It was our first time dining here with our family. We had a party of 6 and sat at a regular table in the restaurant. They have Happy Hour from 2-6 weekdays and all day on Sunday. We had the Happy Hour Chips & Queso, and their house Merlot. Both were good. The Queso is served hot in a mini skillet. For dinner, two ordered Steak Fajitas, two ordered the Classic Cheeseburger, one ordered the Birria Quesadillas, and one ordered the Luna's Grilled Chicken Plate. All entrees were very good. Two ordered desserts, the Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake and the Mini Chocolate Volcano Cake, they loved them. Cici, who is the owner, waited on us and was super nice. Locally owned by the nicest couple. I'm always impressed with the bravery when restaurant industry veterans take the leap of faith to start their own restaurant and build on their dreams. My friend and I both visited for the first time for lunch. We were the only ones here and I was shocked because they have a great menu with plenty of options. We decided to stop and grab a bite on the way back to Kentucky from Ohio, but wanted a local place. We found it. First off we were not asked where we would like to sit (the bar or at a table), although we figured out towards the end of our meal the bar must be for regulars only. We were seated along the wall that was already full of people. Just made it a little harder to be heard. But the bigger issue we had was the servers talking either to another employee, or manager or owner, unknown who he was but he and his companion both got up and down a lot and entered the back of house area. As well as a lot of talking to staff. Which was one of my issues when o needed something. The interior of the place is very plain and generic. I was very unaware that this was a tequila bar until I saw the name on Yelp! Now for the important parts... the food! First off we told our server that this was our first visit and we were from out of town, and asked what she would recommend. Her answer reflected the whole menu, and nothing specific, although she did start with the steaks. We ordered the hushpuppy appetizer ($7). We both opted for a burger, her the Stack Burger - 2 Small Patties Topped with American Cheese. Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato and Pickle with fries($10), and a side of slaw! ($3) Me the Luna's Burger Chorizo Sausage, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles and Cilantro Aioli with fries($13), and a side of the Street Cob - Grilled Cob Smothered With Home Made Aioli topped with Parmesan cheese and seasoning ($3). The speed in which we received our food was impressive considering the chatting with the other table! Our server did not deliver our food the bar tender did! The hushpuppy appetizer came with 9 1" size bites very good choice! Nice savory bite with plenty of herb / onion flavor! We opted to get plain ranch as they are served with a jalapeño ranch ( mouth would have loved but stomach not so much!) First off the stack burger was billed as excellent and cooked well! It states on on the menu all burgers cooked to medium well! The fries are also served with every burger, although we did not ask if there was the ability to sub a side. They were hot and fresh and had a decent hold time! The slaw was excellent as well just with there was more of it! (It was kind of fluffed up so there was less in the vessel than there normally would be). Second the Luna's burger was also made well, but not quite as ordered. I had requested that I not get the cilantro aioli but the same aioli that came on the street corn side. I worked on my fries the street corn and some of the slaw as we were sampling each others sides! I got the the burger and it had no aioli at all, and I sat waiting for the waitress to show back up to inquire about it. She very flatly said they did not have anything but the cilantro aioli. But instead of explaining so I could inquire about mayo or mustard they just sent it out with a dry bun! I did receive mayo and a bottle of mustard (that felt like it had never been cleaned after it had been to other customers tables!) after dressing the burger, the taste was excellent! The combination of chorizo and beef is always an excellent combination! Not dry (even after waiting to be eaten), I believe it could only be better with bread and butter pickles instead of dill but either way excellent! The street corn was good but both great, as well as one side of it was charred pretty bad but still ok! We did not opt for dessert, and had unsweet tea and a Dr Pepper as I was not a fan of the tea, which was cloudy and not really a tea flavor! Total for all was $44 before tip and well worth it! Not one employee was visible when we left, the whole staff was in the back... Would we go back? Yes! I just hope the service gets a little better and the staff works a little better instead of only talking the their regulars instead of assuming the new customers would not become regulars! I decided on a 4 instead of 3 stars mainly because the food was so good and a surprise! We kinda expected a typical bar food scene but we're pleasantly surprised!!! Ate there last Week it was some kind of music bingo night. I am just now getting around to posting my review. Seems like a nice place however the meal I ordered was the worst food I have been served in a resturant in my 73 years. It was the fettuccini shrimp pasta, the smell of the shrimp should have been a hint to me then the fact that the shrimp were difficult to cut should have been the 2nd clue. Stopped by Luna's initially because I had fundraiser card that gave me $5 off any purchase of $25. It was Sunday late lunch about 1:45 and there was a few groups eating lunch when we came in. The outside reminds of maybe Cheddars or a middle class restaurant and the inside is pretty basic. The menu is pretty delightful and the service was good. I had the fish tacos ($15) three delicious tacos but, no sides sadly. My daughter has the kids chicken tenders and it was all day happy hour ($5 margaritas) so I had a margarita. Start by saying we have eaten here many times and it has been great. But they have totally gotten away from all Mexican dishes. My wife said her nachos was the only thing close to a mexican type food and it was terrible. Added ground beef for $3 extra. There may have been a table spoon of beef added and she said it was cold. The cheese was hardened up to the point she pick up her chips and they all stuck together. I hope they do well but we will not be back with the new menu. I come here just from convenience because of its location. And I always get the same thing every time. You have to start with the chips and salsa and then you have to try the chicken fajitas, nice juicy chunks of chicken and the onions cooked excellent. That's my go to dish. Taco Tuesday is the best way to get an idea of their flavors of tacos. We did one of each half Mexican style, half gringo style. While some of the flavors bordered on bland, the habanero salsa helped! I think the chorizo may have been most flavorful. With its unique flavor I'd like to see it combined with the Queso to add a little taste to it. The house margaritas were tasty and the staff friendly enough. Went to try Luna's ordered the pictured Chorizo Fries and an order of El Pastor Mexican style tacos. Service was friendly and attentive. No real change from when it was Miyoshi to decor. Food was unfortunately very average. Toppings on Chorizo fries were very light, fries themselves were good. Meat in the Mexican style taco was very dry and tuff. What could improve? Everything. We ended up here on a Friday evening after the neighbor restaurant had an hour+ wait. (859 taproom--10/10 would recommend) The restaurant was fairly empty, which was a relief since I had a hungry group to feed. A couple tables and seats at the bar were occupied with numerous tables/booths open. I should have taken that as a sign. We were sat and the tables and menus were sticky. Again, should have just taken the sign and left. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to come by and check on us initially. The waitress was nice enough but quickly informed us they were "out of chicken"... how does that happen?? Service was beyond slow. We did not have any napkins or silverware. I decided it would be quicker to go ask someone than wait for our waitress. I approach the staff member and she is watching a movie on her phone and has headphones in. I do not understand why the service was so slow. There were plenty of staff members and not many patrons. After we initially ordered our drinks and food, the waitress said the food would be about 15 minutes. This was after we waited 15 minutes for our drinks. It was another almost 45 minutes before we got our food. The food wasn't horrible, your basic frozen bar/preprepared food. Orders came out one at a time. Please keep note that the club sandwich is served on two sad slices of wonder bread. I make a better sandwich at home... left feeling unsatisfied and dirty/sticky. The chairs were dirty, tables were disgusting and even the salt/pepper shakers were covered in gunk.... Makes me not even want to think about what the kitchen looks like. Long story short, we should have just waited for 859 as it ultimately would have been faster, 100% more clean, better food, better service, and a way better experience. Will not return. read more

A post on our neighborhood Facebook group recommended this place and since it was Taco Tuesday ... we decided to check it out, and so glad we did! Fairly new, they opened in September 2021, located in a building that looks like it may have previously been a sushi restaurant. Service was friendly and fast, and we felt like they were genuinely happy to have us there. The food was great, not authentic Mexican food but definitely a good version. We asked for a cheese quesadilla which wasn't on the menu (only steak and chicken are on the menu), and they were happy to accommodate our request. For everything else, we ordered off the Taco Tuesday menu and all was delicious and well presented. The margaritas were huge (and tasty!), and we loved the tacos - he had two steak, and I had two shrimp. They were a generous street taco size. We had them Mexican style (onions and cilantro on corn tortillas). They also offer gringo style on a flour tortilla. We shared a side of rice with (black) beans and it was a perfect accompaniment to round out our meal. We enjoyed our visit and the tasty food really hit the spot - and it was a great bang for our buck on a Taco Tuesday, too! read more

This place must be a well-kept secret it doesn't have the most ideal placement for restaurants in the area but if you're seeking for something that's very good within the budget ... Our waitress was very pleasant and nice and she recommended the cake and she nailed it it's the brown butter cake it doesn't seem like much at first until you taste it and then the flavor builds more and more as it's in your mouth it's amazing just like how butter melts in your mouth The flavor just erupts in your mouth.... So much so as you can see we bought another one to take home and that's normally not what we do.... The things we had was perfect we didn't complain about a simple thing and usually we have something to say that we don't like but we couldn't think of a thing that we didn't like..... The fries have a special breading on it not sure what it is but it's sweet but light..... So, we regretted our choice as soon as we sat down.. we should've left so it was our fault but the weather was awful and we are traveling and just wanted a bite before we headed to our hotel. Waitstaff was non existent and when we left we were the only table in there at 8:30 on a Saturday night.. we asked for water as soon as we sat down and that never happened.. no non alcoholic anything to offer but sodas etc.. not one non alcoholic beer on the menu. I've been eating at Luna's for a while now, and always wondered why it was so empty inside. Well tonight, I found out why. Our waitress was extremely unaccommodating when asked to split checks, she assumed we would be on either one or two checks (which was fine), and when we asked to split it four ways, she looked at us with a very crooked expression, dropped her shoulders, and hit us with a "really?" super sassy like, and then stormed off. Overall, was very unprofessional. She made us very uncomfortable and we felt like we had to leave early. As we were leaving, she shouted across the restaurant to wrongly accuse us of not paying our bill by shorting her 0.20 cents, while walking closer to her she realized she was wrong, and then we promptly left. 10/10 would never come back! On second and third and fourth thought, she gave me the most bombastic side eye when I asked to order a side of Mac 'n' Cheese. She told me it was only on the kids menu, and said nothing else which made me feel like I couldn't get it. (I guess only kids eat Mac 'n' Cheese???) I don't like Kraft Mac 'n' Cheese, so I asked if it was Kraft and she said it was homemade, so you can imagine how befuddled I was when she set a small plate of Kraft Mac 'n' Cheese in front of me. I guess making Kraft at a restaurant makes it "homemade" ??? I paid at least six dollars for that. After I had finished my meal, (three tacos and a small bowl of Kraft) she came back and said "Wow! Do you ever just hear about how nice the employees are at a restaurant and then you go for yourself and all the good things were true? That's what I'd say about Luna's. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. We had a large party of 10 and though the restaurant got busy after we came in, she checked on us and kept us updated about our food. The variety is great for large groups and families because your kid wants spaghetti? It's there. Another wants a taco? Also an option. I absolutely loved the hush puppies, elote and brown butter cake, those are all must tries. I enjoyed my el pastor tacos and want to go back for a burger. My mom loved her steak. I love this place the owner Cici makes you feel at home and her husband Luis is an amazing cook be sure to ask if there are currently any special desserts his dishes are phenomenal. If you try this place you will most likely become a regular. My favorite is the birria tacos with some potato skins. It is not uncommon for me to get a nice ribeye steak it's probably my favorite place in the area for a steak I just wish they had gravy for the mash potatoes. I really like the honey glazed brusselsprouts when they are in season. This truly is a family restaurant with their teenage daughters serving, they are a beautiful family. read more

I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews, for this is a place that was opened with (I guarantee) hopes to be fantastic. Reading the reviews from before (over 2 years ago) it sounded like they had a different and much better quality of food coming out of the kitchen. Unfortunately, this was not the case when my dad and I ate there just an hour ago. It was nothing like we expected...from the decor (it was all over the place), to the contrast between the leopard print bowl and the pattern on the table, to the abysmal food that we received. The "Mexican" rice was basically rice pudding. The chicken was so dry and overcooked. The sweet potato was alright. I will say that my father's burger was cooked perfectly and his fries were fresh and hot. However, our waitress (shout out to her!) was amazingly sweet and friendly. She was running both the bar and the restaurant by herself...I commend her for that. I can't see myself coming back here anytime soon but I hope that they can get back to running it like they used to! read more

My husband and I tried Luna's for the first time recently. It was amazing! And, the owners are super friendly. I ordered the shrimp tacos. The shrimp were so plump and succulent. You can either get them Mexican style... cilantro and onions, or Gringo style... lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. I did a mix of both, and added guacamole and sour cream. So, I had it all! It was wonderful!! Plus, I ordered a side of really great street corn. My husband got, hands down, the best steak fajitas ever! It didn't have little pieces of meat like you get at a standard Mexican restaurant. These were large, juicy, and oh so flavorful strips of ribeye. And, the peppers, onions, and tomatoes were out of this world! It's definitely a must try if you like fajitas. For dessert I had the most silky chocolate caramel cream pie. Went on a Thursday at 6:45 for dinner and it was only us and one other table in there. Considering the little crowd, service was prompt. No music playing. TVs are playing the news, but no sound is on. No outdoor patio either. Not the original vibe we were looking for, but we wanted to try something new. Thought this was Mexican food, but it's just a bar and grill (steak, burgers, fries). We both got the Alfredo (one with chicken, one with shrimp) and the food was really nicely cooked, big portion, and garlic bread.
