As a single woman traveling I was nervous I was going to be taken advantage of by a shady repair man 200 miles away from home. To my pleasant surprise the shop is run by women! Instead of doing the oil change properly, their technician chose to vacuum the oil out because removing the undercarriage cover would "take too long." We relied on their expertise and trusted they knew what they were doing. The car was driven a short distance after the service and seemed fine. The next morning, however, it started misfiring immediately and was clearly unsafe to drive. The vehicle remained parked until it could be evaluated, and was eventually towed to a certified mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed a missing camshaft seal and advised that this type of failure is consistent with improper oil extraction using suction equipment and would not occur during a standard oil change. We paid $613.79 in repairs, plus the original $97.95 oil change. We made multiple attempts to contact the shop (calls and email). Eventually, their claims manager called on 3/25/2026 and denied the claim solely because they didn't get to inspect the vehicle first--ignoring the fact that the car was unsafe to drive and that we didn't even know they caused the issue until after a professional diagnosis and repair. At this point, it's not just about the damage, it's about accountability. Cutting corners for convenience caused real damage, and they've refused to take responsibility. We are now pursuing this through small claims court. Use caution. An oil change shouldn't result in engine damage.

Warning: Two serious safety failures on one visit. Read before you bring your car here…read more I had multiple services done at TJ's. When I got home, I noticed a transmission fluid leak. A second shop found that both the CVT drain and fill plugs had been left finger-tight, not torqued at all, and fluid was leaking. Had I not caught it, I'd have been looking at a very expensive transmission failure. On the same visit, TJ's replaced my front control arm bushings. The same second shop found that the ball joint, right next to where TJ's had been working, had a completely missing boot, no grease, and was starting to move laterally. This is a hazard that TJ's never mentioned to me. When I raised the issue, TJ's told me to file a NAPA warranty claim. I did. NAPA denied it because the ball joint was an original part TJ's never touched. In my view, this was a deflection, not a solution. The ball joint issue remains unresolved. Repair quotes for the fix were running $450-$600, adding even more potential cost on top of what I already paid. I'd think carefully before bringing your car here.

Mark's Auto Service gets all the stars!…read more I've been on a road trip for three weeks now, and after a mishap with my wheel a couple weeks ago, I've been a bit paranoid and called Mark's shop to check out a new slightly burned rubber odor. His incredibly helpful daughter scheduled me for the following morning, and Mark stopped what he was doing to look at my car. Fortunately, nothing was wrong and he said it was probably the catalytic converter of either my car or a car ahead of me since we were hauling up a mountain on route 26. He even invited us to take a look under the car to see what happened after my wheel flew off a couple weeks before. His third party opinion that everything was good with the car, and echoing that the tires and rotor and all pieces were sound for the rest of my road trip was very encouraging. Plus, he and his daughter were just very kind people, and we chatted about life and family for a while afterwards. Highly recommend Mark's service!
