    Smoked Salmon Toast
    Natasha T.

Walked in looking for a place to just grab something to drink, asked the silly "are you open question" while standing inside. (lol I've walked into places that say open, but ask for like 10 more minutes before they're ready). Anyway, the menu behind the counter was well designed and clear & concise. There were pictures (actually accurate to how my order came out). I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk & salmon toast to go. Took about maybe ten mins - didn't mind the wait, seating was abundant- music was great, I believe Danny helped me placed my order & I'm not sure of the person who brought me the matcha, but he had braids & was very nice!

Was in the mood for a fresh smoothie/juice and stopped here for brunch. Was also intrigued from seeing "gourmet toast" so went to see what that was about. This place was so clean, employees were professional, and the options were endless. Ordered the avocado smash toast which was absolutely delish and a Ginger Berry smoothie. Smoothie had a great flavor and was refreshing. Definitely will revisit to test other menu options. Highly recommend!

    Protein waffle & Greek toast

My husband and I have been looking for a new spot ever since our favorite coffee shop closed, and I think we finally found it. After the first sip of my cappuccino, I knew I'd be a regular. And an added bonus - the food is excellent! The toast and protein waffle were a 10/10. I'm excited to try more from their menu.

So, this one was a real doozy of a visit. The drinks were fair, with our order being a Goose Island…read moreIPA, Long Island iced tea, and a pomegranate martini. The service and food, on the other hand, were quite a mixed bag. We ordered a margherita pizza, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, and French toast with a side of sausage--the pizza, at least, was good. However, the "French toast" was more like an anemic panini press trying to pass as French toast. The steak and eggs comprised of a fairly well-cooked (that is, it was the right temperature) yet underseasoned steak of a relatively dubious cut, underseasoned home fries, and eggs done wrong (sunny side instead of over easy). The lattermost was the start of the problem, as I was willing to give it a shot, but found the texture off-putting. In light of this, I brought the problem to our server Adalia, who brought it to her manager Elvia. Thankfully I had someone else with me to tell me what happened: Elvia came over without addressing me on their error, silently took a look at my plate and instructed Adalia to have the kitchen put the eggs back on the fire. She takes my plate to extract the eggs, and brings them back (unsurprisingly) completely overdone, first in Elvia's hands, then in Adalia's for her to serve; we send for a refire, and they come back correct 7 minutes or so after I've already finished eating. Considering the hassle it took to get them, I couldn't trust it enough to eat, leading them to waste as well. After all was said and done, the GM Amer comes over to see how things were, and was thankfully helpful and understanding of our situation. Here's the rub: I was initially willing to overlook the steak, the home fries, and even the eggs if the error was properly ameliorated. Adalia and Amer both did very well, and I'm grateful for them for that; Elvia, on the other hand, managed to break the chain of competent customer service by directing the server to handle the problem in a way that was set up for failure (if you mess up an egg, it's an immediate refire because of how the egg cooks in the first place -- Amer also arrested to that policy) all without addressing us and taking accountability, due to negligence or whatever else. Not only that, but when sending the incorrect eggs over the second time, she couldn't even bring it to us herself--it would have been easy, seeing as she was the one that originally had them--and left Adalia and her tip to potentially take the fire if the patrons happen to be angry. Mistakes are fine--everyone makes them--but I'd describe this as cowardly more than anything else, and I take issue with that in particular from a leadership standpoint. While Amer graciously extended an invitation for a better experience next time, I can't say I'll be taking him up on the offer when their service and food are this misaligned; unfortunately, a disappointment overall.

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm very patient, caring, understanding, and empathetic to the service industry. Reservations were for 1:45 today (Sunday.) Place was empty. I know they recently got slammed because of all the "influencers" that have been posting in the recent weeks, plus from what the owner mentioned, a new line cook was being trained and their Pizza folks quit. Heard his story and understood, as we are all trying to keep head above water. I was trying to think, do I know the chef? do I know anybody here? Did I curse out their mama? The expresso Martini was trash, I don't know if the bartender was partying the night before, but I do know is that 20 minutes later after ordering it came with about a fifth of a tequila bottle poured in. About 45 minutes after that and me having to grab the attention of the staff to the point that I got up to the hostess booth, the owner finally came over and explained that they were slammed and proceeded to comp my meal that it will be right out. 15 minutes after that I had enough. And yes, I paid for my drinks, as the owner was bringing out the food and was kind of upset because he told me he was going to comp my meal. Nothing in life is free...Purely a litmus test to see if they would at least have common courtesy to comp those. One of the waitresses that was training another caught an attitude, I dismissed it. And yep, drink comp didn't happen. Same waitress kept passing by as I bit into my burger and I knew they gave me the special (anyone who's seen that movie waiting knows what the special consists of... I still can't take the taste out of the pound of salt and pepper that they poured on my burger, and my lady's food could crack a brick wall. The whole ride home I was questioning my existence, what karmic food God did I piss off? So since I didn't and don't get paid to "influence," don't believe what you read or hear on the internet (as ironic as me posting this online.) This is my honest review, and I do hope that if you still chance it and go to this place, you have a better experience, and not a scene from Scarface... fly pelican fly...

The sausage and bacon were regular and normal, nothing crazy. The eggs were probably a little overdone for my liking but I think I should've probably just asked for over easy since these yolks were barely runny at all. The sourdough was a great companion to the eggs though! The biggest downside to this place is that it's cash only. Very inconvenient and we didn't know until I showed up, luckily I had some on me and had enough for my friend who was with me. Overall a very laid back, casual, old school vibes. The restaurant is modern, crisp, and bright, with colorful paintings adorning the walls. The menu is provided on digital tablets at the table, which are more convenient than having to scan a QR code. They have a great selection of custom cocktails. I ordered the rum punch and enjoyed the sweetness and fruity flavor. For my main, I had the avocado toast. The bread was soft, thick, flaky, and slightly sweet. The avocado was fresh and chunky. Based on reviews, I also got a side of the mac and cheese and it did not disappoint. It was well seasoned with creamy cheese and a well done top layer. My husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. This took about twenty minutes to come out, which was a bit of a long wait. I loved the caramelized berry topping. The bread was a bit chewy, but still tasty. Service was excellent.
