First, let me give a shout out to the staff. They were incredible. Friendly, attentive, and our server (thanks, Angie) was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We started out with a couple of cocktails that were fabulous (espresso martini and an off-the-menu old fashion). Starters included the ricotta-stuffed zucchini flower with tomato tartare. I'm not a fan of ricotta or raw tomato and this dish was delicious. The balance of tomato sweetness, acidity, and creamy, flavorful ricotta was spot on. Arancini was creamy and perfectly cooked, served with a "mop up the plate" red sauce. Mains were the rigatoni bolognese and squid ink risotto with halibut. Both were absolute perfection! I'm, particularly, critical of bolognese and this was one of the best. Pasta cooked al dente and the thick, rich meat sauce did not disappoint. Tiramisu was light, not too sweet. The whipped mascarpone was creamy and the subtle espresso flavor left us wishing we could have eaten that last bite! Luogo's location is conveniently located across the street from paid parking and the dining area was bustling, but not too loud where it didn't feel like an intimate dinner. I am going to preface this by saying that I do realize this place just opened and they have to work out some kinks. However, I am afraid some of the things there are more permanent problems (the menu). I had high hopes for this place but - sadly - it' seems to be another mediocre Italian spot in Nashville. If this is supposed to be up to par with NYC Italian spots, it is definitely not. The meatball and sauce were legit - I just wish there were more items that had that same feel. The spaghetti and clams was dry and flavorless. There were only about 4 clams and they were overcooked to the point of clam jerky. The salad had way too much dressing and was drowning in it. We also had the roasted chicken, and the sauce was delicious - but the chicken was lukewarm and mealy. I don't love the menu either. It feels like it's trying too hard. Nashville doesn't have a good Italian spot. This place could really level up the food here by sticking to more simple, classic dishes that are served in an elevated way. I also found the atmosphere to be not very inviting. It was like a giant office where half of the fluorescent lights were burned out. The service was good. Our waiter was friendly and fun and attentive. The hostess accommodated a last second addition and was really nice and helpful. The wine list was also very well curated with several moderately priced, good Italian wines. Loved that. I just wish the food had lived up to my hope for the place. I will go back and try it again - hopefully they make some menu modifications and work out the kinks. read more

As a Nashville native (I'm not), this has to be the best Italian in the whole city! The breadsticks were good, the little olives they give you were good, and WOW, the traditional spaghetti and meatballs was the best I've ever had! I stumbled upon this restaurant as we were looking for a restaurant around the gultch. I did not know what to expect but fell in love with this restaurant. The appetizers was 30$ but really good, the meatballs were exceptional! I loved the ambiance and how the restaurant was decorated. Some of the best pasta in the downtown area. Out waiter was also wonderful. He explained everything to me & walked me through the menu. We ordered everything at the same time & the main entrees took a very long time. My wife and I had dinner there last night. We had a great waiter, table ready when we walked in, dinner was creative, fresh and delicious. Only 1 complaint, we eat out maybe 10 times a week if you count breakfast, lunch and dinner so I consider us to be great customers. Here's the rub, we aren't large eaters any more and will split an appetizer, an entre and a dessert and we will each have 2 or 3 cocktails so our checks are not small. What would it cost management to split our dishes in the kitchen instead of making us cut and divide them at the table. Will we go back, yes probably but the many places that we do go that splits our meal for us GETS PRIORITY. read more

Date night great experience. They have a unique pizza appetizer that I could have eaten for dinner if I didn't want to try other things. The meatballs weee also delicious. I opted to bring this home and eat it later because I agin wanted to try everything out. The service was great even though they were busy. Our server was attentive, and the young woman keeping our glasses full of water was kind and consistent. My mom had a non alcoholic beverage from the bar and said it was awesome as she doesn't drink much these days and was grateful for a fancy drink option to feel like part of the celebration. The manager was on duty as was the owner. These guys know how to run a restaurant. Honestly, this was my favorite dining experience in Nashville. The pasta was great, nice bottle of wine, and the place is 1st class. I expect higher prices for high quality so price was not a problem for me. I'm a blue collar guy, and it was worth the money. Our first time at Luogo. It was delicious and the service could not have been better. From the burrata and prosciutto to the bolognase and the ice cream tower-everything was prepared perfectly. The staff were so on point...Keith Gallo waited on us. He and the other servers were pleasant, friendly and eager to make sure everything was perfect! Recently, we dined at Luogo in Nashville. It's located on the corner with plenty of windows for viewing 12th Avenue South. We were quickly seated and brought complimentary spicy breadsticks. Our server, Abbey, took our drink order, answered questions and returned with a Sinello Montepulciano for my wife and a Limoncello Cider for me. They were excellent! As an appetizer, we ordered Focaccia Bread and Eggplant and Zucchini Pie. The pie (Caponata) had a light ricotta, mozzarella and parmigiano reggiano base topped with eggplant, zucchini, olives, walnuts, tomato sauce and spices. It was a beautiful, 6-inch pie, incredibly delicious and enough for four! We shared the Bucatini alla Vodka with Lobster and Pan-Seared Branzino which were perfectly prepared and just extraordinary! The Branzino filets had the trademark crispy skin. For dessert, we shared the Luogo Ice Cream Tower with a tall, sparkling candle, compliments our amazing server, Abbey! The owner, Luogo, checked on every table during our meal. It was a perfect and very memorable dining experience! If you're in Nashville and you're craving Italian cuisine, I highly recommend Luogo and Abbey without the slightest reservation. Bon appetit! read more

Top of the line in service AND flavor. Some fine dining restaurants can feel stuffy and sterile but Luogo is anything BUT. It's warm, welcoming, beautiful decor, and extremely friendly staff. Angie was our server and she was not only very knowledgeable about the menu but was accommodating and had great recommendations and knew exactly how to joke with the table. The owner Anthony stopped by to check how every thing was which was a sweet touch. The support staff was attentive and we didn't really want for anything, they kept the waters full, cleared the table at the perfect times, but weren't intrusive. The spring drinks were creative and delicious, the pizza and chips are a must have for appetizers and the short rib fell right off the bone and the lobster bucatini had a generous amount of actual lobster in it. Overrated. Ambiance is cool but dishes were very basic. Chicken milanese was over breaded and dry. Clam pasta was made with canned tomatoes. Bread was chewy. Salmon dish was one piece of tail end salmon with sauce and 1 piece of broccoli and 3 tomatoes. Really?
