We came for a late lunch on a Thursday and the place was next to empty. We were promptly seated but that is were the promptness ended. We were left at our table for around 10 minutes without any greeting or our server coming over to take our order. As there was only 1 other party there at the time, it was obvious that she was not too busy to provide us service. Our server, Kaily, finally came over and admitted to having forgotten about us. Which is fine. As someone who worked in hospitality for several years, I get that. What I don't understand is why you would then take that party's order and then ghost them for the rest of their meal. You should work to turn around their negative experience. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and French Onion soup. The salad had far too much dressing and the French Onion soup had a bizarre flavor from the cheese they used. The entire meal was awful quality. I would have asked Kaily for something different, but that was not possible as she never came back to check on us. By this point, the only other party in the restaurant had left so there was zero excuse for being ignored. Food was terrible and the service was worse. I would highly recommend you avoid this establishment. read more

Our intention was to grab a quick meal before a movie, so encouraged by a coupon, we ventured to Luna's Bistro. The restaurant was empty -- we had our choice of tables. The ambiance -- confusing -- and the background music featured a weird combo of 60s and 70s rock played way too loud. We decided on burgers and waited for our food. I cut my burger in half to make it more approachable and it was raw in the middle. My husband did the same and his was still mooing. We sent them back and the kitchen got busy making new plates. The place has a giant chalkboard menu and our server spent all of her non-serving time adding artwork to the chalkboard. It was an underwhelming experience all around -- but at least we didn't get sick. read more

French onion soup, tomato basil soup de jour, lovely house salad with lovely creamy dressing, extraordinarily crispy fries and an avocado chicken sandwich that was fantastic. All were wonderful, including the delicious side bread that came with the soup of the day. The food was just okay also except the Baked french onion soup doesn't look appealing and appetizing to me. The last time I went during lunch time and they were out of pizza dough and pilsners, and the time before that I went during dinner time and they were out of lagers! Unfortunate! Then the time before that I had a Caesar salad & a Margherita pizza which were both great. The Pasta Primavera was too oily for me. The service is alright overall. read more

I loved this place because it served Halibut and Chips. Now they only offer cod :( My most recent visit was specifically for French onion soup. It was $12 (14?) for literally one cup of soup. 8oz. Tiny bowl, tasteless cheese, and I couldn't find the bread because it was just mush in the bottom of the bowl. Plus WAY too salty. Their steak bites were so salty they were borderline inedible. Service was lovely. Don't think I'll go back though. read more

My friend and I wanted to have a drink here. We sat at the bar and the host told us our server would be with us shortly. We waited several minutes and the server was at the bar. We're not sure if she was attempting to make a drink but clearly she was trying to do something to flirt with, or at least try to impress, one of the male customers at the bar. The server never acknowledged us, not even just say she'll be right with us. We waited a reasonable amount of time and then we left. If I go back, I don't want it to be when that server is working. I'm sure this restaurant has great things to offer but i didn't find out this visit. I'll update my review after my next visit. read more

Came here for family dinner following a movie. PROS: nice location, cozy atmosphere, and convenient location to the movie theater. Sunday night happy hour meant cheaper drafts, both of which were good. We were seated promptly and the service was excellent. CONS: the food left a lot to be desired--the Caesar salad and chicken avacado sandwich were okay but the sirloin steak was tough and bland, and the pizzas (Hawaiian and margarita) were cheese bombs that drowned out everything else. Pretty much everything served was under seasoned and definitely needed salt. And when we received the bill, there was a 3% kitchen service charge added--that's a first for me, and I have to say I'm not a fan of hidden fees especially given the below average food. I may be willing to give the place a try again, but would definitely steer clear of the entrees and pizzas next time. read more

First time eating here, I got the cod fish and chips @ $25 and my girlfriend got the half blackened Cajun pasta @ $16. The fish and chips were very mid, you get the bang for your buck for how much fish was in the breading; but the unfortunate part is the breading lacked seasoning and flavor. The pasta sauce was absolutely delicious but the dish had very little noodles and chicken. The waitress offered to bring a side dish of noodles, we waited 10 minutes for them and they were smothered in Alfredo sauce, a completely different sauce than ordered before, she just wanted extra noodles to put into the Cajun sauce. Once the waitress realized that my girlfriend didn't enjoy her food, the waitress took the Cajun pasta off of our bill. She also didn't charge us for the side of noodles. read more

Unfortunately we had a completely different experience this time around, we came in for lunch on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. Even looking online there was nothing to indicate they had the brunch only menu being served, other places I have been to unless specified they still serve the regular menu as well. That was the first disappointment. The person I spoke to when making reservations and that seated us was very friendly and answered all our questions. Now the food 2 got the steak and eggs one cooked blue and one medium, both were chewy and dis not seem good quality. 2 got chicken fried steak both tasted old and had no crunch. 2 got eggs benedict the hollandaise sauce was broken and my eggs were not done, they still had raw whites. I stopped into Luna's Bistro this past weekend for dinner before a movie. The menu has a fair emount of variety and our meals were pretty flavorful. I got the fish and chips with cod and the batter was just right, with a little crunch. My husband ordered a French dip that looked equally delicious. And oddly enough, Luna's probably has some of the best beer-battered fries we've had in Bellingham. I'm definitely giving an extra star for Luna's because of the cute, date night ambiance and the super fast turnaround on our order. We had plenty of time to walk to the theater and get situated, without feeling rushed. The cocktail list was also really impresaive/interesting, so I'm looking forward to a return trip just for the drinks! read more

This wonderful gem of a place is located by the movie theater and so may not be on your radar for a dining experience but the food and drinks are amazing. Liliana and Carolyn provided incredible friendly service. We dined Al fresco but the ambiance inside is very comfortable. I wish that I took pictures of the food but it got consumed pretty quickly. Ended up here because our car needed charging. What a delight. The staff here were incredibly helpful and friendly. Service was excellent. So helpful. Sandwiches and hamburgers were both on sale because it was the end of the night. So good deals to be had. We had the wine of the month. A very yummy offering from Tuscany. A detailed tasting notes guide was provided. The best part was that we needed to hang around until our car was charged but the restaurant closed much sooner. It was very cold and we were unfamiliar with the neighborhood. Our waitress looked up local restaurants and found one that was open for a few more hours and offered to give us a ride over! Crazy! While the food was great there were a few things that you need to know before you go. 1) Refills are not free. 1b) When I asked for a refill I was not made aware that refills are extra. 2) Servers are scantily attired and it reminded me of Hooters. Plus, they spent time hanging out in the corner goofing off instead of taking care of empty plates. 3) There's an added kitchen fee. No idea what this is so I'm going to guess that the server's tips aren't shared with the cook staff. I ordered the three cheese halibut mac and it was delicious. I would love to order it again in the future, but I think I'll see if I can order for take out instead. read more

Both meals were super tasty! My pasta was very garlicky and heavy Alfredo sauce that was soooo good! The chicken was greatly seasoned and was crunchy! Only downside was the steak was asked to be cooked at medium well and it came well done. Other than that, everything was so tasty. I joined fellow Ladies who Lunch for a rainy Friday gathering, and we decided to try here since it was uncharted territory. I got the bacon burger with caramelized onions, and my dining companions had the fish tacos with truffle fries, and the chicken sandwich on rye. I'm pretty sure Luna's has the best fries in town... Crispy, flavorful, PIPING HOT, and I kept eating them long after my stomach told me to stop because I might explode. The chicken sandwich looked awesome, and the fish tacos had huge pieces of halibut in them. You know it's a good place when other guests' lunches come out and you regret your choice, even while basking in it's deliciousness. The mushroom soup and sandwich, the fun looking apps... our mouths were watering each time for was dropped. That pretty much solidified our resolve to return to try everything on the menu. We tried to have dinner here this evening. We were told it was approximately a 15 minute wait..after 30 minutes I went to make sure we were still on the list. We were seated shortly after that. We got settled at our table and were waiting to order when the hostess came over to tell us they were shutting the kitchen down to catch up on orders. We decided to leave since we were dining with our 4 year old, had already waited over 30 minutes for a table and there was no telling how long it was going to take to get our food. When I went to order their drinks, special coconut mojito. They were out of mint. So that was disappointing so I had a coconut drink. The food was really subpar.
