Luna Cycle was recommended to me by my friend for the Sur-Ron. I went to Luna Cycle to test ride and see if this e-bike is a good fit for me. Man, it sure was! Luckily, they had two Sur-Rons with anime wraps they used for a photo shoot that were available for sale during the day of my visit. For sale at no extra charge with the wraps, I opted to get one so that I didn't need to go on the wait list and wait till November to get one. "I know this is why you came over here." -Ramsey. The only truer words that can be said are in the Bible. Lol - Explained how the Sur-Ron works - Helped with the online purchase for in-store pick up - Helped find a fairly local Harbor Freight (Downey) that had the Haul Master bike rack in stock. I went and got one there the same day since the Yakima Dr. Tray I use for the mtn. bikes couldn't safely haul the Sur-Ron. - Helped providing an extra adjustable wrench and helping hand so that I can tighten a bolt on the rack to secure it onto the hitch (note to self, get an extra wrench!) - Helped load the Sur-Ron onto the bike rack. - Stayed after hours to help out make sure everything was cool with the Sur-Ron and new bike rack so that it's safe for the haul home. Worse yet, the customer service tried to make it my fault since I wasn't excited to spend hours fixing it myself and buying new tools for the job. LunaCYcle was very hard to do business with. some of the sales people super pushy, Tony was a total sob. they expected me to pay with a cashiers check or money order! very poor shipping (Ebike was not padded with anything and got smashed up. ). They made me send countless photos, and wouldn't accept the bike returned, with request for an undamaged one. they were incredibly slow to mail me the parts that were broken due to poor shipping. dealing with them was the opposite of Amazon. Hassled all the way, countless emails , slow responses, requests for photos, unanswered phone calls, poor communication , zero professionalism. Buyer beware! Hands down the worst company EVER. EVERY single item failed. Items were missing from order. Items were dead on arrival. 1st battery failed within weeks. It would not charge. Ordered a 2nd battery to use while they repaired the 1st and it would not charge the very 1st time I used it. Both batteries were returned, but they never repaired, replaced, or refunded my money. Ignored my calls and emails and tried to keep both batteries AND my money! Had to dispute with Paypal because these clowns tried to keep the batteries and my $1800. They are thieves and liars. Fake positive reviews that's their friends leaving reviews , this company is a joke, rude costumer service all the staff is rude new X2 is falling apart, shaped chain on first ride, then stopped powering up, no one test ride this bikes before being built, they chins built stuffed in a box shipped to your door, warranty is none existent and you wait till they respond and they make you fell that your lucky to be helped. I have built 2 bikes with their components. The first build went great got 2000 mi out of it The 2nd one not so much the bike would not carry a load without cutting out after several hundred feet. They recommended a new controller $100 it made the bike work but under pedal assist only no throttle. They said try the throttle from the working bike. It failed to and then it wouldn't work on the good bike. Now I have 2 bikes that don't have a throttle but they do have pedal assist. The whole experience has been very frustrating. I bought their new 52v battery to go on the 48v bike with the new controller. So I now have about $600 in paper weights. So I am not happy. Thought about buying one of their bikes but there is no warranty at all but they will sell you one for 6 mths for $250. Seems like they don't trust themselves to do a good build. They help was pretty good online and they did give lots of suggestions but so far nothing has help. I'll go somewhere else for a new bike and a new rebuild read more

I ordered one of their new wolf 52v battery packs and although it works fine, the casing looks really messed up and I contacted them to make it right. Right under the surface of the casing it has some sort of cracking or bubbling and looks really bad. Other than that, the battery I ordered was supposed to be the clear liquid version and they sent me the smoke liquid one. They said they couldn't replace it because they don't take returns for lithium products, and that they couldn't even give me store credit or a partial refund since the battery works. They also denied having multiple liquid battery styles even though I can easily find the different styles online. I worked so hard on my e-bike build and it looks flawless except for this big ugly scar on the otherwise good-looking battery. At roughly $600 this was a pretty big purchase for me and I would expect them to care that I was not happy with my purchase. This really bums me out and I wanted to like this company and continue buying from them in the future but will not at this point. read more

Could not have dealt with a more horrible company. You will regret it if you buy anything from here. Long story short, made mistake by choosing the pick up option instead of the delivery. Instead of offering to deliver it and make an exception for a couple dollars , they chose to cancel my order. I than asked to pick it up, and they said I could only do so on orders of $200 or more, plus they are only available between 1-5, wednesdays through Friday. What kind of bs schedule is that. They will not allow negative reviews on their site so do not depend on them. Do research from a third party first before buying. For example, I purchased a Bafang mid drive motor from them and they ruined the finish by etching in their company name on the side. I fixed it with epoxy resin and spray paint but it was an added hassle. When I reviewed this on their website, they refused to add the review. Might want to call first before you visit them. I drove from Corona about an hour and a half and they were closed. Yelp said open until 6 but I arrived at 2pm (no parking anywhere due to construction) and door was locked and nobody inside. I parked in lot next to building but due to construction I moved my truck to look for nearby parking on street. Nothing within 6 blocks, I went to ebikes la instead. Terrible customer service. Paid for UPS ground shipping. UPS sent the package across the country by mistake and delivery will take two weeks to go 40 miles. Asked Luna if they would refund the shipping charges. They said that's crazy. Why would we do that. We would have to refund everybody's shipping charges of that was the case. Rather than getting an attitude about it they should their shipper accountable. Read this Luna; your attitude and poor shipping practices are costing you customers. Very bad customer service. I paid over $4000 for my bike. The first motor burned up in three months, the next in two. They told me to fix it myself. Good luck getting things resolved with them. Not gonna lie was extremely excited about my product but I had to come pick up my package 45mins away as some parts couldn't be delivered. Communication after my purchase could have been better but overall I got what I wanted, except I order the wrong bracket size. So I had to drive back kind of worried that i wouldn't be able to exchange it for the wrong size. I get here today and Davis right away knew I wanted to exchange it because I got the wrong size, no questions asked. You really have to know what you're getting into when you buy from Luna. They give you the best components available for e bikes for the cheapest price (albeit you could get cheaper from alibaba, but you never know their quality). They don't have customer service. Full stop. They are essentially a whole sale bike shop. You get quality stuff, but you gotta figure it out on your own. I bought an e bike build from them and I love it. Quality parts and looks great. Realistically, the bike will break down, and I will either figure it out on my own or bring it to a local e bike store. Luna is on the cutting edge of a e bikes; the ppl who work there are engineers, techs, and other bike nerds. They're not there to help you troubleshoot stuff. They want you to figure it out on your own. If you can't do that, don't shop here or you will regret it. read more

my Friend converted my bike using Luna cycle and i love the ebike but i am totally pissed at Luna cycle i just spoke with Luna Cycle and i can not handle it emotionally,, they want me to test the battery decide about polarity , and make my own adapter, i told him i think that is totally unreasonable ,, it is a luna cycle battery, he said they do not do it because it exposes them to liability if some one uses it on the wrong battery, and could cause a fire, i told him it is totally unreasonable i am not mechanical nor electrical ,, i do not have a tester, i do not really get it, i should be able to buy it from them ,, for their battery,, he said i could if i bought the battery and charger together, i told him, we did that but , i just left the charger at my sons, and i thought i would just buy a replacement, but i find this conversation totally irritating, they should be able to provide their customers with a replacement. i also told him , so have someone sign a waiver of liability that they have a luna cycle battery.. totally pisses me off read more

Just bought a Sur ron that gets barely 20 miles per charge running in the economy mode. I called and was told not to call buit to send an email so there would be a "paper" trail. I tried the email but no answer after 48 hours. There are other Sur ron dealers in the US. I wish I had known that before. I think my battery is a lemon but they won't even discuss it with me. Luna advertises outstanding products and reasonable prices / if you're able to actually get your hands on anything from them. And can stand their rudeness. I waited 9 weeks for a bike that was supposedly going to take 2 to 3 weeks. there's no way to directly call anyone who actually works at the Luna Cycle. Phone and email Support team are outsourced agents who don't really know anything that's going on, they're just there to answer general generic questions.. Originally I was told that my order was delayed because the part was not in stock. So then I asked him to just change it to a different part that was in stock. He said he'll talk to the builders and get back to me. Then waited several days with no response. Emailed again with the response "I'll check and get back to you". Then they said battery production was delayed. Wait 2 more weeks then they say sorry spring rush. For a bike with a several thousand dollars price tag you think they would be more eager to keep you informed. So I decided to go in person. The owners wife eventually answer the door after waiting 30 minutes. And told me that they are an online store only. I told her I was having problems getting direct answers online, she then said that she'd have someone give me a call but didn't even ask for my name or order number and shut the door on me. And the icing on the cake was when I was discussing the ridiculous wait times with another members on a ebike form when the owner himself snapped at me. Luna Cycle is a mixed bag. The good. The product selection is very good and their kits are very workable products. Their website is informative and helpful for product selection and technical info. Prices are OK. The bad. If something goes wrong you have to deal with their customer service, and that feels like punishment. They are not reachable by phone in my experience although they list a phone number. Email support is like getting a run-around at first. It is very hard to get their attention to really focusing on solving a customer problem. With a lot of time, persistence and high tolerance for frustration I was able to get some DOA charger replaced. Next a BMS on a battery pack failed, I am still in the process to get their attention so I can fix this issue. They sell China merchandise with about 25% margin over AliExpress. And I am willing to pay this premium for a domestic vendor providing reasonable customer service, but if that added value is no there, one can buy as well directly from China for a lower cost. read more

I don't understand how a business can stay in business if they never talk to the customers. I purchased a SurRon bike from their website and I have tried many times to call Luna to ask a question I have never gotten someone to answer. After owning the SurRon for about 2 weeks the throttle isn't working. I tried calling numerous times to see what my options are to get the bike working again, and not surprised, can't reach anyone. I texted with an 800 number they have which is the only way I have been able to communicate with someone from Luna. After explaining the issue via text, they replied by saying I should email to start a ticket. I wish I could just speak to someone and schedule a time to bring the bike in. I don't like leaving a negative review in fact I never do, but I wish someone would have left a review on how the customer service is handled at Luna. It's bizarre and I'm amazed when businesses have poor customer service. UPDATE: So I received some emails from Luna letting me know I can bring my bike in and they will fix any issues. I took the bike in to Luna yesterday and the two guys I met there were very nice and helpful. I think they are a good store but they very understaffed. Luna has a great business that is in demand, but they need to hire more people to help out. They said the throttle cutting out was actually a battery issue and it will take about a week to fix. OMG! Their support guy Joel is a TOTAL DOUCH! I purchased a V2 scooter. I like the scooter, even though EVERY ONE of the cheezy metal logos fell off almost immediately. Looks like they got the scooter, unboxed, made the cheezy metal logos on their ridiculous CNC machine that they are so proud of, hot-glued them on, put back in box, shipped out. Bravo guys! Nobody makes a mass produced Chinese product worse, better than you do! (Yes, I am saying the Chinese would have done it better. Suck it.) I bought my first ebike kit from Luna in 2016. At the time, they were the only US-based company to my knowledge selling ebike parts & equipment. 3 years and 5,000+ miles later, I still buy my ebike parts exclusively from Luna. In my experience they have 5-star products, 5-star prices, and 5-star service. The one time something I bought broke, they shipped me an upgraded part at no cost to me.
