We arrived 8:30 on a Monday night, a half hour before closing. We walked in and asked for a few slices. A rude young woman looked at us with a disgusted look and waved her hand down at the counter and said "we have no more pizza and we aren't making anymore". Based on the raves I saw on Yelp, I decided to give this establishment a shot. When visiting the Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania geographical armpit, I always gotta have a sub, Stromboli or pizza. As was stated in previous reviews, the place is located in one of those seedy strip malls. But heck, half the pizza joints in the New York -Jersey area are located in a seedy strip mall. It's part of the charm. The inside of the facility was pretty nice, reasonably clean and subdued lighting. There is a row of booth style tables along one side of the restaurant. The kitchen is on the other side and they make their pies in full view. The menu has a full line of Italian type goodie, pizza, pasta, salads, Strombolis and calzones. I ordered the 16 inch Giambotta pizza which comes with sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, peppers and mushrooms. Pizza was ready in 25 minutes. The order set me back about $20. The pizza itself was the standard New York style common in this area. Crust was soggy and flopped around as you try to pick it up. Sauce was a bit on the watery side, the pizza was reasonably good but not fantastic, I prefer pizza where the sauce has a presence, their sauce was a bit weak. In addition the pizza is sloppy to eat, I was wearing some of it on the front of my shirt last night. Bottom line is that this place is vastly superior to any chain you could go to. An excellent place to grab lunch. The restaurant is easy to get to for travelers with ample parking. The waitress was very friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. The lunch menu has a bunch of $5 options that all looked good. My wife had a big bowl of Pasta Fagioli and I had an Eggplant Parm 6" sub. We shared an order of Rice Balls. Everything was great. The 3 rice balls had a crunchy outside with ham, peas and cheese combined with the rice for the inside. They were served with a tasty marinara. My 6" sub was closer to 8" and had two slices of eggplant that covered the entire bun, cheese and just enough marinara to make it moist, but not messy. It was served with a few fries and was a bargain for $5. The waitress even gave us a refill soda to go. If we are passing through again, I will definitely stop. I'd like to try their pizza. Was driving by and excited to find a Italian sandwich shop. Ordered a slice of their barbecue chicken pizza, felt $5.25 was a little pricey, but it was a hefty slice. Slice was thrown in the oven so I walked away for a moment. Came back in just under 2 minutes and my slice was sitting on the counter in a bag. I asked the lady is the slice hot, knowing there was no way this inch thick slice could be hot, to which she replied "yes of course". What do you know warm exterior and cold chicken throughout the slice. Very disappointed as I drove off. Not to mention that the lady who seemed to be acting as the cashier/ manager, was not warm, guess she was just having a case of the grumpies! Moral of the story ask them to heat it up twice and don't say no to a drink. read more

I want to love this place but they consistently fall short on service. I placed an order for pickup an hour in advance for game day (I was bringing the pizza) and when I showed up to pick ip the order I was advised that the order was never done because someone came into work late. I understand things happen, but why not call me and tell me that the order can't be completed so I can get it elsewhere instead of telling me when I arrive to pick it up & don't have time to go elsewhere? The food is good when you can get it however they are frequently out of basic things no matter what time of day it is-I came in at 5pm on a weekday and they only had a limited supply of slices (that appeared to be sitting there all day), no pepperoni or sausage rolls. Staff said that's all they have and was unwilling to make anything else...I would understand if it was late but it was only 5pm. Food is great but this place can't be relied upon for service. They also charge extra for everything, delivery charge, charge for using a credit card, etc while many pizza places in the area do not. read more

My wife and I came here based on the great reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed! My wife loved her Chicken Piccata and Pasta Fagioli, and I had the Veal Parmigiana and a salad with lots of fresh mixed greens and spinach leaves. Food portions were so generous that we both had a meal to take home. Don't miss their Tiramisu for dessert, made in house and a wonderful cap to a delicious dining experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive, as well. If we were locals, this place would definitely be on our favorites list! My husband and I were staying at a local hotel on our way through town. Super fast delivery but they didn't give us utensils (we are in a hotel, dah). I have to say the eggplant parm was some of the best I've had through take out. Delicious sauce. My brocoli with garlic and oil was tasty, lots of garlic but way too much oil, it was drowning in oil. Nice fresh salad with a good Italian (oil and vinegar) dressing that did not have too much oil. The pasta fagoli was pretty good, not the best I have had, but good. If your an eggplant parm fan, I highly recommend giving theirs a try. read more

Such a great experience that I felt compelled to leave a review, something I don't do often. We stopped here on our road trip based off of their current reviews. Everything about this restaurant was so refreshing to experience in this day and age of mediocrity. From the way we were greeted when we walked in the door, accommodated with our 6 month old, how fresh, fast and incredibly fairly priced all of the food was to the most personable, kindest staff. Highly recommended even if just for takeout because every dish we tried was incredible. You can taste and see the quality and pride each dish is made with. This place had a five star rating and an ordinary pizza menu so my brother and I said "let's see what's different". Unfortunately, nothing is different. It's standard pizzeria food. No real complaints aside from "where is the five star experience?" I had a lasagna which was good. My brother had chicken piccata which was also good. They charge for fountain refills. That's a bit out of character for a pizzeria. Place is clean and service was good. I'd say it's a spot for a reliable meal but be cautioned if you're expecting something extraordinary. read more

Although the pesto wasn't as good as Grandma's it beat mine hands-down! My wife had the rigatoni Bolognese and it was also excellent! The Zeppoli was as good as the San Genaro festival... (POST MEAL :-): Son had wonderful Sausage and Broccoli Rabe Hero, husband enjoyed a fresh, well-made Chicken Caesar Salad, and my Eggplant Parmigiana Hero was heroic.
