Food Stall

I added this business and posted the first review on this page back in April 2025, but for some reason Yelp decided to move it over to the food truck location. Just moving it back to the correct location after noticing the move more than a year later (Yelp doesn't give notification for some reason). I was getting groceries next door and decided to wander over to the Asian Street Food food hall for lunch, eventually settling on the Taiwanese biandang place, Lunch on the Plate. This seems to be the first B&M location for a food truck that roams around SLU. They sell a variety of different lunch boxes, with a kiosk in front of the stall for easy ordering. My food took about 10 minutes for them to fry up and assemble and soon I was digging in. Old School Fried Pork Chop Bento ($16.49) - They package food up in a plastic container with the lid on and tied in a plastic bag. I opened everything up as soon I as I picked up the food in order to preserve the freshly cooked texture. Upon opening the container, the strong fragrance of five spice and white pepper hits the nose, indicating liberal use on the two included pork chops. The pork chops are lightly breaded with coarse sweet potato starch and fried to a light crisp. They are exceptionally flavorful with the aforementioned spices and salt. There's a rim of fat along one side of each chop, conserving some of the moisture in the meat. The meat itself is not dried out or tough. On top of the fried pork chops, they scoop some minced preserved veggies, tangy, salty, and a bit spicy. Underneath the chops are a wide variety of vegetable based sides. There's corn in a butter and black pepper sauce, soft and tender stewed carrots, a mixture of cabbage, carrots, and black fungus, spinach, and finally half a marinated hard-boiled egg. This is all on a bed of perfectly cooked medium grain rice - fluffy but with a bite, allowing each individual grain to be felt. There's an excellent balance of protein, veggies, and rice, which is very well appreciated. Overall, the food feels more like home cooking rather than restaurant food, which is not a bad thing. It's probably way healthier and more nutritious than most restaurants around. (4/5) The food served at Lunch on the Plate is a bit on the pricey side, but portion sizes are pretty generous. It's a pretty good place to get a quick lunch after grocery shopping. Bathrooms - Larger ones as part of the food court.

I brought a friend with me to try here on a Saturday evening around 6pm. This is inside the Asian Family Market in Bel-Red and takes up a stall with other eateries around it while sharing a shared table and chair area for patrons to sit and eat at. Several foodies I followed on IG have been loving this place as of late, and the sheer number of people coming to their kiosks to place orders for their food reflected the hype I was seeing. They are best known for their big bento boxes of various kinds, and looking at their food on my phone made my mouth water. I got the braised pork hocks with bamboo bento, which came with the protein in the name of this dish along with corn, veggies and something that looked like tofu but wasn't. Maybe the food was left out a little too long, but the whole box and everything inside was lukewarm when I got it. I also didn't enjoy the overly chewy texture of the pork hocks, and the braised seasoning on it wasn't my favorite; it was salty and sweet yet something in the meat didn't complement that well. The hard-boiled egg and corn were actually my only favorite parts of the dish. My friend got the two-protein bento, one of the proteins also being the pork hocks. He also didn't enjoy the bento for the same reasons as me. I really wanted to enjoy this place and my food here but I couldn't get myself to finish the rest of the meat due to all the conflicting textures and taste. This was probably a one-off thing, and I'd like to give their fried proteins (fried pork chops, crispy fried chicken) a try the next time I come here.

Located in the food court of Asian Family Market, Lunch on the Plate is serving up Taiwanese comfort foods and bentos. They've got all the classics! We went with the Two Protein Bento with Popcorn Chicken & Classic Braised Dice Pork Belly and a Braised Beef Short Ribs + Beef Tendon Bento. Both came with corn, veggies, and half a boiled egg. Everything tasted super homey, warm, and familiar. You really can't go wrong here!

The roasted pork bento is incredibly value-packed! Crunchy roasted pork with crackling skin is insanely delicious, paired with herb seasoned pork, tea egg, fresh veggies and sweet corn over steamed rice; varied side veggies (spinach, pickled cabbage, pork liver) bring fantastic balanced nutrition and texture. Braised beef noodle boasts deeply concentrated spiced beef broth, ultra-tender braised beef and springy wheat noodles, fresh bok choy brightens up the whole bowl. Getting both meals together makes for an ultra-filling, flavorful Asian feast with layered savory tastes from roasted meat and slow-simmered beef soup.

Two Protein Bento with Pork Hock and Bamboo, and Spicy Pepper Chicken

I have been wanting to try this place from their food truck days, but never could due to their odd hours. Now that they have an actual shop inside Asian Family Mart, it makes it so much more convenient. I was able to order online and received a text message when it was ready for pickup by the time that was specified during the order. I ordered the two protein bento where you can choose which 2 proteins you want in addition to the accompaniments that included rice, corn, marinated egg, stir-fried cabbage, blanched spinach, and a a marinated tofu block. I chose the Spicy Pepper Chicken and Pork Hock with Bamboo Shoots as my proteins. Both were excellent. The Spicy Pepper Chicken was crispy, spicy (medium level-ish?) and flavorful. The pock hock portion was very generation and cooked to perfection. The skin was nice and gelatinous and the bamboo shoots added a slight stink to the dish (if you know, you know). The pork hock added a $4 additional charge as an option making my bento around $22. The portion was plentiful and I made it last 2 meals which I think is a pretty good deal. The parking in this plaza is decently sized, but if you are familiar with this popular Asian market/eatery plaza you'll know that it can get difficult during the busy meal times and sparse other times. So it really just depends when you go.

Sometimes Instagram influencers hype up the place too much and it's not real. And sometimes they aren't hyping it up enough! This place really does have the best beef noodle soup! The only thing I would say is that the the influencers had way more beef in their bowls than I did! Even the ones that said they didn't add extra. I'm sure the restaurant was a bit more generous for the promotion. But still, the beef noodle was amazing. The most flavorful, riches flavor I've had in the area. Meat was tender. Flavors were well balanced. I also love that because it's in a food court next to Asian Food Mart, there are many other restaurants nearby if the rest of your family want something else. Casual seating, bus your own table. Popcorn chicken was okay. Nothing great but also not bad. Pork hock was okay, not worth the upcharge in my opinion. The crispy chicken was really yummy.

Two Protein Bento (popcorn chicken and braised tofu)

I'm happy that Lunch on the Plate has a storefront after seeing their food truck around SLU. They are located in the Asian Family Market Food Hall in the front. Everything is ordered through the self order kiosk. I like that almost every item has a picture too. All items are packaged to go but there's self seating in the food market. I ordered the two protein bento and it was almost $20. I went with popcorn chicken and braised Taiwanese tofu. The popcorn chicken was crispy and flavorful. The braised tofu had two different types of tofu. I had a bite of my friend's pork chop and it was nicely crispy with no bone. I also had a side of tomato egg and it was okay - I wish there was more tomato flavor. Overall, lunch on the plate had a good selection of different items. The bentos were good but on the pricey end. I would like to they their beef noodle soup next time.

I saw a clip about the beef noodle soup at Lunch on the Plate. I decided that this was one of the places I had to try while visiting Seattle on this trip. I am staying near Southcenter in Tukwila, so it's around a 30 minute drive to Bellevue. I arrived shortly before closing on a weekday, it was a rainy day, so the food court was fairly empty. My first impression of their storefront was it looked very bright and clean. After studying their menu boards, I walked up to the counter to ask if they accepted cash payments. The worker said yes and took my order. I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered the beef noodle soup. He suggested that I add the beef and egg, which I did. The food took around 10 min, it wasn't too long of a wait. I absolutely loved this soup, the noodles were soft and a bit chewy. The broth was spicy and had lots of depth. The beef was soft and easily broke apart with my chopsticks. I did find it a bit difficult to enjoy the soup with the provided plastic spoon, I ended up drinking it from the bowl. When I first got the bowl of soup, I was worried it wasn't going to be enough to fill me, even though I wasn't too hungry... I was wrong, it was very filling. Since my first experience went well, I was driving back from up north and decided to stop at Lunch on the Plate again and pick up take out. This time I ordered the noodles, side order of pork chop, and the spicy chicken. The worker and I were talking and I was given a bento to try also. I absolutely loved everything I tried. I don't like cilantro and the sauce for the chicken had it; but I was able to eat it without the sace and still enjoy it. The bento had their braised pork hock and tofu with vegetables, both were very flavorful. The pork hock was cooked perfectly, it held together well, but wasn't tough. There was some kind of meat served over the rice, which reminded me of a chunky pork floss, that was very good. All of the food traveled and reheated well. I met a friend today for lunch here, again. My third time in a week; I would come back more but I leave later this afternoon. My friend and I both had the beef noodle soup, and each ordered a two protein bento. I got the pork chop and popcorn chicken. The employees here are very friendly, the food is reasonably priced and very good. Their food is also consistent, which is rare.

Braised Beef Noodle Soup (Choose Your Own Meat. Start From 9.99) - beef shank

We ordered two beef noodle (thick and thin) soup and tripe side dish. Soup was flavorful, beef tender (melts in your mouth), and noodle is chewy so great mouth feel. I do wish they had hot chili oil as I like mine spicy and the sriracha hot sauce they do have doesn't do the noodle justice. Quick and friendly service. I appreciate that they offer and can adjust the salt level to customer's taste. They are also thoughtful with to-go containers. Instead of simple basic plastic containers, they have the plastic to-go containers that split the noodles from the soup base. Definitely will be coming back again.

Yummy and worth the hype! Broth wasn't overly salty and the braised beef was done quite well. The restaurant lady was also super nice. Located inside Asian Family Mart. Highly recommend!

The food was amazing. I love the atmosphere of all the different restaurants in the food court. My favorite was the Braised Pork. The flavor was spectacular. Also I love the Spicy Pepper Chicken. I'll definitely be coming back. They did an amazing job.

Pork Hocks With Bamboo Pickles(B)

The pork hock was pretty good and very flavorful. I'd definitely recommend eating it with rice or another side since it's quite rich and on the salty side. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but ordering through the self-service kiosk was quick and efficient. It's conveniently located in the food court next to Asian Family Mart.

Lili the owner was super nice. She took the time to Explain the dish to us. They also have a food truck that is stationed most of the time @Lake Union by Amazon building. They are family owned restaurant. My favorite would have to be the Pepper Chicken & Braised Beef Noodles and you can add Tendon and other things you like. Everything was good. They are inside Asian Family Market a food court and have plenty of seats around. Must try!!!

My nephew was with us and so he said he wanted pizza. So my brother-in-law found Pagliacci pizza about a few blocks away. Upon arriving, the restaurant was already busy. Walking over to the counter, they had a few slices that you could choose from. They looked really good. However, my older sister decided to order two whole pizzas. The counter person was really helpful and my sister decided on one plain cheese and pepperoni pizza and the second was a sausage mushroom pizza. We didn't order any other drinks since we were still thirsty from our walk around the botanical park but the total for the two pizzas came out to $50. That's kind of pricey. We were able to find a nice family sized round table. We were able to get a few cups and got some waters and the usual time for our pizzas to be delivered to our table. I can understand why this restaurant is busy as the pizzas were really good. We waiting for our pizzas and more families sat down and ordered pizzas while others walked in. Got a slice or came in to pick up their phone orders. Even a police officer was patiently waiting for his order to be ready. I would recommend this place and would frequent this restaurant if I lived in Bellevue.

We ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, and the unique, wide pasta truly set it apart from what you typically find at other restaurants. Since we were still hungry, we also tried the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which came with spicy sausage. While I expected more of a vodka flavor, the bold kick of the spicy sausage made it intriguingly flavorful. We couldn't resist today's special dessert, the Panna Cotta. Overall they were really friendly in inviting us in, bringing water, and letting us use the space for puzzles. For me specifically, they ...kind of dropped the ball on all of it. One person told me she'd bring me a menu once I was seated, but proceeded to pass me by when handing out menus (maybe because I already had water? Unclear. I tried to flag her down but she either didn't see me or ignored me). When I got up to ask about it, a different person just looked expectantly for me to order. When I told her I hadn't received a menu yet, she just gestured at the to go menu on the counter. When the pizza came, there were no napkins or utensils or anything given to me either. Throughout the whole hour and a half I was there, no one so much asked how I was doing despite that seeming to be standard for all the parties around me (including another one with only one person, so it wasn't because I was a Singleton working on puzzles!). The pizza I got was the aggressive mushroom one, which was great on mushrooms but oddly overly sweet, so I probably wouldn't get it again. The texture of the pizza was great though. Overall, the place was nice for puzzles and the food was good (just not what I expected for my order, but that's not really their fault). It was just a really weird night of service of feeling like they were snubbing me for no reason. It would be different if that's how they treated everyone or at least everyone who was puzzling solo, but the other person at my same table who was working solo got much better and nicer service than I did. :/
