I really love going here.. or been quite some time since I've been so today I was. I would have given a 5 star buuut.... The bar room was offered and based on our experience of a live band or good music we chose of our area. Unfortunately, the service ( if there was any) was non existent . We sat there for more than 10 minutes. No one asked us a question. Came to check on us or anything. They watched us. Do you have a food return to the dining room with menus and hand and no one attempted to see what was going on There were only two other couples sitting in the room. It was almost empty. We wound up moving back to the dining area because we plan to have tea and coffee. Once we or seated in the main dining area, the service was stellar. They checked on its regularly. We got water immediately. They took our order within 3 to 5 minutes that continue to check on us throughout the meal refilled our beverages. It is regularly crowded there the beautiful world that room is covered by direct sunlight from the windows that show you the waterfront there's plenty of seating, the music is loud enough to enjoy but low enough to have conversation and enjoy your meal simply perfect I got my favorite the crab sand, which is at market price and delicious. My husband had a jumbo shrimp scrambled that comes with bacon and avocado, and it was delicious. I adore this restaurant and I really enjoy the fact that they've started covering the outdoor patio area so you don't have direct Son. It's a perfect place to enjoy a good Saturday or Sunday brunch with friends and family. It's always have fun. Honestly, the experience was lukewarm at best. This has not been my first time at Monica's. Parking is abundant and the San Joaquin is right there, the big windows, I will admit, are an excellent touch to highlight the view. The service was okay, our waitress checked in periodically and ensured if we needed anything. Now, with this in mind, I do not feel that the quality of the food and the price reflect one another. This is all pretty standard breakfast food but for double the price you'd get at a regular breakfast diner. I understand that maybe prices need to be adjusted higher due to the placement of the restaurant, but I'd rather eat at a restaurant that has a lack of scenery and outstanding food than vice versa. Honestly I think the a detail about the food I disliked the most was the mimosa. A bottle of $10 sparkling white wine accompanied with a splash of guava and cranberry juice for two people... wrong alcohol for a mimosa, tiny juice additions, AND for the price of $30.... As a person who loves a good mimosa, this was honestly not the best light to this restaurant. As I stated previously I have eaten at Monica's before and did not write a review because usually I want to try a restaurant at least two/three times before creating an opinion. After eating this last time, it was the same experience as the first two times. I'm so disappointed to write this review, but Monica's has been declining over the past few years. At this price point, the food shouldn't feel thrown together. Attention to detail seems to be lacking, especially with to-go orders, so be sure to check your bag before you leave. My French toast breakfast was missing the French toast, and they also forgot most of the condiments. To make matters worse, no one answers the phone, making it impossible to get the issue resolved. In this economy, when you spend more than $200 on breakfast for your family, you expect better service, better food quality, and an order that's complete. 1-Star Review I will never return to Monica's Riverview after this experience. I paid my bill with my debit card, and afterward I discovered that I was charged more than the amount shown on my receipt. I did not authorize an additional tip. What makes this even worse is that I contacted the restaurant about the unauthorized charge, and they have not made it right. A restaurant should never add money to a customer's bill without their permission. I have my original receipt and bank transaction showing the difference, so I have documentation of exactly what I was charged. I also left a cash tip. This is completely unacceptable and has destroyed any trust I had in this business. Customers should check their receipts and bank statements carefully after eating here. I will be disputing the unauthorized amount with my bank and will never spend my money at this restaurant again. read more

This is a fake boujee place in which the service and cleanliness is comparable if not worse than a dennys with inflated prices. Our waiter didn't check on us for refills or anything else after we got our food, there was someone else that did once it may have been the manager, any other time we needed something we literally had to flag someone down. The waiter also picked up a fork that fell on the floor and then just put it back on the table and never brought a new clean one, we had to ask her. I got the big ass French toast which honestly was just a big ass disappointment . It was three pieces of bread with a thick hard crust that was hard to cut through. They were not big, more ass than anything . The flavor was fine but it was cold. The bathroom by the bar was clean and stocked but that area got cut off due to an event. The other bathroom had no toilet paper in ANY stall except for one in which the toilet paper dispenser was empty but there was a roll sitting on top of the toilet seat. We were passing it around between stalls like a game of hot potato. The soap dispensers were empty and there was a soaking wet roll of paper towels on the counter. Dine in experience for my bday brunch let's get into it ! Me and mines have been wanting to try this place for a while and based off of reviews, we knew to make a reservation which we did , or try to do lol. We called them and they said they were not taking reservations. You had to come in since they are very busy. We got there and put our name on the list. They said 30 minutes so we went back to our car to wait. It was about 45 to 50 minutes when we decided to call them and ask where our place was in line they said there was one person ahead of us and then sure enough we got the text saying it was time for us to be seated . as we got inside I noticed a few other people complaining about the same thing so I would say lack of attentiveness when it comes to seating the guests even though it is very busy I will not take that away from them. So we finally got seated. I got my bloody Mary first. It looked different but tasted great. We all ordered our food together . two plates came out before mines. I thought people were supposed to eat together not separate so I had to wait for my food to come. Also, they came out with one plate wrong they instantly were able to fix it, which lets me know they have bacon or sausage sitting under a heater because they came out so fast with the bacon that was supposed to be on the plate instead of the sausage . eventually, I get my plate . now I will say the food is good. My crab Benny was full of crab meat didn't taste fishy. They accommodated the sides that I asked for with no problems. My man got the surf and turf Benny, which was very good. I definitely want to try that again. The sauce on there is amazing. His son got the breakfast combo with two fried eggs, a waffle and bacon with strawberries on top but when it came out there were no strawberries and sausage patties instead , they kindly fixed it. Overall, I would try them again. My waitress was nice. The vibes inside were cool. I've heard they have live music sometimes but today they didn't . They also gave me a complimentary birthday shot on the house ( candy shot , taste like watermelon warheads if you know you know ) overall expect a wait for your table and don't be afraid to check in with them since it is so busy, but I definitely would give them a try. I came here for the first time today and had a pleasant experience. Our group was on the larger side but we were still seated quite fast. Our server was polite and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. There is outside seating that's cozy as well. Our food didn't take too long to come out but mine was lukewarm. I cannot speak for other people in our group though. They were also out of the maple flavoring needed for a maple latte, but that wasn't a huge deal. This is one of the only nicer restaurants in town and I often will bring my friends here for brunch or bar activities. Again, for Antioch/Pittsburg, there's not too many options so we do come here whenever we want to drink. I like their outside seating and bar areas. The reason for the lower stars is actually due to 2 reasons. First is the cleanliness. In their main eating area, the walls are disgustingly covered with scuffs, dirty food stains, and God knows what else. When we were sat down in a booth this morning, March 22nd, it smelled so bad we asked to be moved outside. Additionally, the inside of their windows were covered with handprints and other marks. At 11am on a Sunday. When I went to the bathroom the toilet in the first stall was not even properly straight, 2 out of 3 bathroom stall locks didn't operate properly, and the only bathroom that had a working lock had a disgusting toilet. One out of 2 faucets worked and the trash was overflowing. I don't know why their restaurant is so dirty. It wasn't like this when we visited a few months ago but this is gross and absolutely not ok for a restaurant. The second reason is due to their smaller portions. I last visited here in the fall of 2025 and then again today. I can confidently say their portions have gotten smaller but prices are still very high. I understand that costs have increased, but my meal was eggs, potatoes, and toast. It's not like I was ordering their steak. A breakfast plate shouldn't cost me $30. Since I got a drink too, my total was $50+ for a breakfast food plate and a drink. I want to support local businesses, that's why I always eat here when we go for breakfast. I can't justify these costs long term, again, for breakfast foods. read more

Monica's Riverview had a really nice atmosphere, and our server was honestly one of the best parts of the experience -- very sweet, patient, attentive, and always smiling, which we appreciated a lot. As for the food, it was overall just okay. For the price point, we expected a lot more flavor and quality. Most dishes were pretty bland and didn't really live up to the hype social media gives it. The highlights for us were the crab sandwich and clam chowder -- my dad especially enjoyed those and said they were really good. The patty melt was also solid, with nicely smoked beef, and the albacore tuna sandwich tasted fresh and decent. Bruschetta was ok also. We felt like it had too much sauce. The Chicken Marsala unfortunately tasted very plain, almost like hospital food, with little flavor. The seafood ravioli looked much prettier online than it did in person, and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't memorable either. The pesto fries mostly tasted like garlic fries since we couldn't really taste the pesto, and the garlic fries themselves were just okay -- honestly, Super Duper's garlic fries are way better in our opinion. Overall, nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out enough to justify spending around $300. It just didn't match the expectations social media created for us. read more

This restaurant is, indeed, located by a riverside and has both indoor and outdoor covered dining. Even though we found our location what seemed to be near capacity, we were directed toward our table without delay. The customer service and the presentation of our meals earned 4 of 5 stars. The Bacon and Blue burger was good as well was the Rancher sandwich. However, the prices for our choices only seemed to match our food's presentations. The highlight and overall recommendation of our lunch had to have been the Garlic Fries. Monica's Riverview offers two side of a coin so to speak whereas we only partook one side during our visit. Although the view of the Delta was nice it was NO WAY NEAR the experience we expected. The beer I ordered was Lukewarm at best and the barkeep seemed to be inattentive. We ordered a Patty Melt and it took almost 30 minutes to get. Once arrived, the bread was hard as a rock and the meat cold and way over cooked. No silverware, napkins or condiments were offered. We had to go to other tables to get ketchup and Mustard and had to ask for napkins. The price was outrages and I feel insulted the cooks would EVEN send this food out! I was really excited to try this place. I've been seeing it all over my social media and I love to show support to local businesses. My family and I decided to have Mother's Day brunch here and unfortunately I don't think we'll be back. We expected there to be a decent wait time, being that it was a Sunday and Mother's Day. We waited 3 hours to be seated and another hour for our food. We were placed at the back of the restaurant and were even serviced after people who were seated after us. Our server only checked on us to take our order, bring us our food, and bring us our check when prompted. We asked for napkins and to go boxes that never came that we had to get ourselves. My husband couldn't eat his food that was packaged to go because of how long it took to receive it. We also received our appetizer after our main meal. When the bill came there was an automatic gratuity added, which truly wasn't a problem. I totally understand restaurant procedure of large parties, but for the lack of service we received..... I could forgo everything if the customer service was there and it wasn't. I love to support and highlight individuals for their amazing service, hard work, and dedication. Food As a vegan, my options were limited. I ordered The Vegan, which is made with mushroom, red bell pepper, yellow squash, onion, and fresh spinach, atop diced red potatoes. I ordered a side of dry sourdough toast. The food was good, though I would have preferred the potatoes on the side so as to maintain the crispy texture. I loved that the potatoes had the skin, which boosts the nutrient density. This place may become a regular. I will return and ask for the potatoes to be on the side, or maybe I will try their avocado toast, which is the only other vegan option on the menu. Service I arrived minutes after Monica's had just opened. From the moment I entered, the service was impeccable. I was greeted immediately at the door and seated within seconds. Following that, Julio, the waiter, came by and offered a warm welcome. He gave me a few minutes to make my selection. After that, he returned promptly, ice water in hand, and took my order. My food was delivered in about 15 minutes. Ambiance This restaurant is located in an idyllic setting. On the brink of the Sacramento river, the view is gorgeous. I made a reservation online for 8:00 PM and showed up on time, only to find the staff already cleaning up and getting ready to close. When I showed them my reservation confirmation, a lady came out and apologized, which I appreciated. What I didn't appreciate was being asked if I had called ahead. Why would I need to call ahead when I already had a confirmed reservation? Calling wouldn't fix the real issue, which is their system allowing customers to book times that they apparently can't honor. It's frustrating to make plans around a reservation, drive there, and then be turned away. If you're not able to serve customers at certain times, those times shouldn't be available for booking in the first place. read more

Came here for my Mom's birthday. We made a reservation for 13 and they sat us promptly. Lovely location nestled atop the marina; it was nice watching the boats pass us by. Rustic interior. Service was swift and warm; our waitress was wonderful! Food came out in a timely manner and everyone in our party was satisfied. My mom had the Louie Salad with shrimp and it was so fresh and succulent. I had the Surf n' Turf Benny -- generous portions of crab and sirloin steak with 2 jumbo shrimp -- DELICIOUS! The drinks are nice and the atmosphere is pretty laid back even when it's busy. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a beautiful view of the delta. I have been here multiple times now, becoming a go-to when seeing mother in law in Antioch. It's on the water and a really cute atmosphere. First time we went on a weekday. We got a server in training and he gave it his all and did his best to give good service despite it being his first or second shift. I got the steak sandwich (so delicious) and Mom enjoyed her French toast. Second time we included the husband and went on a weekend. It was definitely busier but they sat us on the back patio which was nice. Pretty good canopy and umbrella coverage from the sun. They were actively setting up the weekend outdoor taco station, gotta try that next time. There was a musician playing in the bar and they opened up the folding doors so we could hear it outside. I got the mozzarella and pesto burgers (I think it's the godfather) and it was exactly what I was in the mood for. We had the repass for my mother's funeral on June 24th. Let me say that the service was exceptional. The week before, Jorge, our caterer had us come in for a food tasting. The food was excellent, but Jorge's attention to detail was impeccable. On the day of service, we were greeted by Jorge and his staff. Our family and guests were served to their specifications. We asked for a bit more cooking time on the sliders and they obliged. What was great about Monica's is that you aren't up charged for the space. You are specifically paying for the food, which they cook as you go. Meaning, as your party eats certain items, Jorge and crew replenishes the servings of that item. That way your food is hot and always fresh and not sitting g out for minutes or hours. Along with the food price were water, coffee, tea, and soda. Everything is delicious on this menu and it's perfect for whatever you're in the mood for from burgers,sandwiches,soups to salads and the bar menu is even better.
