Pasta special with lobster, shrimp and scallops
    Larry S.

Dinner here after a long day of air travel and driving. And after a muffin at 10:00 AM and a small pretzel dog at 2:30, we were tired and hungry. Lakeview is open, socially distanced tables and decorated very well. We were able to score a window table with lake view. Tired and aching from long times sitting while traveling, I opted for a top shelf margarita. Well made and very potent, just what I needed. We were served Parmesan garlic rolls that were piping hot and delightful. My wife ordered the pasta special with shrimp, lobster and scallops. It was flavorful and delicious, with huge shrimp and chunks of lobster. A friend suggested while we were in Michigan we should try the whitefish. So I ordered the Macadamia nut encrusted baked whitefish with mixed veggies. It looked amazing but was disappointingly bland. So much so that I asked for cayenne pepper and salt, which helped. I did also try my wife's pasta which was very flavorful. Service was excellent, especially in prime Friday evening dinner service. A bit pricey at $75, excluding the tip.

The view is the only thing working here. The food was eh and didn't make me want to return. The price was over the top of the quality of the meal and I will just stop there. Won't be back unless I can walk through and enjoy the view.

Love Potion Martini & Short's on tap

This restaurant is a nice place to celebrate a special occasion while in Shanty Creek Resort. Food was great, nice ambience, and social distancing was facilitated with the table placements. Had Valentine's Day dinner while overlooking night-time tubing, which was pretty cool. Since we had to wait to be seated, the hostess offered free drinks to my husband and me, which was a really great gesture. I tried their Love Potion Martini, a V-Day special, and my husband tried Short's on tap. He was surprised how good it was especially with it being so dark. Our entrees were superb! The desserts...I probably would not get the Tiramisu Cheesecake again. I love Tiramisu! As a cheesecake, I took one bite and that was it for me. My husband's Profiterole Sundae...delicious and huge! We probably should have just shared that one dessert. This was our first time dining there, and we would definitely go back.

Referring to the weekend brunch- picked over, cafeteria-esque type food. Definitely not worth $16 per person. Quality is lackluster

Not too hot and had a great crispy texture. It was the pizza that did it for me. I ordered a personal pizza, no sauce, pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeño. Yes, pineapple belongs on pizza! The crust was the star. But I love how it came out hot and the cheese had such a sick cheese pull. When you're up here, make sure you visit this spot. The servers and bartenders made our group feel at home! Also, I know the bartender didn't think I noticed... but I was really appreciative of him not changing the golf tournament we were watching when the guy requested the Tigers game. Mad respect there.

If you're seeing a giant neon PIZZA sign you've found it. The food itself was okay enough but nothing overly special, especially for the price. The atmosphere was very comfortable though and the guy who runs the place seems to care a lot which was nice to see. They also have live music if you're into that. All in all I'd say if you're on the resort (or staying less than a mile away like we were) it's a good close option but I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here.

It's such a great place to grab a bite, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. The service was fast and exceptional. Our food came out quickly and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. We started with the fried pickles, which were SO good! Although, I have to say, they may want to consider renaming them because they were actually more like a ham, cheese, and pickle egg roll--and honestly, I'm not mad about it because they were delicious! We also ordered the shrimp tacos, which were super flavorful and yummy, and the signature cheeseburger with everything on it, which was cooked absolutely perfectly. Everything hit the spot after being out on the lake. We got the onion rings which were perfectly crispy and sweet potato fries that maybe could've been a fried a little bit longer but still good! Definitely a great casual spot to stop by if you're spending the day on Torch Lake. The convenient location, fun marina atmosphere, quick service, and solid food make this a place I'd happily come back to!

Cod basket - some pieces were not fully cooked and the nachos had way too much cabbage and not enough cheese. Service by our original server was okay, but she jumped ship and was replaced by a little older young woman (short, dark hair) who was lovely. On balance, you're here for convenience and sunset views only
