We made 7:45pm dinner reservations however we arrived early and found space at the bar so we decided to eat there versus a table. We ordered the scallops appetizer. They were cooked to perfection. I have Tuna and my husband had the short ribs. Oh my goodness. They were so good. Service was fast and efficient. Entrees were out within 15 minutes of ordering. On our last night in Cocoa Beach, we wanted a sure thing in terms of ambiance and food quality. We'd been intrigued by Luna ever since we showed up, so we called up to make a last-minute reservation and that was that. We showed up right on time and were shown to a perfect little table near the back. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful, and although some of the specials sounded very appealing, I decided to go with the Mahi Mahi ("Macadamia crust, pineapple, pina colada sauce"). After finishing our tasty starter, the Bread Board ("Hot, crusty ciabatta with selection of butter or oils"), my main arrived. And it's delicious. The fish is cooked perfectly and it's enhanced by that macadamia crust. The included rice and vegetables add to the tropical, Hawaiian feel, although I will admit the pina colada sauce left me cold. (It was just too tart and rather unnecessary.) We were pretty stuffed but still we couldn't resist ordering the Key Lime Pie ("Tart Key lime custard") for dessert. I'm so glad we did because it turned out to be one of the best key lime pies I've ever had. It was creamy and flavorful and the tartness level was spot-on. I wanted Hawaiian food. They are NOT Fat Kahuna's any more. They are Luna something, which I should love because my name is also Luna, but no. I wanted Hawaiian, and did not get it. They still have all the signage up that says they are Fat Kahuna, so it's kind of a lie. Also, I only found this out by asking when I heard them mention their website to another guest, and asked. I gave 2 stars because it looked nice on the inside. If I'd been in the mood for Italian I might have been happy to dine there. read more

This place is super cute, and the service was excellent. The bar next door was a little too loud for us. It definitely affects the ambience of the restaurant. Regarding the food, we felt like that crab cake was a miss. It was listed as jumbo lump however there was absolutely no lumps, and there was too much breading. We think that it should be listed on the menu how it was going to be prepared. The crab cake was pan fried, and we were hoping for it to have been broiled. Escargot was delicious. The sauce was flavorful. Bread board was nice. Came with 4 slices of warm bread and oils. Huli tuna was super fresh. Italian pansotti was lacking favor though. The pasta was a little dense, also. The restaurant itself was a pleasant experience--quaint atmosphere and excellent food. However, our evening was marred by an inappropriate and uncomfortable interaction with our server, TJ. On two occasions, he put his hands on my girlfriend, which was completely uncalled for and made her feel extremely uncomfortable. This behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable in any setting, especially in hospitality. Staff should never touch guests under any circumstances. It reflects poorly not only on the individual but also on the establishment as a whole. Aside from this issue, everything else about our visit was outstanding. That said, we strongly encourage management to address TJ's conduct and have a serious conversation about appropriate boundaries with guests--particularly with women. We're concerned that this may not have been an isolated incident. We look forward to returning in the future, but only if we can be assured that this type of behavior is not tolerated and that TJ is not working during our visit to avoid another incident. read more

Wow. Hidden gem. Seriously. The food was amazing. We started with both salads on the menu, they're small but mighty. Do not underestimate the pad Thai. I WISH I ordered it after trying my sisters, the flavor is outstanding. I got the lobster raviolis and the fresh pasta obviously makes the dish. My fiance got the Italian pansotti and although a bit too heavy for my taste he ate the whole thing. My dad got the shrimp trio which he was worried would be too much food but he also ate all the shrimp (9) and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. If I ever come back to Cocoa Beach I would 100% visit this restaurant again. The servers are also so attentive and kind. What a great spot. If you were to move LUNA to a different location, it would definitely be considered fine dining. Located in Cocoa Beach, from the outside, seemed like just another beach dive restaurant. However, the atmosphere on the inside was quite nice. Service was excellent and the food was even better. Fat Kahunas won my award for favorite meal of our vacation! The Yelp reviews are what drew me to this place because....PEOPLE. It violated my main rule which is restaurants located in close proximity to the beach have bad food. Well, Fat Kahunas is why you never say never, cuz it's right next to a previously reviewed beach side restaurant, and people I am telling you THIS PLACE IS AMAZEBALLS. We arrived early - about six - with no reservation on a Friday night, and it was surprisingly empty so they seated us immediately. It's a tiny dining room, but it did continue to fill up as we were sitting there. We ordered starters of their bread and a salad with romaine, bacon, peaches and a Cesar style dressing. YA'LL. That salad. Magnificent! If only there had been more slices of bread - I'm dining with 17 year old, so baskets of bread don't last long. It was served with olive oil and herb mixture dipping sauce and there wasn't a drop left in husband or 17 year olds dishes. 17 year old ordered the tortellini stuffed with prosciutto and parmesan in a cream sauce. He devoured every bite, said it was delish, but did comment that he wished the pasta had been cooked a tad bit longer. Husband also ordered tortellini stuffed with a braised beef. He also said his was delicious, but the pasta could have been cooked a tad longer. I ordered a special which was three LARGE scallops, seared, served over pappardelle pasta in a cream sauce that had a hint of saffron. MY MEAL WAS FRIGGIN EPIC. You know those meals where your mind lingers on the tastes so you can figure it all out so you can recreate it at home?! THIS was the dish. STUNNING. Our server Megan was just lovely. Food was alright. I ordered the risotto scallops and the scallops were cooked really well but the rest of the dish was honesty not good. The red sauce on top of "risotto" cake didn't go with dish....The risotto rice tasted more like white regular rice...and slightly on the al dente side. The beef carpaccio was delicious. So was their white sangria. We made reservations and weren't seated until a lot later but oh well. Small place. Could've been solved faster but no biggie. Nice peer to walk etc. My mom ordered the Chilean sea bass special and she said it had strong fishy taste. I understand everyone is picky abt seafood. But she's pretty spot on and doesn't over exaggerate. She was also hungry and to slow her down was weird. We will most likely come back and give it another go. PS: a charge for the bread? Hmm not even that much assorted bread and olive oil blend was DELICIOUS but they took it away before we finished. Which is also weird considering you are paying for bread. We were the only ones there, and it's such a small restaurant so it made for a very intimate dinner with my family. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful. The best restaurant. It was so good that we came back 2 nights later (wanted to leave Cocoa Beach on a high note). We tried the scallop special for the appetizer. The various raviolis as entrees. The pork chop. And the dessert special. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The owner / chef is Italian, and he studied in France. Highly highly recommend if you are looking for a great dinner. We started with the ahi tuna - a must!!! This appetizer is delicious. Then we had the the pear candied pecan bacon salad. Wow and explosion of flavor with a smoked char surprise. For dinner we went with the fish of the day- grouper - with baked leeks the fish was cooked to perfection - I had the braised beef ravioli - this is a flavor bomb full of butter Sage delish. The food was amazing before but this time the food was taken to a different level. The white sangria along with calamari and shrimp for an appetizer set the tone for the rest of our meal. This was the worst, most awkward dinners of my entire life. Everything was going fine with appetizers and wine. Then my sister and her friends steaks came out med well when they asked for med rare and shit hit the fan. When my sister told the waitress she hesitated and looked visibly annoyed. She huffs and says "chef wants to see them" (we reviewed them with the light on our phones to make sure we had it correct and it wasn't just dark in the restaurant) The waitress takes the steaks back and comes back with one saying "we only have one left so... and leaves the other one on the table" We were like what the !?!?!!!?! Ok so my sister chooses something else and let's her friend take the last steak. And the waitress says "but we're not taking this one off the bill" It got super awkward and we said then stop cooking our food and we'll leave! So they were legit forcing us to pay for a steak that we sent back? It was freaking bizarre. They ended up taking it off the bill and we left with two members of our party not even having dinner!!!!!! This is crazy AF to me!!! My sister wrote a note on the bill to call her so we could speak about what happened but they didn't call. (I wouldn't have posted this review if they would have called out of respect) We've heard the chef/ owner does this often and is a real dick, so he prob puts waitresses in that weird position often, she handled it god awful but part of me kinda felt bad for her, My food was bad too, but with all the other stuff going on I just ate it quietly. A hidden gem among a crazy tourist location. Shhhh don't tell too many people or else! We had a fabulous culinary experience respecting all the social distancing - we had the whole place to ourselves. The dining rooms are small and pleasant, the food speaks volumes.
