Today was mediocre. 1st my water cup came with red lipstick stains. The next time I got my drink it had a bug wing in it. I didn't even bother to complain. I got the oysters by recommendation of some patrons and they were under cooked and mushy inside. My husband did enjoy his chicken sandwich with pulled pork. Lunch and Supper is pure Richmond Gold. Hubby and I passed by one day and saw the neon "Hot Bacon" sign and knew we had to try this place. Now I want to go back and try every sandwich and entrée. These guys put a funky twist on farm to table style dining. The building itself is so uniquely done. Everything I ordered... and everything I stole from Hubby's plate... was de-lish!!! The meatloaf is some of the best I've ever had. I had the Southern Pride BLT and Hubby had the Locomotive 231. House made pimiento cheese, fried green tomatoes, buttery toast. Oh... I'm getting hungry!! They also have flavored teas that really hit the spot. Lastly, the Hot Southern Mess just blew my mind. It's a chocolate lava cake and ice cream with all of the fixings (even bacon!) I can't wait to go back for breakfast! And supper! read more

Yesterday I went to Lunch and Supper to place a to go order. The cooks are right behind the bar so I could see everything. The cook had NO gloves on and he was eating out of the same potato chip bag that he was using to serve the dine in guest! He was grabbing hands full of potato chips bare handed and putting them on the customers plate! I could not believe this was happening right in front of my own eyes! And then he still had no gloves on, he picked up some of the hash browns cooking the grill and put it in his mouth. He proceeded to pick up my husband crab sandwich with his bare unwashed hands and wrap it up. Another cook came in the kitchen without gloves and picked up my pita chips for my crab dip and wrapped them up. Overpriced and overrated. The food was good, but nothing I couldn't make st home for a family of four for what I paid for one meal. The minuscule size made me feel like I was eating in a prison cell with everyone crammed on top of one another. We've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, well prepared, and presented nicely. Seating is limited, so you might have a long wait during peak hours. There is a beer garden in which you can wait that serves drinks and a few apps. Service has always been good. The place has a great vibe. Great for date night especially when the weather is nice since you're likely going to spend some time in the beer garden. If you don't like small spaces and a wait, this probably isn't the spot for you, but you would be missing out on some really good food. read more

Grabbed take out. Had the ferryman flat iron and a side of Brussels sprouts. I was expecting more out of the Mac and cheese, but over all they were good. The short rib lacked flavor. Went here for brunch with a friend. We both had the Jersey pork roll sandwich with home fries and a couple drinks to get the day started. Their menu ideas are good, the vibe is casual and relaxed. A lot of the time I find the execution of their dishes falls just a hair short of truly impressing me, although still yummy. The catfish dish was definitely on the large side and a beautiful fillet. It tasted as if it had been fried up with bacon, which is not a bad thing. I did find it a little heavily breaded. I have a sneaking suspicion they crumble up tiny little bacon pieces into their breading which gives it that porky flavor although it's not on the description in the menu. Not a bad choice for a 4 block walk. I find that Scott's Addition is rapidly becoming the Bushwick of Richmond and this restaurant is proof. read more

The whole Lunch and Supper duo-restaurant buildings was a pretty cool concept! We went to Supper for dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The mac + cheese here is perfect and creamy and cheesy...definitely was my favorite part of the meal (I got the fried chicken signature platter, which was boneless fried chicken with black pepper-ish asparagus + mac and cheese). The asparagus was nicely seasoned - I liked that a lot too. The fried chicken was alright, and nicely crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The inside of the Supper building has a nice atmosphere, very nice and has cool antiqued-looking ceilings. The decoration was on point! The dinner prices can just get a little pricey but it's not that bad actually! And there were many things under $15 too. I definitely want to try the dessert menu next time...the Krispy Kreme bread pudding thing sounded amazing. Will be back! read more

Lunch Supper was one of those finds that was made on a hunch. First off, GO AS EARLY as possible... the secret is out about this place. Since our initial visit, LS has become a staple in the rotation, trust me. The train wreck is not for the weak of heart, a heavenly blend of gravy/egg/sausage all on a biscuit the size of a softball...INSANE. I dare say most can't finish it in one sitting. One very important note. If you've always wanted to try scrapple, and thought against it....take my word for it, this is THE BEST place in Richmond to do that....MARVELOUS. And always done correctly. Lunch Supper is legitimately one of my top five faves in RVA.....on the real! read more

A friend and I went there for brunch, and while both sides of the house were busy, the smaller side was more able to get us seated and served during the hustle. I ordered an omelet that was well-prepared, but didn't exactly match the description that had me curious (bacon-infused brussel sprouts). It was more like an omelet with brussel sprouts, hunks of bacon, and cheese, which was still good, just didn't quite rise up to the gourmet flair I was looking forward to. Having grown up in Richmond Virginia I moved out of the area and came back about ten years later Scott's addition has completely change and this was such a shock to me to see that it's really turned around into such an amazing area with great restaurants! Lunch or supper was a definite favorite place of mine after going back to Richmond. The food was beyond delicious I will admit I was a little confused as to what door to go into but I really kind waiter walk me over to the right area it was small and it was packed but it was definitely worth it I got the chicken and waffles and it was just what I needed lol it was so amazing and the staff there was all so nice.
