Our family absolutely LOVES Zio Fraedo's! The food, ambiance, and service are truly AH-mazing. My husband usually avoids eating out because he says he can cook most dishes better--but he loves Zio Fraedo's because even he admits he can't cook better than this! Their family recipes date back to 1975, and it's one of our all-time favorite restaurants. The sauces and flavors are outstanding. Our favorites include the Seafood Pasta, Chicken Toscano, Prime Rib, Spinach and Cheese Ravioli with Chicken in White Sauce, and Chicken Carbonara. The fresh, warm bread with homemade garlic oil and the Caesar salad are also so good. It just keeps getting better every time we go, and we're still having fun discovering new dishes. I'm always recommending Zio Fraedo's to friends and family and can't wait for our next visit. Highly recommend! read more

I ordered the pesto fettuccine topped with salmon and prawns to go, and it was unbelievable. The pasta was fresh, the pesto was full of flavor, and the seafood was cooked perfectly -- even after the ride home. They even offered me coffee while I waited, which was such a thoughtful touch. My son and I shared the dish and loved every bite. They also included bread and butter, and the bread was soft and airy on the inside with a crisp exterior -- almost like an English muffin. We had a fabulous experience with Zio Fraedo's today for our one day conference. Working with them has been excellent. Terri DiLoreto was our organizer and she has great ideas on how to make things work. Our point people today, Liz, Ramon and Jose couldn't have been nicer and such a big help. I'd let Liz be my tech support any day. Everything went as planned and as he had an extra 10 minutes as our morning talk went fast, they pushed everything up for us. Wow. Felt like Italian cuisine. The place is big, with a huge parking lot ( a plus). Ordered: linguini with clams, grilled salmon, steaks, Mac and cheese. While waiting for our food, I was eating bread. The bread was so good especially after applying butter. (got a thumbs up with mom and my niece). Of course, after eating most of their bread, we couldn't finish our food. :) Will have to cut back on eating their bread, but would definitely come back. read more

Yikes...We went into our Thanksgiving meal hoping for a warm and welcoming experience, but unfortunately it didn't start that way and never really improved. We weren't greeted at our table for nearly 40 minutes. No one brought water, and eventually I had to find a pitcher at the bus station and bring it to our table just so we could have something to drink. We also had to ask the hostess for menus after sitting there for about 40 minutes with nothing in front of us. After being there for almost an hour, rolls were finally brought out. A few on top were warm, but the ones underneath were frozen, to the point that you could still see ice crystals inside them. No bread plates were provided, just butter and rolls handed out, which already set the tone for how disorganized everything felt. I also told our waiter about my food allergy upfront and specifically double-checked about both the appetizer and the salad. The menu clearly stated the salad contained nuts, so I avoided it. The appetizer, however, did not list any nuts. When he brought it to the table, instead of reassuring me or confirming it was safe, he handed it to me and said, "You let me know what you think." Given that this involved a serious allergy, that response was not just careless, it was unacceptable. When the food eventually arrived, it was clear it had been mass-prepared and left sitting. Everything was cold, yet we had been waiting for hours. The disconnect between how long we waited and the quality of what was served was shocking. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was what we witnessed in the lobby as we were leaving. We saw multiple guests expressing how disappointed they were, and instead of being met with understanding, they were told by staff to leave and that they were being upsetting. While we personally don't handle things that way, it was hard not to understand why people felt as upset as they did. On a personal level, I was embarrassed that I had made this reservation for my family. It was not a good reflection on a holiday meal I had hoped would be special. We aren't the type of people who enjoy complaining and we don't expect perfection. But there's a basic standard of hospitality, especially on a holiday like Thanksgiving, and this experience fell far below it. It was disappointing, uncomfortable, and not something we would ever choose to repeat. read more

Zio's was fantastic. They were so accommodating and easy to work with for our reunion get together. We had 240 people attending. Their staff was so helpful. The food was wonderful. I would highly recommend them . Sherry the owner was so helpful and great to work with us. If you go there for dinner you won't regret. For starters, going out to dinner on Thanksgiving is not a good idea...we had a party of 14 for five o'clock...reservation had been made and confirmed. We arrived and the hallway was packed with people. Some. Saying they had been waiting over an hour. We too, waited and waited. No one was working in the bar...the facility had obviously overbooked. Finally seared at 6:15...we sat quite awhile before 1 basket of bread, no butter, was put on the table. Asked for another and waited. Three different servers said someone would take our order soon. We waited...finally ordered. The appetizers were horrible. Very unappealing and cold. The salad had sat out so long it was wilted and flavorless and the entree was even a bigger disappointment, the prime rib was cold and tough, and the New York steak, at $65.00, was unacceptable, tough and full of gristle. This was a very unpleasant, costly experience. Though the family enjoyed being together, Zio Fraedos should be ashamed of letting greed determine their direction for this family holiday and ask themselves if Tony would have approved this horrible delivery. We decided not to cook at Thanksgiving and gave this place a try for our holiday meal. We had a reservation at 4 PM and didn't actually get served until about 6:15 PM. The quality of the food was really disappointing. Everything tasted like most typical school cafeterias. The Turkey and gravy were so salty as well as the mushy stuffing. The yams might as well have been dumped directly from a can...no spices. Some of us choose ham and liked it much better than the Turkey. The portions were large. Dessert was cheesecake or pumpkin pie and just okay. There was really no ambiance to speak of. We enjoyed family but not the background noise of unhappy diners. Next year we decided to skip convenience and will put in the effort to cook. read more

Sorry, but this was a total disappointment. I had been here before, and the food was decent, I won't be back. I would say comparable to airplane food. This is not fresh Italian Grandmom type food. I ordered spagetti and meatballs. Meatballs must have been a frozen cheap Costo type version. Sauce was either from a can or something, I would rather get a jar at Safeway. Pasta, ok... For the +$20 spagetti and meatballs, I would expect a simple salad or cup of minestrone, nope, just the pasta. The other meal at the table was chicken picata. Just ok. Veggies appeared to be frozen type. Mash potatoes were just ok. No major complaints , but not worth a night out. Service was no complaints. They were recently shut down for construction. They didn't touch the seating area at the restaurant, which has a 1980s feel to it. read more

Poor experience with gathering of 75 guests after funeral service. Had to pay extra for white table cloths we wanted. Restaurant gave gray napkins that looked bad with gold chairs. Over 25 upholstered chairs dirty. Had to be switched out before guests arrived. Hors d' oeuvres served in dark area, served late, scanty amount and unappealing. Buffet table backed up to double door window with truck parked right outside. Buffet table unappealing. Nothing special. Pork white gravy unappetizing, salmon and chicken blah! Since Tony passed the quality of food went down and prices went up tremendously. The ambience is ok but it would be much better without the cheap taste of pots and pans on the wall. This is supposed to be a classy restaurant not a road side cafe, however the staff is keeping the establishment alive by being friendly, helpful and prompt. My son and his wife love this place. They can walk from their home. First time visit for me last night and I had such a nice time. Seating options are a lovely outside with a lot of well tended plants, inside, the bar area, and a banquet room is available for parties. The bar area is small considering the size of the building but what a relaxing and friendly place. I don't drink alcohol or sodas. My family ordered their drinks. I got cranberry juice and water. Easy and not attitude at all from the bartender. She was so fun and recognized my son and his wife from a while back. Great way to start the evening. When seating opened up, we were shown to our booth. The decor is dated but clean and fits together. It's the dated part that makes this elegant table settings feel special and traditional. We enjoyed two appetizers, toasted raviolis and a wonderful bruschetta (best I ever had). While I was expecting to order one of the good pasta options, I spied Chicken Cordon Bleu. My favorite that is not easy to find! I adored it. Lots of tender, juicy chicken wrapped in bacon and sauce. Just loved it! Small but private parking lot available. Great visit. Never rushed. We held a 70th Birthday Party at Zio's this past Saturday. The event could not have gone better. The planning began about 3 months ago. Several locations were considered and Zio Fraedo's was by far the best option. The location is perfect, the food was outstanding and the service exceptional. 41 people were served entrees of their choosing all at the same time piping hot and delicious. Portions generous, and the sides were not overcooked. The green beans crisp and hot. Private room was set and ready and never once did we have to wonder where are servers were. Exceptional value. Very disappointed in this place for events. Appetizers were fried mushroom and zucchini , they had no flavor. You needed sauce to give it any kind of flavor. The buffet that was set up as well had no flavor besides one or 2 items. Meatballs were the best thing they had. I will say the waiter was really nice and had the kitchen make strips and fries for my kids because they wouldn't eat any of the food and I don't blame them. But even the chicken had no flavor and the fries weren't fried well. The dessert came out warm and might have tasted better chilled. Was very disappointed at the end of it all. read more

Tony has been so good to our family. We've had several parties there in the past few years and he's not failed to deliver on his promises! I just felt I needed to give a shout out to him. Last night we celebrate my dad's 84th and he wanted little neck clams. He called Friday and Tony assured him he'd have them... and so he did! There was no other restaurant outside of San Francisco that had them. Tony special ordered them in... The staff was amazing!
