Congratulations Lindsay and Nolan on your engagement! We were able to share in this amazing day and celebrated at The Lakeview restaurant for dinner and YES they do have Million-Dollar sunset views overlooking Lake Bellaire! The Lakeview experience went above and beyond to make this evening special for the newlyweds and the guests. We dined in and I selected the prime rib special with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The prime rib was medium rare perfectly cooked. The taste was on point and everything came out to the table hot and ready. Our server was very personable and very fun to interact with. Her name Tag said the grumpy old lady but her name was Cheryl. She was not grumpy at all They did not have a Merlot but offered others options. I enjoyed a glass of a red blend and it was delicious. The menu had so many food options it was like trying to pick a favorite star in the heavens. Was here for a conference. As we were winding down the evening , we ordered some food from the restaurant. I really appreciate Erin, as they were under staffed and she continued to keep her professional composure and server everyone with a smile. I had to wait for the order, but knowing that they were doing their best with the circumstances. The icing on the top, was after we got our food, it was two minutes to close and we wanted a dessert and Erin made it possible to scoop up a couple of scoops of dessert. Dinner here after a long day of air travel and driving. And after a muffin at 10:00 AM and a small pretzel dog at 2:30, we were tired and hungry. Lakeview is open, socially distanced tables and decorated very well. We were able to score a window table with lake view. Tired and aching from long times sitting while traveling, I opted for a top shelf margarita. Well made and very potent, just what I needed. We were served Parmesan garlic rolls that were piping hot and delightful. My wife ordered the pasta special with shrimp, lobster and scallops. It was flavorful and delicious, with huge shrimp and chunks of lobster. A friend suggested while we were in Michigan we should try the whitefish. So I ordered the Macadamia nut encrusted baked whitefish with mixed veggies. It looked amazing but was disappointingly bland. So much so that I asked for cayenne pepper and salt, which helped. I did also try my wife's pasta which was very flavorful. Service was excellent, especially in prime Friday evening dinner service. A bit pricey at $75, excluding the tip. read more

They are in the middle of construction so while we were there workers were putting things away and such. Our waitress was great. Burgers were good but none of got them cooked the way we ordered them. The prime ribs were also not cooked as ordered. 2 of the prime ribs were spoiled or something as they tasted and smelled rotten. The desserts were on the wrong bill as well. I hadn't had a meal here since Thanksgiving of 2018, a year after our wedding we had in the restaurant in August of 2017. Sadly the quality of the dining experience has diminished. I made a reservation for 6 I specifically asked for a view as we were entertaining out of town guests. They couldn't bother to set a table for us. The menu is limited, I can live with that. But they could not substitute a small dinner salad for the potato on the dish. The thin Rib Eye was $32 and not cooked to my request. I had 2 broccoli florets on my plate and a half scoop of Risotto. The deserts other that the Cheesecake was decent the Pineapple dessert was a joke. Service was Excellent, Connie did a great job. The floor manager came by and heard our complaints and shrugged them off. The bill for the table was $350 and next time we will not waste our time here. It's a shame. The location is great. For goodness sake go to the culinary school in TC and hire one of their graduates- some young chef would relish the opportunity. read more

If I coukd give 0 stars I would. The resort as a whole is great but PLEASE do not eat here. There was no less than 25 people in the entire restaurant and a group of us all received our food and I was the only one who did not. To try and make my steak quicker they sent it out completely raw. I am begging you not to give them your money. It might be okay at best but there is a high chance that they give you raw food and then the manager will come over and say "but can you eat it?" This restaurant is a nice place to celebrate a special occasion while in Shanty Creek Resort. Food was great, nice ambience, and social distancing was facilitated with the table placements. Had Valentine's Day dinner while overlooking night-time tubing, which was pretty cool. Since we had to wait to be seated, the hostess offered free drinks to my husband and me, which was a really great gesture. I tried their Love Potion Martini, a V-Day special, and my husband tried Short's on tap. He was surprised how good it was especially with it being so dark. Our entrees were superb! The desserts...I probably would not get the Tiramisu Cheesecake again. I love Tiramisu! As a cheesecake, I took one bite and that was it for me. My husband's Profiterole Sundae...delicious and huge! We probably should have just shared that one dessert. This was our first time dining there, and we would definitely go back. read more

Went there for Mother's day 2021, got seated right by the window with a great view overlooking Lake Bellaire. Had cocktails and dinner. Drinks were good, cold and dinner was awesome. If you're going to eat and drink, you're going to spend $100. I would go back and would recommend it to friends and family. read more

I've been to the Lakeview Restaurant on three different occasions during my stays at Shanty Creek Resort. I would love to give this venue a better review because it has potential. The view overlooking Lake Bellaire is breathtaking. Several tables are located in a cantilevered overhang with floor to ceiling window. The food was delicious and presented well. The reason for my two star review is regarding service, or lack thereof. Sadly this appears to be a management issue. The staff individually are friendly in their interactions. However, the serve to table / patron ratio is dismal at best. This leads to unacceptable wait time for first contact with a server and then waiting for a bill once you're finished. Utterly unacceptable and unfair to the servers who appear greatly overworked. I think with proper server staffing to improve the noted issues from not just my review but several reviews they could easily increase their ratings... read more

We had their breakfast buffet. For $20 a person it was not worth it. Eggs to order station was decent and made from real eggs, but everything else was lackluster. No fresh fruit (other than maybe some blueberries), muffins and pastries were store bought, meats were decent but not amazing. Best thing they had was a potato prime rib dish but the potatoes had clearly been frozen and prime rib was leftover from their other buffet and therefore dry. They had a decent amount of options (including cereal, oatmeal, and yogurt), but quality was lacking. I'd save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Very dissatisfied with the lack of flavor for a $24 pasta dish that didn't even include a side or salad. We ordered the salted Carmel brownie cheesecake and I was shocked that even that was tasteless. It's pretty hard to mess up cheesecake but they managed to do that. Will never go back. The service was extremely slow. We didn't order our food u til after being seated for 30mins. Also the waitress seemed extremely disinterested in serving us. I also hate to bring up the receipt card, but we were all minorities. One being a Muslim and she had her scarf/wrap on. We only were brought one serving of bread and there were seven of us. Our golf group is doing a four day stay and play at Shanty Creek Golf Resorts. We made reservations for dinner following our first round of golf. The first issue was that parking was impossible! We arrived at the Lakeview Restaurant 30 minutes before our 7:00 reservation and there were ZERO parking spots in any lot near the restaurant, hotel, or golf course! I circled the are for 30 minutes and parked illegally on the grass somewhere in the next zip code. We were seated at a table that would accommodate 16 guys, unfortunately we had 20 in our group. We had two servers assigned to our table and that was a couple short. It took over 30 minutes before we were served drinks and water. Liquid beverages are needed when you just finished 18 holes in the summer! Every menu choice is over priced by 100%. Most appetizers are $12.50 and most entrees are north of $25. A bottle of beer costs $4.50! Water is free. However, you have to beg to get a refill. Everything is a la cart, which means if you want a starch it's $4 extra, if you want a soup, it's $6 extra, if you want a salad it's $8.50 extra, if you want mushrooms with your steak it's $4 extra, if you want onions with your steak, it's $4 extra. You get the picture. Service was the slowest I've ever experienced. Our dinner choices didn't arrive until an hour and a half after we had ordered. The final blow was our bill included a 19% tip for our over priced extremely poor dinner and service! It took over 30 minutes to get our checks following dinner. We were all very tired and couldn't wait to get to our rooms. This excessive wait was cruel and unusual. I know I said that the final blow was the included 19% tip but perhaps I was wrong. When I payed my check with cash, the waitress asked if I wanted my change back! These guys need to re-evaluate their business model for this restaurant. We will be eating off site for the rest of our stay. Oh, by the way, we did not get out of the restaurant for our 2 and 1/2 hours. This made an extremely long day, not to mention the hike to get to our cars and drive back to our rooms 200 feet from the restaurant! read more

If I could give a zero star I would. Service was terrible, it took 20 minutes for the waitress to come over after she serviced a huge party then went on talking about hot sauce for 3 minutes. We ordered burgers because the food was soooo overly expensive so we ordered 15 dollar burgers (dollar extra for the cheese) and they were greasy and disgusting. The waitress finally came over to check on us and we had eaten half. It was after 9 pm and had already waited for service! She went to take to the manager where according to the waitress they bartered over 10% off the bill or 20%. When the waitress told me this I asked her to send this manager whoever. The manager came over and was so rude and unpleasant telling me she would have made something else for us. I said how could they be offered when no one came to check on us! I had to fight to get half the bill paid and frankly it should have been free! It was grotesque. I would never ever return to this place. Gross food that is way over priced.
