it all the mimosa I got in the mason jar, reaaaalllyyy good! The crab benedict was the only problem that I had an issue with. Upon receiving my order, I realize that there are lumps of IMITATION crab underneath the really good hollandaise sauce so that was an immediate turn-off because it doesn't taste like the real thing. So I sent my order back because I wasn't fond of eating imitation crab. Looked over the menu and realized that I didn't want to wait too long for another menu item so I went with my first gut choice and that was the cheese dog which was shredded cheese, onions and tomatoes... super basic but really good hot dog. Overall, Lumpy's is really good as far as hot dogs in my opinion until next time where I can try something else and write an updated review later on. read more

The burger was decent, I also ordered onion rings, which are (very obviously) made from frozen. They cost a whopping $6, basically short a dollar of the burger cost. With a soda ($2.29) the bill totalled $16.65. I should have just gone to In n Out. The staff wasn't too friendly, minimal and seemed really rushed as they seemed short during lunchtime. Overpriced, not worth it. Would rather eat Burger King's onion rings. At least they're crispy. Edited: I would have very much liked to add a tip in cash but the cashier was way too in a hurry to allow me to place the tip on the little tray and snatched it away before I had time to realize what was going on. Saturday, 7/17/21 was our visit to Lumpy's Diner/Antioch. We drove there from Union City...(We like to try a new restaurant for Breakfast each weekend). We were given a welcome greeting at the door by the host/server when we entered the restaurant and given choices for our seat selection booth/table. We were seated by our host, who also immediately asked if we would like coffee or something to drink, and provided menus. The menu offered a very nice selection of choices. It was a very large menu...something for every body. I selected the Lumpy's full Breakfast: hot links, 3 eggs, hash browns and toast. The cinnamon roll looked interesting, too. My wife elected an al carte pancake. Our server arrived with a smile to take our order, her name was Gina. We asked her a couple of questions and then placed our order, including the cinnamon roll. She was very friendly and it became very easy to engage in a conversation with her. We noticed all the wait staff was helping each other out at all the tables. Our order came out promptly. The first thing we noticed was the generous portions, particularly the hot links. The prices were very reasonable. The hash browns were nice and brown and everything was tasty. My wife was very happy with her pan cake. Gina brought the warmed sugar free syrup to to table for the pan cake. All the servers made sure we had hot coffee refills throughout our breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our total dining experience. Thank you to Gina, the cooks, and entire staff at Lumpy's for our excellent breakfast experience. We hope to be back soon.... We decided to stop at lumpys diner because they were having there Saturday night graffiti night. The cars and bikes were awesome. The food was great too. I ordered the buffalo burger and it was huge. It wasn't that spicy either. My girlfriend ordered the BLT and she said it was good also. The burgers don't come with fries you have to order them seperate and one order is enough for 2 people. I love the garlic fries! The décor is pretty much like your standard diner with pictures of bikes and old cars. The wait staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Finally, a real diner! Lumpy's has the "traditional" diner options with biker sized portions. Their Eggs Benedict is spot on perfectly sauced, not drowning. Delicious, real bacon not that dried out "healthy" stuff some places like to pass off as bacon. Everything is served fresh and hot. Their kids menu is perfect and they even have kid cups! Our first trip there was when my son was about 9 days old and we were tired of hospital food, fast food, and microwaved stuff. Lumpy himself came out and said, "That is the tiniest baby we've ever had in here!" and gave my son his own little Lumpy's onesie. Their staff definitely takes a cue from their boss - All their staff is friendly and attentive, treating each customer like family. No wonder they have so many regular patrons. Great service. The diner was full on a Friday morning but they got us in and the food came quick and was hot. Our waitress was so attentive even though she had ten other tables. She kept checking on us and bring us our requests. Her name was Grace. The only thing is they could use less oil on the veggie scramble I ordered. There were so many varied reviews of Lumpy's that I had to try it for myself. First off, I just notified Yelp that 5891 Lone Tree is in BRENTWOOD and NOT Antioch and that the zip code for this address is 94513 and NOT 94531. But with all having been said, I had a GREAT experience at Lumpy's yesterday (4/16) for lunch. I grew-up in the 50s and 60s (I'll be 64 in a few months) so I have a true appreciation for what "true diner food" is all about....especially burgers! I arrived around noon. There were quite a few people there, but it wasn't packed. The atmosphere was perfect and the wait staff were all friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and was told to seat myself, which was fine. I received an extensive menu within a couple of minutes of sitting down and my drink order was taken almost immediately. I decided to order a strawberry milkshake....something I hadn't indulged myself in, in probably close to 2 years as I'm trying to watch my caloric and fat gram intake. I had my milkshake in probably 5 minutes. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a basket of their onion rings. At $4.50 for the onion rings, I thought it was a bit pricy but thought I'd give it a shot nonetheless. All things being subjective: The bacon cheeseburger was one of THE BEST and most succulent burgers I've had in more years than I can count, hands-down! I asked for it to be rare (if possible), and that's exactly the way it came out! It was flavorful, juicy, and a perfect mix of toppings. AWESOME! Their beer battered onion rings were well worth the price and perfectly deep-fried, and you get quite a basket full of them. I actually got down to the last 3 or so in the basket and just couldn't eat anymore! The ONLY somewhat negative thing I can say, and again it's only a subjective observation or preference on my part, is that the milkshake was way too thick and couldn't be consumed with a straw the way it SHOULD be; I literally had to eat it with the long spoon that was provided, even though it did come with a straw. A somewhat thick shake is always appreciated (in order to separate it from a container of flavored milk and to show that it's made with real ice cream), but this was taken to a whole new level. I'll go with water or a soda the next time around even though the shake had great flavor! Lumpy's Diner on Lone Tree DESERVES a 5-Star rating in my opinion, so if you've never been there before, you truly owe it to yourself to give it a shot! read more

The service was good but unfortunately the food wasn't. We had chicken wings, Cajun fries, fish & chips and a kids meal for my daughter. The chicken wings were really oily, the Cajun fries had too much seasoning on it that it wasn't edible, and the fish was too moist on the inside and it didn't taste fresh. Definitely will be back! We were seated in 15 minutes which is great for Sunday at noon. I had to try the cinnamon roll ($2.50) which was gooey and smothered in icing and surprisingly not overly sweet. Also ordered the Buffalo bleu cheeseburger ($6.29) and I'm hooked! Buffalo sauce and blue cheese are amazing with the onion rings in this thing. Fries are not included which always irritates me but when my garlic fries ($2.79) came it was easily forgiven. This had to be the most garlic I've ever witnessed on fries like a mountain of chopped and whole cloves. Two days later and I still smell like garlic. Unfortunately, my husband steak and eggs was over cooked and when they replaced it immediately it was still over cooked.
