Everything was great until check out and I was informed about future service's that are due. Just for 4 service the complete cost would be over a $1000.00 That was enough to ruin my day! When I arrived the interior of the building had a foul smell, a bit like sulfur or rotten eggs. It was localized to the service desks. Customer service at this location is less than ideal. When politely asked for a status update, the staff appear to act as if this request was a hardship. One staff member on the service department responded with a sigh asking if someone else could give me the status update. Apparently, operating a keyboard to look my name up on the list is extremely difficult. Another staffer replied that because I had arrived early for the appointment, they will not attempt to squeeze me in any earlier. Yet another told me to direct all inquiries to another desk, as it was simply not his responsibility. The vehicle is still sitting in the lot three hours after I arrived, unserviced. While stepping out for sone fresh air, I was followed by another staffer, who asked why I was here. When I informed him that my vehicle was being serviced, he left. I can't tell if he saw me as a security risk or water to sell me a vehicle, however, it did make me feel uncomfortable. read more

This place is a complete joke. We bought a new car here and it was supposed to include the sealant. They forgot to do it then charged us when we brought it back. Then they "forgot" to give us our second key and we made two trips when they said it was here but it wasn't either time. Tried calling service department for 2 days... I got a hold of someone in the afternoon on the first day but he wouldn't schedule me...He asked me to call back the next day to schedule service... Same story no answer.. I called sales to make sure I had the right phone number. Let them know I couldn't get ahold of anyone they let me know they are on the other side of the building... He offered to write down a note... As I said. No that's okay. He hung up... I was going to ask if coming in person was a better idea... But given he hung up mid sentence... I scheduled an appointment at beaverton toyota in about 5 minutes... I have taken my vehicle once before where they didn't write down I needed an oil change... I had to get it done elsewhere as I had a few thousand miles I was putting on the vehicle. Generally I only write reviews if the service is completely terrible consitently... apparently they have a new system for service. Went in for an oil change today. simple enough. The technician said the company paid a lot for the new program so the experience is more personable or something. after checking in with the first guy I drove up and sat there for 10 min then a different guy came and said he was helping my technician and did the walk around. Then pointed out my service advisor. After waiting 45 minutes which is ok not great but ok. The advisor whom I still hadn't met called my name. I went up to him and he asked me if I read the report in the text he sent me and I said no. said the speel of what my car needed and then kind of rudely said if you would've looked at the text you would know. um no thank you. I've been going there for 6 years for my oil changed and this is my first experience with the new system for better customer service and I say NOPE it was better before. read more

Had car serviced yesterday to replace shark fin. Technician was horrible. Trashed interior of car and did not seal the antenna to car. The technician never came out to address concerns with me about what needed to be done to properly afix part to car. If this part was put on so poorly, I hope the oil change will not be a problem. The "service representative was poor also. Coldly says go to a body shop we can't fix this and then charges me $500 for a poor job. They NEVER answer the phone either. I'll never go back! read more

I live about an hour south of this dealership. I made an appointment for 9:00 a.m. for an oil change, and to have my rear hatch checked out. The day before my appointment, I received a confirmation text for my appointment but it said 10:30 a.m. instead of 9. I didn't have a chance that day to call them, but I did call as soon as they open at 8:00 a.m. on the day of my appointment. In 3 attempts I was unable to get through to confirm the time change. Each time I got a message that no one was available to take my call. So I left at 9:30 to drive to Warrenton. Upon arrival, I was informed that I had missed my appointment (which as it turns out 9:00 was the correct time). The person I spoke to said that I had two appointments - one for the oil change and a separate one for the hatch. Nothing about this was mentioned when I made the original appointment. I was told that they could check out the hatch, but that I would need to schedule the oil change for another day. This made no sense. If I had 2 appointment, why weren't two texts sent? And why do I need two appointments for a single visit? The net effect is that I drove an hour each way for nothing. It's a longer drive, but in the future I will go back to the Toyota dealer in Hillsboro where I have previously received great service. read more

Toyota gives free service for 2 years when you buy a new vehicle. This is set up to get you in the habit of going to the dealer for work and future money for the company. I look forward to a free car wash and vacuum, which is something I can't get at a generic mechanic. If Lum's is not going to provide that service, why would I bother? They said their washer was 15 years old and hard to get parts. Well, I suggest you spend some of your millions in profits to upgrade your machine because there are probably other older folks like me who will go elsewhere. I inherited a vehicle that was sold to my Boss' 76 year old wife who had a revoked license and suffered from Dementia (because she had a licensed driver with her). Although they put her husband's name on the loan as well, he did not give permission and had no idea of the purchase until after the fact. I ended up being the only person that drove the car regularly. They sold her every warranty and platinum care extra. It was a showroom limited model for the sticker price of around $32,000. Ending up being a $42,000 wih all the extras. The calipers froze up and I tried to address it right away. I was sent away and told nothing was wrong. It was hardly ever driven so five years later when it became my car it only had 25,000 miles. I had personally brought it in for every service without fail. I drove it with great care. I took it in again because the breaks were acting up. By this time I not only had to deal with the pads, but needed new rotors calipers etc. The platinum warranty would not cover anything but the caliper part cost. I had to pay the labor and all other parts despite it being fallout from an issue I had tried to address when it happened (I did not know it was the calipers until the breaks went out). I've personally purchased 3 cars from them. My mother 5 cars and my grandparents were loyal customers for at least 30 years who bought new cars every few years. I was treated with absolutely no respect and the finance person was extremely rude and basically looked down her nose at me and applied lotion to her hands the entire time I was in her office (instead of bothering to look up any information on my issue or even trying to verify I had brought it in previously). NEVER AGAIN! I AM ASHAMED I EVER GAVE THEM MY BUSINESS AND SO WOULD MY GRANDPARENTS BE. read more

I just took my car in for my first service. When I arrived they were ready for my car. I was in and out in 46 minutes. The waiting room is comfy, they have water popcorn as well as items for sale to snack on. I was extremely happy with how quick every thing was. Also Nick Brown ( the guy at the service desk ) was totally pleasant. The only down side, and I am not even sure this is a down side is, I am use to having my car washed and vacuumed when I have it serviced. It was pouring rain today so I see the skip in not washing, but we live at the coast so a lot of dirt accumulated. But that my not be a service that offer so no harm no foul. The antenna broke off on my 2011 Dodge Durango, the Parts Department order me a new one. When I picked it up the gentleman from the Parts Department offered to put it on for me. Unfortunately there was a piece of the screw stuck in the antenna receiver end. He took me to the Service Department advised them I needed to be scheduled with them to have the broken screw removed and the antenna installed. The service technician advised me they could not remove the small piece of broken screw and would need to order the part that the antenna screwed into at a cost of about $150 and it would take two hours to install. I believe shoptime is about $135 per hour. For a total cost of approximately $450 not including the antenna which I already purchased for $25 and change. When I questioned the need to make such an expensive replacement and inquired as to why they could not just remove the screw the tech in the Service department indicated this was not possible. I told the service tech to hold and returned to the parts counter and spoke with them. He stated I could try to remove the broken screw myself but if unsuccessful the antenna unit may need to be replaced as suggested by the service tech. Here is my complaint before asking me to spend $450 why could someone in service not try to remove the screw? I have found through past experience Lum's service department to be rather expensive. I was quoted over $700 to replace the sway bar in this vehicle and that it would take 6 weeks to get the parts. I took it to another repair shop, had an appointment the next week and the cost was about $260. I could share additional situations that are similar but I don't think anyone is ready to read a dissertation. I sometimes think I am getting the expensive end of the stick and am not sure if it is because I am a woman and over 60. The end result of the antenna saga is my brother-in-law use his pocket knife and in about 5 minutes had the piece of broken screw removed and I installed my antenna. Sure beats paying $450. I really appreciated the parts department's suggestion. I did not appreciate the negative responses from the service department. I asked twice why they could not remove the broken piece and install the antenna and was told that that could not be done. That was all reasoning I was given. Upon arriving for my 9 am appointment in service department...and one greeted me in the garage. I sat there waiting for an attendant to acknowledge me or instruct me to check in inside...nothing from no one. I went inside to inquire what the process for my appointment is, on check in was brief and not very personable. It was not as though being to busy was the issue. The guy in the express service Center was honest and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. As a traveling nurse from Florida this is very rare. I always go in and tell them this is what I want and before you do anything you will let me know what you think needs to be fixed then give me a price estimate. He estimated $80 and when I was checking out he said I quoted you $39 too much. Honest place to get your car serviced. I would definitely go back. read more

Definitely a 5 star dealership! We came almost 100 miles from Portland area to buy a new car from Lum's. No dealer in the Portland area could find the model and color we were looking for, Lum's managed to secure a car on the production line at the factory that was destined for Idaho. Not only was every aspect of our purchase transaction perfect, for a minimal fee (unreasonably minimal in my opinion) they handled all the paperwork (titling, license, etc.) for us to sell our existing car to our niece and gave her the same white glove treatment like she was buying the car from them, not us. That was a Godsend since DMV offices are closed due to the pandemic. In every aspect, our dealings with Lum's were handled efficiently and courteously. Great people to do business with. read more

Horrible service department watch out for their scams. I went in to get an electrical issue fixed and they called me back 20 minutes after I left the dealership to ask what I came in to get fixed after I had already explained to them prior to bringing my car in, and again when I handed them the keys. They then tried to scam me to buy a new key saying my current key was shaved and falls out of the ignition, after listening to incompetent workers that were lying to my face, I then went to a locksmith in Seaside who told me my keys were in very good condition and that it was in fact the ignition that needed to be replaced. read more
