My son and I just left the lunchbox over in Bellaire, service was slow and waitresses was very unfriendly. My son ordered a steak sandwich it was lousy, it came on a slice of bread no side and loaded with fat! My sandwich was s chicken salad which was very small for the price. The worst meal I have had in a very long time. Ordered a grill cheese sandwich with tomato and avocado. The avocado was yellow! Not even close to ripe. If one doesn't know what a ripe avocado looks like, one shouldn't serve it. The tomato was unruly and thickly sliced. Would have been better to inform me that these items weren't available. Also ordered a side of home fries. The potatoes were undercooked, not brown and swimming in oil. My partner had an egg that had the aluminum from the pan on the egg. Dave & Julie were fantastic & they cheered us up a great deal with their warmth, kindness & humor over our being kicked out of the Bellaire Inn by the inn's crazy psycho owner for having the audacity to ask for more towels before 11 AM! Thanks for restoring our love for Bellaire after we lost it due to the psycho "bitty". You guys ROCK! The food here is fantastic! Homemade bread for the sandwiches & the desserts are to die for! Everything is by scratch & homemade fabulous! Prices are beyond reasonable! This cafe is a real gem! I wish you were in the Detroit area, like around northern Oakland County! :-) If we're ever in Bellaire again I'll look forward to visiting & having lunch with y'all again! Went there for breakfast on a Sunday, no menu on Sundays only the buffet or made to order omelette. My Wife and I ordered omelettes which were just ok. Hers came out first and 15 minuets later mine came. She ate and her plate was cleared from the table before I even had a chance to eat. Tried a few things on the buffet. The hash browns were soggy since they are sitting in a steam bath and the bacon was limp and greasy. All reasons why I don't like buffets. With other breakfast options close by not sure if we'll go back Update: Went back on a Saturday recently to order off the menu to compare to the Sunday buffet. No comparison, menu items were great. I feel I'm being generous giving 3 stars. 2 of us stopped in Sunday morning before heading downstate and were disappointed. The server was good but it was clear the kitchen staff had no idea what was going on. It took us about an hour to receive our meals (along with everyone else inside) which is way to long for 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns and a pancake. My fiancé received the wrong pancake after the wait but it wasn't worth complaining or sticking around for a new one. Ohh yea by the way that ONE pancake was $4!!! Won't be returning. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Staff is incredibly rude. I went there with my family for breakfast and we wanted to sit outside. There are two tables outside to which we were told we could not combine due to city rules. We were also told we could not add a chair to the table due to city rules and owner rules. Ok, that's fine. We went inside to see if we needed to place our order inside or if a server would come out. The server (assuming owner's sister) rudely said, "WE'VE ALL HAD OUR SHOTS!" If you have seats outside, let your patrons sit out there and don't be rude. Needless to say we left and will never return. read more

Stopped in this morning with my daughter and 2 grandchildren. Was told there would be a 10-15 min wait, told we could wait outside and they would let us know.. 25 min later we stepped inside and asked to be seated and 1 of the many empty tables. Had to ask several times for bill, never received it. Went to the cashier - was charged for 3 adults and 3 drinks.. told them it was 2 adults and 1 child, and only 1 drink. The waitress left the cash register to go inspect our table as apparently she felt we were lying to her about the drinks. Adjusted the bill with an attitude. Never would I ever step back in. The table off male bikers received premier services.. although they did take their coffee away from them that was brought in and throw them in the trash as "no outside food allowed". There were 3 of us and the waitress said if more people came in we may have to share the table as it sat a total of 8 although it was just 2 tables pushed together and could have been easily separated. A group of 5 came in (of which there were enough empty seats for them to sit). The waitress came over and said she had to move us to the bar so she could sit the other people. She was rude and didn't even give the option of sitting the other people at our table like she had previously said. No smile, no conversation (even when customer initiated), didn't ask if we needed anything else, which we did, and I saw her interacting with other guests who got the same treatment. Just set our food down and walked away. When I realized I hadn't received my English muffin, I told the server, but it was the older woman who brought it out, doing the same thing- not. A. Word. The food was good and not too unreasonably priced. Our waitress was nice but they take way too long to cook their food...... We stopped in for a quick brunch before heading down south from the weekend and ended up being there for too long. The kitchen staff looked like she was running around and working really hard but was just not making progress. One of the older ladies tried to pass it off as having so many more people visiting during the summer but it really comes down to looking unorganized in back or making everything thing from scratch without having anything that could be prepped in advance being done.
