What was supposed to be a few small things turned into great goat cheese garlic bread, refreshing caprese salad, and a halibut with capers and dill sauce that we are still thinking about today. Some of the best pasta I have ever had! Normally I am not an Italian food fan. Mainly because I don't love tomato based sauces but my eyes have been opened! I went with the ravioli because that is usually a safe and delicious option. That was also the case here! It was served with the most delicious flavor packed mushroom truffle marsala sauce. I mean if I could have gracefully licked that plate clean in the middle of the restaurant I would have! The caprese salad was a great start to the meal! Who doesn't love themselves huge chunks of cheese and crunchy fresh tomatoes. And I know I make so sense with my previous tomato comment but it doesn't have to make sense to you! We came here on Valentine's day at 5pm thinking we could beat the rush, but the gentleman at the door showed me his long his of reservations and said they were booked! But somehow as we were chatting he said if we could be done in 30 minutes, he could accommodate. Guess who was up for the challenge? Everyone was super friendly, the food was great, and I'll definitely be back when they have their regular menu again. It didn't even hit me that they may be doing a prix fixe menu. Anyway, had a mocktail, the Cesar salad, lobster bisque, lobster ravioli (you could taste the actual lobster), chicken marsala, tiramisu (light and fluffy), and some limoncello cake. We had a party of six people at the restaurant. I did not read the receipt carefully and later realized that a tip was already included in the bill. Food and ambiance was amazing. However the service was not as great. Entrees took quite a while to come out, and one of our drinks didn't come until after entrees was served. I was quite upset about the up charges as well. After we ordered our entrees the server said "soup and salad ok?" We assumed this meant that soup/salad was included with the meals, so we asked for soup. Once the bill comes they charged us $8 for it. Super frustrating, didn't end up saying anything but paid the bill and left. Paid $120 with tip for mediocre service. Would love to come back if that improves. read more

The service and atmosphere are fine at this restaurant. The area of improvement is the food. The Caesar salad was fresh but the dressing tasted like store bought jar dressing. Not bad, but didn't stand out. The main dish- the New York steak special of the night was the main disappointment. The steak was super thin - half an inch thick or less. I ordered it cooked medium and it came out closer to well done. To me, quality steaks have some thickness to them - preferably closer to an inch or more thick. The steak also was very fatty. I know all New York steaks have fat on the edges. However this steak had so much fat that I was only able to eat half of it. My line of thought is if a restaurant is going to offer specials, use good quality meat. Not cheap cuts. Overall I probably wouldn't go back. If they can't get their specials right they may probably don't get their staples right either. read more

There were two boxes right below these two entrees, listed as combo 1 and combo 2 with prices. This was what I thought the price of what I ordered. We dined at Luna last night for my birthday. When we arrived we were able to park in front and the small restaurant was somewhat empty. We had water to drink but on Wednesday they have 50% off wine. Back in the day, I would have taken advantage of that! Jazz music and candles set the mood. But, as the place filled up, it was more and more noticeable just how close the tables are. The food was good. As expected. Obviously fresh and very well prepared. We were full but I wanted dessert for later at home. We asked for boxes for the leftovers and ordered a tiramisu to go. Our server gave me the oddest look. I know it won't be all pretty and fancy in a box but I still want it. Lol. The loss of the star. By the end of our meal, the place was busy and I think it was still just the one guy serving. We waited far too long for him to take our payment. I ended up walking it up to grab his attention and still waited for another 10 minutes. All in all, great meal. Oh. And the tiramisu.... Was fantastic even if it wasn't pretty. read more

I'm so impressed by the food here! My favorite dish is their Gamberi. It's Linguine with tiger shrimp, crab and tomato sauce, or creamy Parmesan sauce. Amazing! Generous portions of shrimp and crab with a delicious Parmesan sauce. After finishing the dish, I always wish I had ordered two! The ravioli stuffed with porcini mushrooms and ricotta cheese in a marsala cream sauce and truffle oil is also a favorite of ours! If you order take out, be sure to ask for their table bread/butter. First time here. Came for Valentine's Day. I've never been here before but last year they sent something to our place saying to come celebrate my birthday for a discount on food, which I thought was weird because I've never been there so how did they know when my birthday was or where to send the coupon?? When we checked in there were two Maria's but the first one didn't have a last name so when I called to make the reservation I gave them my last name. We were told the table was ready then told it wasn't. We waited which was fine we were early. The place is small but cute. They had a set menu. 1. We both got the lobster bisque soup (it was good had a kick to it) 2. Ordered the steak which came with a tiny bit of mash potatoes and vegetables ( said NY steak on the menu) our waiter told us they had filet mignon (not sure why he said that because the menu was a set menu with NY steak and that's what we got like everyone else? When we got it it was a NY steak like everyone else's which was fine. Mine was a little burnt on the outside but it was still good. My partner Graces had parts that were rare when she asked for well done. It was still really good 2. Desserts: we both asked for cheese cake because they said they only had tiramisu and cheesecake left. We saw other people with something else with ice cream? When they brought out the dessert they gave my gf the tiramisu when she wanted the cheesecake but she didn't say anything so I gave her half of mine. We saw them handing out roses to people when they gave them the check which was nice. (We didn't get one though?) I took one star off because they gave the wrong dessert, the steak was a little burnt, and others got a rose but we didn't. Other than that everything was good. The first thing upon arriving the owner greeted our party at the front entrance he was very friendly and had us seated promptly. The ambiance is cozy and the server was very polite and he quickly got our orders taken the was a nice selection of appetizers, entree's and desserts also there is a full bar available. The entrees were prepared well and were very flavorful I was in the mood for Salmon Modomio Luna did not disappoint it was delicious paired with the desserts and wines made for a very enjoyable evening. My wife and I just had a wonderful time dining at Luna Restaurant on Willow Pass, Concord, CA and couldn't wait to give this restaurant an excellent rating. The owner, Habib just made us feel like a friend and family. Habib and the people serving us just made us so comfortable. They are very polite, friendly and very professional. Kudos to the cook(s)! The gnocchi and steak are superb, not to mention the fresh baked bread and corn soup. As always, the stuffed mushroom appetizer was amazingly delicious. The tiramisu was absolutely incredibly delicious too. The server named, "V" was amazingly great! He was very enjoyable to chat with and we're glad for his recommendations. Had dinner at Luna tonight and the food and everything was as good or better than ever and it's going some because this is one of the most consistent restaurants we've been going to over the years. Maybe the family Vibe does have something to do with it and the newish owner I believe came out and said hello and introduced some of his family which was nice. 3.5 is my rating. Friendly staff, clean, enough distance between and outdoor sidewalk dining available. Large spinach salad was tasty. The combination of candied nuts, feta cheese, apple slices, grapes and olives with the honey mustard dressing was tasty. I'd order this with some protein and be very happy. Maybe some more olives to feel more Mediterranean would be a step up. Warm bread seemed homemade which is a plus. Semi hard pats of butter are always an annoyance to me. We had the cioppinno and seafood pasta as entrees. Halibut subbed out for tuna. All seafood cooked just right as well as the pasta. I was missing seasoning big time. Had to ask for parmesan. Maybe due to pandemic, no salt and pepper on the tables. A little kick from some chili flakes would be good as well. Desserts didn't speak to us so we passed. A cannoli would be a nice addition as well as a mussel appetizer since they are used on the menu. I always applaud the local businesses so please give them a try. This place was an interesting find in Todos Santos Plaza. I would say I couldn't give it a complete 5 over all based on the immediate service but the owner and chef coming out at the end was a nice touch. The location is in a beautiful location of Todos Santos plaza. Were you could take a beautiful walk around the park after or before your meal. The ambience is an ambience of intimate location and has a few outdoor tables available. The restaurant walls are covered with beautiful artwork and print, that makes the place more romantic. I was told the best times to come or on the weekends as they have live pianist. I was craving some pasta and that's all I wanted to try! I would say the Caesar salad wasn't what I was expecting. It had more of a mayo/sardines, flavor that I would probably pass for future salads. I understand what Caesar salad dressing is made with, but it was just a little too strong for me. I tried the Gamberi with the creamy Parmesan sauce and I had to order a 2nd for take out. It was magnificent! The bold flavors of crab and shrimp were perfectly blended with the creamy parmigiana sauce! I would definitely recommend this dish. The meal was served with soft focaccia breads, I had to ask for oil and balsamic vinegar which I always thought was a natural but again with the service it was just ok and could of been better. I feel the service only got better when it was time to pay for the meal, which I found to be disappointing as a good meal shouldn't be diluted by the service provided. So with that being said, I'd say the food was great, the service was so so and the location is beautiful specially after a nice heavy meal! Must try again and see if service was just lacking that one time or if it's always the same, but for sure must take out the gamberi read more

Friday evening fun with friends last week! We went to Luna in Concord, it's been many years since I was there, but I'll be back soon! Dinner and great conversation. We shared some Goat Cheese Garlic Bread, I had a Caprese Salad and Deb had the Spinach. For entrées I had one of the specials - Crab and Artichoke Ravioli, Deb had a Seafood Pasta and Michelle had the special Risotto with crab in a lobster sauce. We finished by sharing a piece of the Creme Brulee Cheesecake. All washed down with the lovely bottle of Zinfandel that Deb supplied. Incredible food, good friends and delicious wine. A wonderful way to enter the weekend. Highly recommend trying Luna if you haven't already been there!! read more

Luna Restaurant is a cute little spot offering the classic Italian dishes. Service was super friendly and we sat in the outdoor tables. Mushroom gnocchi - I have seen these two paired together but I liked it. I love the earthy mushroom flavor and the gnocchi was pillowy good. We then got the beet salad and spinach salad which we were surprised by the portion sizes being as big as they are! Both wee so/so, could leave without or could order if you want some greens. We also got the mushroom ravioli which was probably a misorder on our part because it tasted similar to gnocchi appetizer. The ravioli itself was fine. Lastly, we got a special of the day, the fettucine alfredo pasta - with jumbo shrimp and crab with the white sauce which was good. THe sauce was not as thick but was plenty of it. Luna was a good choice for a pasta/Italian craving in the area. THe little complimentary dessert was a nice addition to end the meal as well! read more

Good food, bad service. My parents love the food here and while it is good the service everytime I've joined them here had been horrible. The place is small and intimate, no more that 12 table tops and yet things hey forgotten. Drinks never arrive, waters aren't refilled, to even get your order taken, takes a while. Literally the past three times I've gone here I've had to go up to the bar myself asking about our drinks after 15 minutes (no one is at the bar) It's sad too, because this place could be a great gem of a restaurant, but the service alone makes me want to never come back. read more

I celebrated my birthday here pretty recently and it was one of the best, most welcoming dining experiences I've ever received. We were greeted and sat swiftly after walking in. Our server, Viraj, was delectable. He was very knowledgeable in both the menu and drinks and gave us the best recommendations, really talking us through all of our questions. If you like an old school style Italian restaurant with attentive, but not intrusive service, this is your place. We celebrated a 90th birthday here and the staff was patient and accommodating. This was especially challenging with a vegan in the group. But they made a special dish and everyone was happy with the food- no easy feat. I'm not sure how this place is getting so many good reviews. I'm not sure that I've ever had worse Italian food anywhere else. The red flags popped up when our food came out within about 10-15 min. How can you make 3 Italian dishes in less than 15 min? Obviously not from scratch. The food was completely bland and totally lacked any flavor. It wasn't even salted. We only saw really old people when we were there, so many that's the population that they are used to. Probably bland unsalted food is what really old people eat, but for us it was a waste of money and really bad experience. Better go next door to the Falafel Flames who never disappoint. read more

i visited luna restaurant for my best friend's birthday in september of this year. it was a very fulfilling and satisfying dinner experience :) while the restaurant is relatively tiny, it's cozy and not so cramped. there was not much people inside (this was during a weekday and dinner time). the wait was not very long either. the servers were super kind and patient, despite my friend and i taking forever to order. they were out of the goat cheese garlic bread so we settled on the burrata with parmesan. it was sooo delicious--i highly recommend. we would've ordered another plate to snack on if we had the room. for my entree, i got the pesto pasta with chicken. the plating threw me off, as there was an excess of sauce, but don't knock it til you try it!! i am definitely reordering it the next time i come here. finally, for dessert, we got the fruit sorbet. it had the right amount of tartness and was the perfect way to end dinner. they did not sing happy birthday to my friend for some reason and apologized instead (?) but luckily my friend didn't want to be sung to anyways since she's shy lol. overall, luna restaurant is the perfect place for an intimate, quiet dinner while wanting something a little fancy. it doesn't break the bank either. looking forward to my next visit here! read more

We were in town killing time and decided to pop in for a bite and what a pleasant surprise it was! It was Adorable! We were greeted with the warmest welcome and although we didn't have a reservation, were seated right away. The wine list was amazing and the per-glass price was extremely reasonable. We ordered the garlic goat cheese bread and it was literally the best bread I've ever had! Shared a Cesar salad with homemade dressing and croutons and it was loaded with the freshest Parmesan cheese. For entrees we had the ravioli with a mushroom truffle sauce and chicken Marsala both of which were perfection! We ended the meal with slices of limoncello cake which was made with the fluffiest most delicious mascarpone cheese (not too sweet) and the tiramisu. Both were out of this world! The owners take the time to get to know regulars and everyone gets their attention. The chef could easily compete in a top chef competition. Every plate looked like a picture in a food magazine.
