    Cinnamon Chai Latte (12oz)
    Willy M.

While working in the area, wasn't too hungry for lunch so I decided to stop by Lune Cafe to get a Chai. It's located by 1st Ave and Yesler. It was mellow when I came in mid-day, you place your order at the self-service tablet. I was looking for a basic Chai but after scrolling for a bit they do have Chai but more of a signature style drink with cinnamon and latte style. It's fine, so I ordered that. It was pretty good, to me it's more on the sweet side than a stronger Chai flavor. Took only a few minutes for them to whip it up. No real interaction with the staff so I don't know if they are friendly or not. You don't speak to anyone when ordering, you can stand at the bar area to wait for your drink as the staff does their thing. They do call your name when your drink is ready, that's as far as I got with any chit chat. It looks like they do offer food items too if you are interested. Overall it was just ok experience to check them out. Depending on which size drink and kind of milk you order, it was about $6 for a 12oz.

I visited this coffee shop after a baseball game and they were quite busy. The line to order goes by quick as you order on your own through a computer. They have an extensive menu! From crepes to smoothies. I ordered the pistachio latte with oat milk and it is really good! I am not going to lie I was a little hesitant because not all pistachio sauces taste good. Some coffee shops use one that taste too artificial. This pistachio sauce taste good. I would like more of a nutty flavor but over all good. I would def stop by again to try someone else off their menu.

Ordering system was very awkward. Also they were out of MANY items. Ended up with just a grilled cheese sandwich and the cheese wasn't even melted. Ordered a Luna's special latte with vanilla foam (+1.00) but after they made it they told me they were out of vanilla foam (in fairness they offered me other foam flavors, but we passed). If their point of sale system knows all the items they're out of, it should know this too. Their water station was out of water. Second Grilled cheese with added tomato and turkey was much better. We hoped for better.

This place is wheelchair accessible in the lobby! The staff were all super friendly and nice, they helped me pick out a drink for someone with a sweet tooth. The barista (wore a floppy eared hat and bone tag necklace) recommended a personal drink of theirs called Golden Hour and it was amazing!!! Super sweet and perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. Definitely come here!!

If you're craving something really sweet then you can come here. Lune cafe has a decent amount of options for your sweet tooth. The workers are usually pretty busy so there isn't much service. You order through a touch screen and then you pick up your order from the counter when they call your name. The desserts are pretty good but some are better than others for sure. After everything I've had I'd say the heavier desserts are the ones most worth it. The inside is nice enough with good decorations and vibes. Worth a shot if you've never been here.

    Looks line worthy (3/1/25)

Free late Sunday AM parking before an afternoon Mariners game. Packed at a nearby cafe/bakery, so decided to checkout Lune Cafe in Pioneer Square (4/27/25). No greeting. Monstrous kiosk for ordering and payment. Several staff members observed, but took forever to get a basic 12oz mocha. The trio *behind* me got their orders before me! Three people at the espresso machine, assuming its training or a lengthy gab fest. Interior geared to the upbeat set. Onsite board games and merch observed. There's a beverage and food menu. Stuck with the 12oz mocha which was servicable and reasonable at $5. Just wished I opted not to leave a tip for watching such an unenthusiastic pour. Whatever. Clearly not my demographic. Good to check it out, but once and done.

    Chocolate Strawberries

Came here with a friend on a mission to try one of those famous Dubai chocolate strawberry cups, turns out, you need to get here early. We showed up around 1:15pm on a Saturday, and there was already a line out the door. No joke, this place is popular, so be ready to wait. A lot of people were placing orders on Toast through their phone before getting to the counter, and honestly, that seemed like the move because it was way faster. The ordering screens were also kind of weird, one only took cash, the other only took card, so depending on how you're paying, you might get held up. We waited about 30-40 minutes in line, then another 30 for our full order. So yeah bring your patience, and don't expect to snag a table easily. By the time we got to the front, the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup was already sold out (tragic :( ...... ), so we went with the regular chocolate strawberry cup with pistachio cream. Probably similar, just missing the stringy dough noodles. It was really good, though. We also got the triple chocolate mini pancakes, which were amazing. Maybe it's the mini factor, but they just hit different. When we left a couple of hours later, the line was even longer, stretching out the door down the street. This place is crazy! Love the trendy seating area definitely a lot of Instagram worthy moments. Would I come back? Yep, but way earlier in the day. Also, they should just pre-make some of this stuff because I'm pretty sure that's why the wait is so long. But hey, clearly, they're doing something right because everyone is flocking here for these desserts!

I liked my drink. I got an energy tropical fusion. Only thing is that it was too sweet. I'm not sure if you can alter the sugar content but will ask next time.

Yall this cup of strawberries made me go absolutely feral. The crunchy crispies, the pistachio, the hearty chocolate, and RIPE STRAWBUDDIES UGHH SO DELIMCHIOUSSSS Highly recommend to share with friends (unless your tummy can handle a whole cup of chocolate then pop off queen). Perfect snack for walking around pioneer square or on the waterfront. Might have a small line bc the shop is on the smaller side.

I'm always down for a good cafe, but this cafe is too sweet for my liking. I ordered the Rose Chai and there was no options for adjusting the sweetness. Honestly just felt like drinking straight syrup. On the self-serving kiosks, there were no options to adjust the drink sweetness. Other than the drinks, the environment is super cute and a place to hangout, play games, and chill.

Came here solely for the viral dubai strawberry cup. There was a giant line but it was for ordering at the kisoks - once you order, it comes out super quick (if you're only getting the strawberry cup). I will say that it is exactly what you expect - fresh strawberries covered in milk chocolate and katalfi pistachio cream. I didn't think the pistachio flavor was that prominent though, and the milk chocolate was quite sweet. It got a little overwhelming after half the cup but the strawberries themselves really cut out the sweetness. For the price, I do think there are better things you can spend your money on. However it is still worth trying once!

Came here to try the viral Dubai chocolate Luckily found parking on the street just outside for $5 for an hour, otherwise would have to walk a couple of blocks. Went inside and the place was PACKED. I've driven past a couple of times prior and it was always filled with people. When we went inside there was no one managing the line and it felt like we all were super close packed together. No open tables at all... and the tables that were opened looked like they haven't gotten wiped down in a while. We waited 15 minutes to order on a tablet. They have 2 tablets and that's what makes it so slow. It's overwhelming to find what you want in my opinion and that's probably why it takes a while to order. We then stood huddled in the back for 30 minutes waiting for our cup. While we waited, we several people were getting all up close on us. There was a person standing near where they prepped crepes and we saw her hair go on where they put the chocolate sauce carriers. Gross. It was also inefficient because one person was making 30 cups of strawberry cups and then they all kind of got released at the same time. They need to take cafe of the giant line. If they had someone at the iPad instead of us ordering ourselves, it would definitely make the experience better, or scan a QR code to order. I think I saw that you could order online but that was lowkey. Everyone's hands touch the iPad and that is not clean to me. That would also reduce the time that we stand by 15 minutes lol. Also, it feels greedy to not hire some more people to make the chocolates if they know they are going to be busy. It doesn't take long to make one strawberry cup, but when only 1 person is doing a batch that is what is taking a long time because they have layers. Your employees are probably overwhelmed if I as a customer am overwhelmed lol so it would be nice to hone in on the experience and service. We ended up paying $15 for one strawberry cup with Dubai chocolates. The strawberries were all really good and the chocolate paired well. The Dubai chocolates were crunchy. I wish there were more flavors of the chocolate. In this economy that is justified to pay a high price and I shared with 2 others. However, given the ambiance and uncleanliness I won't be coming back when there are other great options in the neighborhood for desserts that won't have me waiting 45 minutes.

The shop itself is very small since it's basically a window shop, either renting space from or connected to Tamari Bar. It's more like a little dessert stand located on the restaurant's patio area, with only a few outdoor tables available. The soft serve was okay, but not as creamy as I was hoping for, and it melted pretty quickly. If you decide to add a syrup flavor, I'd recommend asking for only a small amount. Mine came absolutely drowning in syrup, and honestly, the flavor tasted pretty artificial and overpowering.

Thankfully they are open today on the Fourth of July (they will just close a little earlier for the holiday), and I was happy to see that not much has changed since my last visit. Without even realizing it, I ended up ordering the exact same drink I got the first time: a Matcha Float with mochi. I guess you really can't go wrong with it because it's still just as creamy and satisfying as I remembered. The only tiny downside is that it only comes with three small mochi balls, so for almost $9 I wish there were a few more. However, the quality of the matcha is consistently excellent, sooo I don't regret coming back. They have wonderful customer service too! The employee helping me at the register was incredibly patient while I stood there trying to decide what to order. As an awkward introvert, I always feel a little flustered when ordering, but she never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. She asked my sweetness preference for the Matcha Float, whether I wanted to dine in or take everything to go, and even carefully packed up my yuzu green tea packet with the rest of my order. She was very kind and thoughtful so just wanna say I really appreciate how welcoming she was. Even from my last Seattle visit two years ago, I still remember the employees being helpful and friendly here. I also have to recommend their desserts from my previous visit. (I skipped the sweets this time due to my budget but I still suggest picking up some of their sweets!). The Matcha Basque Cheesecake and the Matcha Tiramisu were both absolutely delicious, and I still remember how amazing they tasted even two years later. The tiramisu is only around $7 and is definitely worth trying if you're a matcha lover. This visit, I picked up their yuzu green tea packet to take home (last time, I got the hojicha). Each packet contains 15 individual tea bags and costs about $10 (not bad for how much tea is in each tea bag). They also sell matcha powder and other tea goodies. I'm looking forward to brewing the yuzu green tea at home since a good cup of hot tea is always comforting, especially when I'm sick (I've been recovering from a cold so tea has been a lifesaver to warm me up!). I actually stopped by for lunch since I didn't eat breakfast, and ordered the Sukiyaki Don (it was much more satisfying than I expected). I was craving a beef bowl and Nana's was one of the few places in the area within walking distance from my work, that was actually open for the holiday today, lucky me! It came with miso soup and a soft-boiled egg, and I was pleasantly surprised to find tofu and mushrooms in the bowl alongside the beef. It left me FULL, my tummy happy, heck yeah. Costs almost $20 but worth satisfying a craving. I won't lie.. I somehow managed to spend about $40 today between my meal, drink, and tea to take home. More than I intended to spend but no regrets, because everything was delicious and the quality has remained consistently high over the years. The only thing that made my visit a little uncomfortable wasn't the café itself. There were quite a few homeless individuals lingering around the front of the building, so I decided against dining out front like I had originally planned since I wanted to enjoy the nice weather, but one of them was panhandling me so I promptly left (thankfully I asked for my order to be packaged for takeout). That's obviously outside of the café's control, and it didn't affect the food or service at all. They still had many seats available inside but probably because it's the holiday. If I recall, the place was packed during the afternoon when I last visited on a weekday. I will still say that Nana's Green Tea continues to be one of my favorite matcha spots whenever I'm in Seattle. Between the consistently high-quality matcha, delicious meals and desserts, excellent selection of teas to bring home, and genuinely exemplary customer service, it's a place I'll happily keep returning to whenever I'm back in town and have the time to visit.
