Amazing food and amazing vibes! Came here for the tea, Hoji-cha specifically, and it was fulfilling. The chicken katsu curry was tasted great, my only gripe is that I wish it was sweeter and/or spicier, or at least have the option to do so. I believe this place is known for their matcha and from what I saw with other customers, it looked good!
Had this for the first time in Hawaii and loved it. But, I was disappointed with this location... Nana's green tea specializes in Japanese desserts mainly being matcha and hojicha. This location had an inside with lots of seating, greenery, and even savory food options for lunch like katsu plates. Their service is really efficient and the workers were moving pretty fast when it came to serving for those dining in or takeout. They had a sign for takeout seating being only outside, but this is probably in the case of when they reach capacity inside because they didn't seem to care when people stayed in! I got my classic matcha vanilla swirl with added mochi. It was very vanilla heavy not much matcha and the mochi was kind of hard? Adding mochi already costs an extra couple of bucks so I was let down by that. Just seemed like the quality wasn't that great at this location, but still enjoyed the ambiance and soft serve!
My sweet tooth and Asian desserts cannot be separated. Nana's Green Tea has been such a reliable place for a sweet treat! There's variety, whether you're into black sesame, matcha, hojicha, and or red bean. My go-to order has always been the black sesame mochi parfait or black sesame warabi mochi parfait. It's creamy, nutty, crunchy, and chewy in all the right ways! Truly a textural experience in your mouth with the mochi, the black sesame ice cream, and the corn flakes. I find myself indulging in every bite! In terms of the ambiance, it's giving minimalist chic. By no means is it a party spot, but if you want to eat something delicious while pretending you're in a cafe in Japan, this is your spot. I have been meaning to try their other desserts...I will surely report back when I do! The hot food also appears promising and I will surely give it a try next time I'm at Nana's!

I've tried the seven different levels of matcha ice cream in Japan and actually really enjoyed the seventh and most bitter level, but the matcha ice cream here seemed to be a little too bitter without enough of the punch of matcha to go alongside it - Black Sesame Ice Cream - will definitely be getting this the next time I visit a Nana's Green Tea! This was so good and almost felt like you were eating the inside of a black sesame bun from an Asian bakery Would be opening to coming back and trying their parfaits and other ice cream flavors (and would come back for their black sesame ice cream)!
Nana's Green Tea has always been my go to for quick yet satisfying lunch place. You order from the counter once walking in, then seat yourself with a number, and the food will be brought out to you. Chicken Nanban rice place comes with miso soup, salad, and potato salad. The chicken crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which pairs perfectly with rice. I didn't get matcha drinks this time, but they were also good when I had it before. Now the not so good part. You will need to clean the table yourself by bringing plates to the the dirty dishes area, which had a lot of flies. It's kinda gross. The place has a lot of echoing. There was a large group who were quite loud, and even my noise canceling headphones could not completely block out the noise. So if you want to come to study/work, it may not be the place...
I love nana's green tea. I think it's definitely one of the best places to get a matcha latte in Seattle and you know that the quality is good every time. I love getting their parfaits and it's shareable with a friend or two. They have pretty fast service and it's a great spot to study or do some work. I got their hojicha parfait this time and the ice cream had a perfect balance of nutty and sweet. The mochi was chewy and had a good bounce to it and I loved the jelly at the bottom.
Disclaimer that I was one of the first few patrons in the morning as they opened! I ordered the matcha mochi parfait which comes with one scoop of matcha ice cream, 3 mochi balls, 1 scoop of sweet red bean paste, whipped cream with matcha syrup on top of vanilla ice cream. Below the vanilla ice cream are matcha jelly cubes in syrup. The ambiance is beautiful and the staff brought our order to our table. We picked up a number plate and chose our own seat. There is a fair amount of indoor seating and outdoor seating if needed. The matcha ice cream has a strong matcha taste as opposed to sweet. The red bean paste tasted overly sweet on the flip side. I think they were meant to compliment each other but the red bean paste was very overpowering. The flakes added really nice texture and reminded me of my childhood. The mochi wasn't anything crazy-- chewy but didn't have any flavor on their own. One of the matcha jelly pieces I bit seemed to have some ice crystals on one end. The bussing station had plastic parfait spoons so it was process to share the parfait between two people!

It's a more casual restaurant, order at the front and then they bring u the food. Was able to find a table and the food was quick. Was enjoyable eat alone with the ambiance. Would recommend!
I've been eyeing Nana's Green Tea ever since moving here two years ago and wow, it absolutely lived up to the hype. This place is a matcha lover's dream. I had the black sesame frappe with mochi, which was rich, nutty, and perfectly balanced: not too sweet (I'm not a sweetened matcha person), just right. My partner got the seasonal purple sweet potato latte and it was stunning both visually and flavor-wise. The drinks are so unique, we both enjoyed the elements we had to enjoy with a spoon. We also grabbed the sweet potato Mont Blanc to share later, and honestly, I'm still thinking about it. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, high-quality and thoughtful. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side, but the quality makes it feel mostly worth it. This was easily some of the best matcha I've ever had: super smooth, earthy, rich and vibrant. The space itself is also lovely: bright, open, and super inviting. Plenty of seating indoors or out if that's your jam, whether you want to chill solo (I saw some folks working on laptops) or catch up with friends. We're already planning our return visit, but next time, we're staying for food too!

nana's is a seattle staple. pricey but i'd say it matches the quality of the matcha. we got most of their matcha options but the parfait is their most popular/was my favorite. so many different textures throughout the ambiance was so cute aswell! read more

Desserts - they have food here, but i've only ever tried the dessert. i love this place, we used to go to the one in hawaii but even then i only ever tried to the dessert. tons of options but anything with dango is my fav. the matcha is sweet but still has a good flavor to it. its not too strong. service - we usually just get it to go. comes out fast though! ambiance - on a nice summer day it can get busy but tons of seating inside and out. close enough to the convention center that people walk down. read more

A lot of people recommended Nana's and I was impressed! Matcha Warabimochi Parfait House made matcha pudding and syrup, matcha ice cream, vanilla soft serve, corn flakes, red bean paste, warabimochi (jelly mochi), whipped cream Really delicious matcha flavor! You can tell it's high quality. Love all the accouterments with the parfait too! Black Sesame Frappe w/Mochi Matcha powder blended with ice and sweet milk topped with creamy black sesame ice cream and warabimochi. *Cannot adjust sugar levels* The best black sesame ice cream I've ever had!!! I finally got to reunite with Nana's Green Tea! I still love the black sesame mochi parfait the most. It was just like I remembered it. It is such a simple dessert but it blows my mind every time. I was excited to hear they are finally expanding to California. I will definitely be there to compare it to all the various locations I've been to. read more

Nana's green tea is always a safe option for dessert/matcha! It can get busy, but today I didn't have to wait around for a table. Service is pretty fast and the interior is very nice and has a decent amount of seating. I love the matcha parfait, I'm just not a fan of the jelly that's in it, but the cornflakes and ice cream combo is so good, I would recommend! read more
Rounding out a downtown day of dining we strolled into Nana's with our dessert stomachs empty. For matcha lovers, this place is like paradise. We had a great time here after attending a conference this was a great spot. The food menu allows a mix of Japanese curry, poke and other neat eats with rice. Lots of matcha options and the service was super sweet. I was really impressed with the ask about the sweetness as I'm trying to watch my intake the staff gave us an idea of how many scoops of sweetener and how we could adjust. The ambiance inside is very nice like a garden, the bussing station was very clean and it seemed like a lot smoother of an experience compared to last year. I'm happy :) read more
Long lines + cute interior with lots of green plants and wooden decor + friendly service. We got the black sesame latte ($7.25) and sakura matcha parfait ($15.50). The parfait was okay, it looks pretty in pictures, but I wouldn't pay $15 again for cereal and jello. Delicious food and matcha?! I got the matcha frappe and asked for it to be slightly sweeter than usual, plus the tonkatsu sando! The matcha frappe hits per usual and no complaints there. As for the tonkatsu sando, it did not disapoint me at all! The size was perfect, bread was light and airy and the tonkatsu was fried perfectly without having that greasy feeling. Yummy! With how busy it usually is, the service tends to be quick but they're still overall very nice. It can get a bit snug inside and they do offer outdoor seating too, YET will say that that can also fill up quickly depending on the day. read more
Get the parfait! I opted for the Hojicha one instead of matcha and was pleasantly surprised. It was really really good! I also got the matcha tiramisu that was in the glass case. Do not get!!!!!!!! The cake tasted so old, stale, and I could hardly taste any matcha flavor. Save your money for the fresh items. They have tons of tables outside to sit with your dog. However the outside table is considered to go so your parfait won't come in a pretty cup. It comes in a plastic to go cup. read more

Walking distance from Hilton Garden on Boren Ave. I ordered by picture Tonkatsu Don (Fried Pork) Rice Bowl very helpful when not sure what any of this is. We eat with our eyes. Inside & outside dining options. Music a little loud but I'm sounding old. Comfy cushion bench seating and wooden chairs. Bright with a nice decor. Young vide, seems like lots of students. After a tasty rice bowl I ordered a matcha ice cream cone for the walk back to my hotel. read more
Wish we had a Nana's Green Tea in my home town. There were a LOT of different options with matcha, hojicha, red bean, black sesame, etc. Tried the matcha with red bean and mochi, and the black sesame with black sesame ice cream and both were yummy! The matcha cake with red bean cream filling was pretty good, too - because of the filling. The cake was a little on the drier side, but was fine with the filling. We came for dessert, but there's also a small selection of katsu. They take your order and bring the items to your table, so that's nice. The decor is bright and a cool place to hang out while enjoying dessert. Other people ordered the parfaits, (which look amazing!) and it was a popular place. If I'm ever back in Seattle, I'm getting the black sesame again. read more
The flavors were really good and matcha, sesame, and red bean flavors were all very rich. This really does remind me of desserts in Taiwan. The inside can get pretty crowded and there are signs asking for people to only be there 2 hours, so maybe better for catching up with friends rather than studying. Very nice staff. Went to nanas as I saw they had seasonal strawberry special and I've been hoping they would add strawberry to the menu as I love a strawberry matcha. Overall I thought they were both alright, I guess I expected a little more from there as I like their matcha but def not one of the best strawberry matcha in the area. I think it was called a matcha strawberry cream latte so it was def lighter on the strawberry which makes sense bc of the cream. The parfait was pretty good, loved the cut up strawberries and cornflakes. Service was really nice and friendly. The location is real cute and I love the little wooden house inside. This is the OG matcha spot, you really can't miss if you order from here. The regular iced matcha latte had a solid umami taste and creamy texture- exactly what you want from a matcha. They normally add 3 pumps of simple syrup to the latte, but I asked for 2 instead which was the perfect level for me. There's a lot of Matcha places in Seattle, but Nanas is very consistent and always a fun sweet treat to share! Not much parking in the front, but lots of seating inside. They have food, parfaits, pastries/desserts, and drinks, but my favorite is definitely the Matcha parfait because it is the perfect mix of texture from the crunchy flakes, ice cream, and the matcha is honestly pretty good quality! Mochi vs warabimochi is just the texture, mochi is the classic white rice flour balls while warabimochi is more clear/tapiocay, coated in soybean powder. The Hojicha is also pretty good and nutty! My boyfriend randomly found Nana's Green Tea, and I am so glad he did. The matcha mochi parfait is a must. It's not only beautiful but also incredibly delicious with the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. We also tried the tuna avocado don and the salmon don, and both were fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. The space feels calm and modern, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal or dessert. My best friend wanted to try Nana's Green Tea. I remember coming here a lot when I lived in Hawaiʻi so was excited to come back! We came on a weekend night and it was popping! The matcha shop is somewhat spacious, has a Japanese flair, and is a hot spot for Gen Z, like us! It's a popping spot where there's a constant line of people. We were able to snag a seat, but at peak hours seating can be limited. There's a good amount of seats for pairs and small groups, plus outdoor seating. We found service to be efficient but not personable. They focus on order turnaround. My best friend and I both enjoyed a Matcha Red Bean Latte with Mochi. I got mine with Soy Milk. The drink was okay, with no strong matcha taste. Honestly pretty milky. We got ours less sweetened as well, which made it not overly sweet. I was kind of disappointed with the amount of mochi (three pieces) for the price. Peaking at others, their parfaits looked pretty and tasty. Matcha fans in Seattle flock to Nana's Green Tea which not only offers matcha but also Japanese sweets and dishes. It's cute and has decent matcha offerings! Been wanting to try this place with all the fun unique drinks, desserts and entrees to try! The service was busy but very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very bright, clean and inviting. There's indoor seating for dine in and outdoor seating that's considered take out. The food and drinks are delicious! Haven't found a black sesame drink that's not too strong and not too sweet until now. The fried chicken has a little sweetness in it but plays well with the egg and potato salad. Cute, earthy teahouse with a modern flair! As a matcha enthusiast, coming to this spot was a no-brainer. Despite the aesthetics, we had a mixed bag of experiences with the green tea.. Matcha Mochi Parfait: My parents enjoyed the fun variety of textures! Hojicha Latte: Not bad, but not great. I would've liked the intensity of the hojicha to be stronger, but it seemed muted. Matcha Warabimochi Frappe: The matcha was okay. Overall, I wasn't impressed by the quality of the matcha green tea here. As for the service, the cashier was nonchalant and we bussed our own table. Meh. read more

Yes it is! Not too loud and lots of space
Is there any gluten free options for the food?
Most of their desserts are not gluten free but they have soft serve that could be gluten free as well as some or their rice bowls without the fried items.
Do you guys accept cash?
Hi Simon, we don't have any cash drawers to give change, so we can accept cash if there is an exact amount. We accept all credit cards, apple pay, google pay, and all the other methods of paying with a phone.
Do you ice cream and parfaits have gelatin?
Ice cream by itself no, parfaits have pudding on the bottom which does but it can be made without pudding.
Is the karaage gluten free?
No it's not unfortunately, there is soy sauce in the marinade. Our Salmon Sashimi Don (without sauce) is the best GF option!
Do they have AC?
Due to COVID they only have outside seating at the moment. The inside does have AC but it will probably be on when indoor seating starts again.
Is the ice cream pasteurized? Is it safe for pregnant women to eat?
Yes! Both our soft serve and hard scooped ice cream is pasteurized!
Are there space heaters in the outdoor dining area?
Not yet! But we have heaters on order and are expecting them later in January.
Is sit down dining available currently? It was showing on google that it wasn't available but Yelp says it is?

Is it vegan? I saw the matcha base is non-sugar non-dairy, but not sure if that stands for the majority of their products- fiancé has dairy allergy and I LOVE matcha.
Vegans just stay home it's the best way to not cause harm to animals!

Yes, in terms of food you're only looking at one thing- Tofu salad. For dessert there's matcha latte with almond milk
How do you handle parking?
^^ For downtown, free parking is after 8pm. Unless this location happens to be far enough away but I don't think so...

Katsu Curry and Chicken Nanban were good.
What are the best times to avoid crowds on a weekday?
1:00pm to 2:30pm and after 8pm. Basically anytime that passes lunch/dinner hours.

Is this somewhere you can chill and play board games or something?
They don't provide you with board games. Guess you could bring your own, but right now it's still so busy and crowded... you would probably feel bad taking up space if you're done all your meal and desserts. Their tables are also aren't that big.… Read more

It is open. I just walked up and ordered a few days ago. Be sure to show up early, because they ran out of a bunch of stuff when I went at around 2-3PM.
