Staff was great. The only issue is more of a structural issue. The pole in front of the bar prevents the bartender from seeing the tables. Not sure much can be done about it. The entrance was fantastic easy for disabled or elderly. No bushes for bees to harass you. Makes my family want to come back because unlike the rest of Bellingham this place is accessibility friendly. The patio doors didn't really need to be opened where bugs could come in. They had really good AC so it seemed odd all the doors were open. ‍ Now for the food. The bread was good the olive oil was high quality with fresh garlic. The salad was really good. However I got the prawn arancini & unfortunately I don't recommend it. The flavors were fine but it was the oiliest food I've ever had since I was a child. It was like the old school pizzas that you could ring the oil out of. I took it home & made a bowl of rice added lemon peel & lemon juice some basil & black pepper & it was 100% better. But at the restaurant they don't have that. I do plan on coming back to try other stuff because I honestly think it's going to be a fav place. The food was great, staff was good, but I really hate deceptive pricing. There is a 20% service fee added onto everything. The prices on the menu are 20% too low, and even more so if you do the American thing and are guilted into tipping extra. I will come here again when the dishonest pricing is fixed. read more

We returned to Lombardi's, one of our favorite spots in Bellingham, the food was just as phenomenal as I remembered. I was crushed to learn they've sunsetted their Wedge Salad (it was one of the best I've ever had), but the house salads with creamy Gorgonzola dressing more than made up for it. All of their dressings are made in-house and absolutely fantastic. For entrees, I had the Scampi Diavolo delicious, even if it didn't pack quite as much heat as before. My dining partner had the Mushroom Ravioli and loved it. We finished with a decadent tiramisu, which was the perfect way to cap the night. Our server, Josh, was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and one of the best we've had in a long time. Overall, a 10/10 experience. We'll definitely be back. read more

Upon further inspection of the menu we found some competitive options. To begin, it was quiet on Tuesday, almost too quiet. The server was chatty but looked like he had one too many shrimps on the wine tasting barbie, but he hadn't, that was just how he looked according to the missus. Rapid service though, and we decided on the olive plate for $11,000. Sorry 11 -typo. Siri erase that. Olives were delectable to preface our chicken parmagiano and saltimbocca Lots of meat on the plate which was good because it was $30. About one mouse's serving pasta however, but that's okay. I was already too full from the heavenly heaven sent olive oil and olives and foccacia which were more than enough. Everything seemed perfect save for a little distraction being a phone addicted child ruining the ambiance with his cocomelon and attitude. Quality location for a walk, a stroll even, for a romantic night out with the wife to be. I ordered a pizza, only to find out they do not know how to make the dough. Either they use a pre made dough such as Pillsbury or they make it without letting it rise at all. To me it tasted like a Pillsbury product. Is. Their dough is similar to a non sweet cake crust. My advice is to stay away from pizza at this place. Take your chance on trying other items on their menu... Something I won't do... We were seated quickly and then forgotten...A busboy brought us our water and then the waiter came for our order. The food that we ordered looked like it was microwaved and my wife's alfredo had ZERO taste. Our water glasses were empty or 15 minutes and our waiter was no where to be seen. We visited for an anniversary lunch. We had high expectations as friends abs family love this place. Sadly, we found it very corporate and not warm and friendly.. maybe it's me and this is the vibe they are going for. The food was good but not great. I would have expected to be writing a different review .. the board out front stated "tomato" soup. I was served clam chowder.. which was good but again not great. What was great was the chocolate mousse dessert... the the waiter was very very good..but this place will not be our first choice for Italian in Bellingham...now we know. I enjoyed a delicious Sicilian Lamb Meatball dish here on a surprisingly busy Thursday evening. The dish itself was unique with an incredible amount of flavors, including grapes, oranges, tomato, onions, mint, figs, and pomegranates on top of plentiful lamb meatballs, completed by the garlic pappardelle nestled underneath. While the seating can be a bit tight, it creates an intimate dining setting with a gorgeous view of the water. The waiters were attentive without being overbearing, and kindly let us stay after closing time as we chatted the night away in the cozy restaurant. The remainder of the salad was a written. When I mentioned to the server that the food was not as written, he offered me more salad dressing, but no other comment. Later I called the restaurant to give feedback about the meal, and was told there had been other complaints about the cod, yet they were going to keep it on the menu for another week. It would have been wonderful to be offered a gift certificate to regain my confidence in eating at Lombardi's again, but that never happened. This is our go-to for a night out in Bellingham. The food and service have always been top-notch. The Sicilian Lamb Meatball pasta is one of the most unique dishes I have ever had, and is perfectly executed! I have also enjoyed the Tortellini with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce and the Shrimp Fra Diavlo. The best deal in town is their Italian Supper Club. Available Monday's 3pm to close and Tuesday-Friday 3-5pm. A 3-course meal for $27! They always have local beers and wines on tap (yes, wine on tap!). And check out their seasonal cocktails! Make sure to sign up for their VIP club so you will get emails about special events. We love Italian food, So we decided on Lombardi's. We haven't been there since they opened up for in house dining. We love the decor and the water view. It's a relaxing atmosphere made me feel like I was in Italy. Our waitress Gwendolyn was outstanding, she was helpful regarding the menu I give her 5 stars for her service. I would have given 5 stars for our food, but only gave 4 stars because my meal was a little off. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiano and my Husband ordered the Roman Style Lasagna. The vegetables that came with my Chicken Parmigiano were done perfectly, the buttered Fettuccine was cooked to perfection. The flavors of the whole meal was delicious. But my breaded chicken medallion were over cooked. The beaded crust was over cooked which made the chicken dry and hard to cut into. All the flavors of the tomato sauce, parmesan and the buttered fettuccine was perfect. My Husband's Lasagna was the star of the day. It was truly delicious. The cream sauce and the combination of the tomato sauce was amazing. The portions of both meals were more than enough. We talked to our Waitress Gwendolyn about my chicken and she was so kind and was quick to rectify our meal. She was truly good at her job and we will totally return to Lombardi's. Ok. I used to love this place. I made of point of going here on my birthday and also anytime we attended an event in Bellingham. That all changed last night. I have ordered the same dish the last 3-4 times, which is their chicken parmigiano Italian Supper Club offering. It has always been good. Last night was a mess. The brussel sprouts were so burnt I initially thought they might be sauteed mushrooms - bitter and terrible. The sauce on the fettucine was clearly broken. The chicken cutlet breading was so over-cooked that I could barely get through it with a knife. For the disaster that was this meal, they offered me $10 off and asked if I was satisfied with that, which puts me on the spot to accept or look "difficult". Never again. Too bad.. it used to be a thing I really looked forward to. read more

I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed. I know quite a few people that enjoy Lombardi's. These reviews were a major part in my choice to bring my wife in for our anniversary. We knew going in that it would be expensive, but for the food we had, it was not worth it. My wife actually joked that we should've stayed home and ordered DQ. It may be fast food, but at least it's tasty. To be fair, the calamari appetizer was really good! So many places get calamari wrong. It's usually overcooked with the consistency of jerky, but Lombardi's has this 100% correct. The calamari was tender and flavorful. Then our food arrived and it took a turn. I ordered the chicken parmigiana. It was 3 pressed discs of chicken with a side of fettuccine and 3 pieces of asparagus. The chicken parm was burned on the bottom and the meat was tough and overcooked. The fettuccine was so al dente that I couldn't twirl it on my fork. My wife was actually laughing watching me trying to eat it. The asparagus was also al dente. I ate a little of each item, but quit about 25% of the way through. It was terrible. It didn't even taste good. My wife ordered the mahi mahi. Her asparagus was also al dente and when she started eating her fish, she was constantly spitting out bones. She finished half the fish and gave up. She said the rice beneath the fish was terrible and she only took one bite. She tried a few bites of asparagus, but gave up on that too. When we met all those years ago, we shared a slice of tiramisu, so we ordered that and... also terrible. We each had a bite or two and asked for the check. Our server, heard our concerns and decided to give us $10 off our meal. While she was nice and well meaning, $10 off of a $120 meal somehow feels worse than just paying full price. I'm pretty fair with my reviews and I try not to pick on little things, but again, this was an expensive meal for us on our anniversary, and instead of a lovely dinner, we just enjoyed the dark comedy of a shared bad experience... and a cup of noodles when we got home. read more

Bait and switch. We made reservations for Mother's Day based off the selections and prices on the online lunch menu. When we arrived for our 12:45 reservations, we were told that they were only serving off of the much more expensive dinner menu, obviously to maximize profits on Mother's Day. Pros: The view of the boats..Inside dining also al fresco...lovely place to view the bay...and friendly efficient service. A great place by the bay for the view, docks boats and for drinks. Open seating, Covid partitions. Cons: Deck not open, tho admjttedly it was blustery outside. No heat lamps? The chicken marsala was tasty but dry and a little sinewy....the pasta also served dry, maybe more sauce or sauce on the side. The green beans were perfectly al dente. Chose trio special so also had a nice Caesar salad and a beautifully presented mousse with a pirouette cookie garnish for dessert, .... caesar salad was good, piled high with parm cheese....and one of 2 servers put ground pepper on tableside. 5 pm, very loud in restaurant, even tho only lightly busy. Overall would be a fun place to sit on deck and enjoy the boats birds and sounds of the marina. If only we could've sat outside. Food was hit and miss. My friend enjoyed the skewered shrimp on a big salad. We also enjoyed sharing her mixed olive salad. and she loved the salted caramel gelato. Our first time visit: My wife and I went there for our 37th anniversary dinner. Arrived at 7:45 pm (reservation) due to working late... no problem. (Closing at 9pm) They gave us all the time we needed to eat, drink, and enjoy ourselves. Never pushed us to order, eat fast, or leave. Very, very polite service! Food was very good; Main dishes and appetizers. The drinks were tasty and made well. We left full and extremely satisfied with everything. Both of us born and raised in Bellingham, we found this not only one of the better places we've ever eaten at in town, but also found the prices very reasonable for what they provided us during our visit! Overall excellent experience! Food was delightful. Not pictured was the delicious 'Pesto Clams' and 'Rosemary Focaccia Bread' we had before our main course. Clams were in classic white wine sauce, but with a unique twist of adding pesto into the broth. We also ordered the 'Scampi Diavolo' and the 'Sicilian Lamb Meatballs'. The scampi was light, refreshing, and full of flavor. The meatballs had a wonderful blend of hearty, savory, and sweet flavors with the added grapes and figs to the sauce. Service was excellent! Our server was very kind and had many recommendations for us upon our arrival. There was also a wonderful display of teamwork. We were also helped by many other workers besides our waiter which was great if we ever needed something. Price was great for the quality of food you get there. The view was beautiful! There were options for indoor and outdoor seating. My only criticism was the bread that was served was room temperature. I went to lombardis for the first time a couple weeks ago with my partner for date night, and we have been talking about the food ever since which prompted me to write this review. I got a red sauce pasta and she got a fish dish. Both were amazing, and the appetizers were phenomenal. Overall on the expensive end of dinner, and they charge a fee to all customers which they state is to cover employee wages. I would probably just include that into the cost of the meal and service, as this is the first restaurant of this caliber I have ever been to that has an entire paragraph written about why they charge this fee....
