Every year I visit the Joshua Tree area and nearly every day that I am here, I visit this bakery…read more Over the years, the hours of service has been a bit unpredictable but every food item has always been phenomenal. Happy to report that these days they're always open! The bread is incredible, the pastries delicious, and the sandwiches are high quality too. The crew is constantly churning out replacements for everything, which sells out quickly. Super friendly workers and a great owner. Definitely give it a try!

Their current GF options are either not tasty or not great breakfast items (almond cookie, coconut macaroon and a very hard to eat bread loaf). I know from personal experience with Pamela's GF baking mix just how easy it is to make a delicious chocolate GF banana bread that is just as good as the wheat version. Luna could probably even make one where their wheat eaters wouldn't even notice the difference. Anywho, that is my gf fantasy. In conclusion, if your body can tolerate sourdough, get to Luna! It's divine! If not, you can always get a delicious gluten-free doughnut next door at Matson Ambroise.

The landscape around it is a hypnotizing blend of desert, mountains, high plains...with towering cacti and rocky terrain that seem to go on forever. It's the perfect setting for those seeking thrills and a taste of the unconventional. As I wandered around the restaurant, inside and outside, I couldn't help but notice the eclectic mix of people who gather here. There were the hardcore adrenaline junkies, decked out in full gear and ready to conquer the next climbing expedition in Joshua Tree. Then you have the nature lovers, clad in earthy tones who seem at peace with themselves and the world (OMMmmmmmmmmmmm.....) and then you have the free spirits (ME ME ME ! hahahaaa) with the interesting hair and carefree attitudes. Overall, Yucca Valley Outpost is a fantastic Food and People Watching destination for anyone looking to break free from the constraints of modern society and experience the world on the "other side"... and before I forget... the food is delicious !

I had a veggie omelette, substituted egg whites, and my husband had the classic eggs, pancake, and bacon. The coffee was filled regularly and was good and strong. I told her I wanted an omelet and two seconds later asked again. The iced coffees were made in a hurry and looked as such and lacked flavor. We got in and sat around 1240 and had waited a staggering 50 minutes without any food nor anyone coming to check in on us and see if we were doing alright. When we finally questioned our order, it was revealed that one of their cooks quit that morning... To which I feel like you should probably disclose those details to your customers up front don't you think? Long after we were about to leave, she still asked if we can wait 5 minutes more to finish to which finally was the last straw and we walked out. On our way out, we took notice that we were the only ones not eating....

We got wraps last time we stopped in, today we ordered a couple BLT's +avocado #delish. We also got the Sabrina Smoothie which is the main reason I'm doing this review. Sooooooo good! The turkey, while good, wasn't freshly carved, which took a little away from the "special" feel. And while the breakfast sando was light and all alone on the plate, the way the mayo fused the flavors together was delicious. But I do wish the beverage fridge had prices listed so I wasn't surprised at the register. The restaurant, while it's a bit tricky to find on the side of a building, inside is a modern space. It's spotless and very clean. The aesthetic is minimalist and if it were just you, it could feel a bit cold, if not for the steady buzz of activity behind the counter. There were three staff members who moved swiftly. As I watched I was impressed with their efficiency as the kept things running smoothly. When we entered an hour before closing, we made the mistake to sit and pause to look over the menu. It was a mistake because it seemed like the front door kept swinging open as wave after wave of hungry visitors poured in. My guess is these folks were all returning from Joshua Tree National Park. In fact, it felt like nearly everyone there had just come from the park. The business concept appears thoughtfully geared toward travelers, particularly those with a bit of disposable income and a discerning palate. Overall, this is a certified foodie stop: quality over quantity: taste over filling up.
