I can tell they are freshly made and possibly hand cut. Orders are made to go, but there are plenty of spots to land and enjoy. I went over to Golden Gate Cider a few steps away. There were many vendors, but I'd say a good 70-80% of them were just selling new products. Cheap clothes, household goods, candy, electronics, etc. imported from Mexico and sold cheaply. I guess if you need something like this you may not feel like you have lots of places you can go, but I come to flea markets and swap meets for the "garage sale" aspect and that was extremely minimal here. Very depressing. I did buy a couple of items, but having also visited another swap meet earlier that same day, I can't see myself returning to this one. I'll go anywhere else first and not waste my time coming to Midgley's Country Flea Market.

It delivered exactly what great Texas barbecue should: plenty of smoke flavor with nothing more than a traditional salt-and-pepper seasoning. No barbecue sauce needed--and that's exactly how I like it. The apple slaw was crisp, light, and refreshing, providing the perfect contrast to the rich meat. My wife chose the cornbread, drizzled with honey and served with honey butter, and it was absolutely over-the-top delicious. To top it all off, the wonderful young woman working the counter surprised us with a complimentary banana pudding after hearing about the drive we'd made just to eat there. It was such a thoughtful gesture and perfectly reflected the hospitality of the place. The pork ribs were awesome! The meat was so tender with a nice char. The extra BBQ sauce on the side was delicious. I chose the regular BBQ sauce but they also had a spicy one , too. I asked for two sides of baked beans and they were the best baked beans I've ever had...so flavorful with a little spicy kick.
