Probably the worst car repair shop experience of my life. We have been bringing all of our cars…read morehere for the past 15 years but never again. We bought 4 new tires from them about 3 months ago. Scheduling the service was a nightmare, I missed 2 days of work because they did not get to it on the day we made the appointment even though I dropped it off right after they opened. They didn't call to tell me it wouldn't be ready and there was no answer from repeated phone calls so I just had to go down there to find out that it would be another day. When I did get the car back, they tried charging $200 more than we were quoted and the car was all the sudden making a terrible noise (like it had no shocks or something) had to take it back 2 more times in the next few days and was told that it wasn't caused by anything they did but that they would take care of it. When we brought it in for the tire job, they said their alignment machine was down but that they had another shop they could take it to for that (also strange). They also told us they re-checked the alignment when we brought it back the first time. Fast forward to today and my 2 front, brand new, 3 month old tires are BALD! They did the alignment improperly if they did it all. We have been trying to bring it back to have the alignment checked for over a week now and finally today they said we could bring it in....same situation, no one contacted us all day and no one answered their phone. We went down there and they said they still hadn't been able to get it on the machine and just bear with them. We went back just before they closed and they said that the machine wasn't working and he pulled up our original receipt and said we weren't charged for the alignment originally so we should have known it wasn't done (even tho we were told TWICE that it had been done). Now we are going to have replace the 2 front tires only 3 months after buying them but are being told it's our problem. I really loved supporting this local business for years but now that it's been bought out they seem completely incompetent and uncaring. Update: we took it to Fisher tire the next day and they said it was one of the worst alignment jobs they had ever seen, and they didn't know how we were able to drive it at all. We got the problem taken care of there and will be giving them our business from now on, save yourself some headache and do not take your car to RT Clapp. They messed our car up and then tried to gaslight us about it. It is such a big contrast from the old management, and the way they used to do things, it's a shame.
