This is a 4 star pending 5 star. I want to come back and dine in before finalizing my review. We ordered takeout this time and it was pretty smooth. Once the order is ready they will text you. The place itself is pretty chill. They have a variety of items besides from pizza, but emphasizing pizza. We got the Al pastor pizza, and a chicken bake with Caesar salad. The pizza was pretty good. I love the flavor and everything is balanced. The crust was a little on the chewy side for my taste but everything else was really good. We even left some to eat for cold pizza and it was probably one of the best cold pizza we had in a really long time hahaha. If you're in the Newport Hills or Factoria area, this is a fun little find. The pizzas are decent sized, with perfectly crunchy/crusty crust. I ordered the space cowboy pizza, which was flavorful and had a decent amount of toppings, although I wish there hadn't been quite so much crust on the edges. There was plenty of seating inside, but there was a really big and noisy group in the center, so it was really difficult to hear above them. I'm not sure if there's typically much in the way of service but other than bringing us our food and drinks (and finally a to go box), that's all we got, so don't expect much. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to return here but if I'm in the area again, I wouldn't mind trying some other pizzas! read more

On this visit with a friend we were celebrating the start of summer! I enjoyed a 16 oz Vienna Lager which was light and refreshing. For beverage number two I had a small gold digger kolsch. Also a lighter summer drinking style beer. I appreciate that you can order different sizes. And of course they offer flights. My friend had a "biggie" sized seltzer. The biggie is 22 oz I believe. We shared the artichoke dip served with warm triangle shaped bread. I believe it's pita bread baked in house. Super yummy and great for sharing! Service here is always friendly and the music popping! I have been coming here since 2018 and the beer has been pretty consistent--not great, not bad in any way. Pizza used to have a flavorful fermented crust that set it above and apart from other pizza spots. They stopped doing this years ago and my most recent stop here is probably my last. Beer is just ok, same as it always was, pizza is not nearly as good as it was and you can get better closer to you now. This place is not easy to get to if you don't live in Newport Hills and I won't burn gas to get here anymore. Pizza was lame enough on my last visit that my daughter called it out. Resonate's pizza is bar none the best I have ever had anywhere. And that includes Pagliacci, and Northlake Tavern way back when it was great. In particular, the three amazing, high-quality cheeses they put on their pepperoni pizza is like a symphony in your mouth. I would just avoid adding their olives, which are green, not black, and possibly the saltiest thing I have ever had in my mouth. I doubt a teaspoon of salt would taste much saltier. After choking down one I did not eat any of the others. Why they don't offer high quality black olives, which do so much for pepperoni pizza IMO, is a head-scratcher for me. Though they brew their beer there, and they always have a stout or porter for me--I like to eat my beer with a knife and fork--I've never found it out of the ordinary. A can of Irish Death would be better. It's the pizza I go there for. But though it is my favorite place by far to have pizza, I have a bone to pick about one of the servers (most of their servers are fine): As a former fine dining restaurant server and shift manager, I'm familiar with the Washington state law that allows restaurant patrons to take partially consumed bottles of wine home with them in their cars if (a) it is resealed with its cork, and (b) they keep it in the trunk or other cargo area where humans don't normally sit. And don't touch it until they're parked at home. I'm a light drinker, and one time I only drank about half a bottle of beer. I think it might have been a large bottle, I'm not sure. Wondering if the rule I knew so well for wine might apply to beer bottles too, I asked the server if it was possible to take it home. I supposed that the main issue might be whether they had a way to seal it, since the cap was no longer good for that. He didn't know, and said he'd find out. When he returned, he said no, and acted like it was the dumbest question anyone in the universe had ever asked, or ever could ask. I had a flashback of Dixie's BBQ on Northup way by I-405 (long closed), where surly sarcasm from knuckle-dragging employees was basically a brand. Curious, today I asked Google for help. I learned that the reason it's possible with wine is because there is a special carve-out in Washington state law just for wine. The carve-out does not apply to any other type of alcohol. So it doesn't matter if you can find a way to reseal the beer bottle. Because the carve-out is only for wine, not beer. I doubt that nuance is widely known. I think it's a reasonable question. As a former server, I have a piece of advice for that server: If you ask a question of a coworker, and they answer with sarcasm, you don't pass that sarcasm on to the customer when you pass on the answer. That's bad service. In my 6 years in restaurants, I was asked my share of dumb questions. But I would never have dreamed of letting on that I thought the question was dumb. Because that's an important part of what good service is. But again, most of the servers there are fine. read more

Came to Resonate post hike and very glad we did! Great selection of brews from a radler to IPAs to hazys to stouts, and each one distinct in its own right instead of being all in the same profile. Taster of 5 is $10. I had to do a flight so I didn't get fomo. I was craving tots (which they don't have) so opted for spinach artichoke dip as complementary to the beer. It was.... So good. I decided to swing by Resonate Brewery as recommended by a friend for their trivia night, and I also thought it would be a good opportunity to check out their food as majority of reviewers loved this place! I went on a Wednesday night around 7pm and there were luckily still some seats open. Parking for the establishment is plentiful, as the brewery shares spots with many other shops in the area. The brewery itself is a first come first serve in terms of seating. There are tables and booths scattered throughout the restaurant as well as outside, and there is a main bar area to the right side of the restaurant when you first walk in. Ordering is done through their QR code menu at each table, and you can choose to leave or close your tab through their online ordering system. Like majority of breweries that I have been to, service is extremely slow for food but fast for alcohol - which makes sense as alcohol requires much less effort. I would caution that if you are ordering food, budget 30 - 60 minutes to receive your order on busy nights (my pizza took 55 minutes just to arrive). While I understand that the servers are busy, it didn't help that it felt like they intentionally didn't look at my side of the room when trying to flag them down several times - which ended up in me chasing them down to get service attention. I also ordered a dessert like 20 minutes after my pizza and it somehow arrived 10 minutes earlier than the pizza itself, which arrived after I inquired about its status. I am pretty sure I wouldn't have received my pizza at all unless I asked about it. Now, about the food that I ordered which I'll review down below: Apeman Pint ($6.50): I think this was the best part of the whole meal - very quick service on drinks as you pretty much receive it immediately after you order. This beer had nice subtle malty flavor, was smooth, and had a refreshing aftertaste. Triple Trouble Pizza ($22.50): As mentioned earlier, my pizza took a really long time to come out - Though your mileage may vary. I think the unfortunate thing was that the pizza wasn't hot when I received it, it was lukewarm like it was sitting out for 20 minutes. The flavors were alright in terms of toppings, you can't really change much when it comes to a standard meat lovers-esque pizza. Personally, I would say it leans on the steeper side price wise for a pizza of this size - if you are really hungry, you could enjoy the whole pie by yourself. In comparison to other breweries that I have been to, this ranks on the lower end for quality. Ice cream with Brownie ($8.75): When I think brownies and ice cream, I usually think of a hot brownie that contrasts a cold ice cream since the temperature difference is what makes it great in my opinion. I feel that even for chain restaurants, you will receive a hot brownie, which makes it a bit disappointing to see that the brownie served was cold. Otherwise, the brownie had a decent airy cake texture with some chocolate chips sprinkled throughout. The almonds provided a nice crunch contrast to the smoothness of the ice cream and chewiness of the brownie. In the end, other reviews mention that the food is solid, but I can't say I agree and I don't recommend the food here. I would say that the beer and trivia were the best parts of Resonate brewery. I would definitely come back just for these items and likely pre-eat dinner beforehand. Despite the disappointing food service which makes up the majority of this review, the other activities that happen in the bar were fantastic and I would recommend those items as the things to check out instead. read more

I love this local pizza joint. I can have larger gatherings and chill with teenagers or adults and bring games. Pizzas are delicious. The only downside is side is the kale salad. Our party of 8 was seated right away on a picnic style table towards the middle of the restaurant around 6:30pm. The restaurant was 80% at capacity and I was surprised to see such a crowd on a random Wednesday but realized there was a Bingo night. Free for all guests to play and you can win either a drink or dessert! Brewer's Salad: Bed of mixed greens + arugula topped with salami, sliced egg, chicken, cannellini beans, olives, tomato, gorgonzola with a creamy balsamic dressing. Dressing was a bit heavy so I'd recommend asking for it on the side. Decent size to share (or not...) Space Cowboy Pizza: BBQ sauce, sliced red onion, chicken, bacon, mozzarella, cilantro, and parm on a thin dough. Sweet Hot Pizza: Roasted red peppers, mozzarella, chili oil, spicy honey, basil, peco-romano and fried garlic(!!!!) The fried garlic bits were the best part of this pizza! The entire pizza (including the crust) has honey on it so prepare to have sticky fingers. Brownie with Ice Cream: Decent sized warm brownie with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate drizzle, and sliced almonds. Simple and delicious. Enjoyed the food, ambiance, and Bingo night. Resonate is a pretty relaxing place to hangout. You sit anywhere you want and order from QR code and everything gets brought to you. Water is self serve at the corner of the bar counter. Pay on your phone and leave whenever you'd like (obvs before closing) My buddies and I ordered 3 pizzas and two appetizers and in retrospect, we could have just gotten 2 pizzas instead. The pizzas are a pretty big portion I feel. If I were to come here by myself one pizza and a beer would be plenty for me to be satisfied. I really liked the self-ordering interface. You scan a QR code then can add to your tab whenever you want without having to wait for a bartender to be free or a waiter to come by your table. Then they bring your order out to you (you don't have to wait by the counter or deal with a buzzer), so it's the best of both worlds. Outdoor patio is nice - several big picnic tables in a covered area with a sunshade to prevent sun in the eyes. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. I noted a food allergy in my order and they checked with me twice to make sure everything was correct (once before they made my food and again when they brought it out to me) Pizza was pretty average pub pizza; nothing to call home about but not shabby either. One pizza is probably a little big for most people, but probably not quite big enough for two people at dinner. I got meatballs as an appetizer and then had enough pizza left over for a second meal later. They had a good variety of styles of beer (not just dozens of IPAs).
