Paired with unlimited chips, salsa & bean dip, their breakfast menu seems like a pretty good value. I liked my Breakfast Carnitas Tacos, & my dad really enjoyed his Breakfast Carnitas Benedict. Very disappointing experience. We were told the wait time was 45 minutes. Decided to wait. After seated, waited for another 12 minutes to give our orders. Then, 1 hour and 10 minutes later, we decided to cancel and asked for the check. Waited for another 10 minutes to pay for 2 beers and 3 sodas (needless to say, nobody asked if we wanted a refill). If I could give this place no stars I would. In all my years of eating this tops as one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Walked in around 3pm on a Saturday for a late lunch. The restaurant was not busy by any means but seemed to be understaffed or disorganized. Had to wait to be seated so they could bus a table. After sitting down and waiting for at least five minutes our waitress approached and took our drink order. I was expecting her to greet us with chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants but we got nothing. After what felt like 10 minutes she came back with our drinks and chips but no salsa. She explained they ran out and had to go find some in the back. I asked for sweet & low for my iced tea and a straw. She said of course and apologized they aren't allowed to carry them in their apron. Again we waited and waited for sweet and low and a straw. Finally had to ask a manager. Food came quickly but that's were the problem continued. I ordered a dish with a taco. Like a taco that's folded and stuffed with meat where you have to turn your head to eat it. Their tacos are FLAT like a chalupa/tostada. Cheese enchiladas was super salty and the beans had no flavor. After taking a few bites we got up and left. I let the manager know of our disappointment in service and food. I also mentioned they should offer a description in the menu or tell customers their tacos are flat. I love Lupe Tortilla!!! Everything we've had here has been fantastic however - it's super expensive. Coming here for dinner is a big bill if you get drinks and an app so it's not just a place we would frequently visit. I wish it was a teeny bit more affordable so we could come weekly but oh well ‍ the breakfast is amazing and not AS expensive. Hand pressed orange juice for your mimosas!!!! I was very excited to try this place. When I called to place my order I was put on hold. After being on hold for awhile the line began ringing again. No one answered and the ringing finally turned into a busy signal. I called back and finally got ahold of someone. I ordered combo fajitas for two and asked for the onions to be carmelized. When I picked up the food I double checked everything the onions were not carmelized and had a very strong onion odor. I asked the togo person if she could have them cooked more. She takes them back in and comes out several minutes later. She said she spoke with her manager and they could not cook them more. It's not that they couldn't, they wouldn't. Every other restaurant in the same price point, including Pappasitos, Mi Dia, Mi Cocina, can carmelize onions. Why can't Lupe Tortilla??? read more

Very extensive drink menu (I recommend the Sangria Rojo) and complimentary bean dip comes out with the chips & salsa, both have a little kick to them in the best way. We also tried the hatch Chile queso (seasonal) and it was delicious! Not too spicy, but came with peppers on the side if you want more heat. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the Barbacoa Tacos. the tortilla was fresh and soft and the meat was juicy and tender. I tried one of the Puffy Tacos (ground beef) and that was probably my favorite thing! The shell is so soft and the guacamole added a nice freshness. My boyfriend ordered "The Chong" plate and he said it was delicious. I tried his crispy chicken taco and was blown away by the fajita chicken filling!! I immediately regretted not ordering fajitas and will definitely be coming back to try them ASAP overall it was a great lunch, the atmosphere is cool, fun drinks & DELICIOUS Mexican food! read more

Okay so it's Monday and only 4 cars parked out front should have been a red flag. Bit noooo I really wanted to enjoy their yummy beef fajitas. But.... No onion or green peppers served with them, bean soup was COLD! Guacamole was bland, beans and rice accompaniments bland, cold and tasted old. What an $$$$$$ bust!! We'd never been here before--and now we've declared it our favorite north Dallas restaurant. Not only the best seafood tacos we've ever had, but every one of the staff welcomed us as if into their own home. Sylvia is a super waitperson and thanks to Norm, the manager, for checking to see if we had everything we needed to be happy. Margaritas were delicious. Totally impressed by how amazing this restaurant is! We came at lunchtime and it was not crazy busy and the atmosphere was really cool. Our waiter, Salvador, was sooo wonderful and lively- we really enjoyed his company. I had the strawberry waffles and omg I never thought waffles from a Mexican joint would be SOOOOO GOOOOOD. Boyfriend, who is a tough cretic, ordered the E.B.L.T. (something like that) and was super satisfied. AND another reason to be impressed...they have Pacifico on draft! This is definitely my favorite Tex Mex restaurant! Being from Houston, I couldn't wait for them to start opening up locations here in Dallas and they did not disappoint. Everything at this restaurant is so similar to Houston which makes it feel so much more genuine. I highly recommend the beef fajitas and if you go for lunch they give you the best lunch portion of them. The queso is amazing as well as the bean dip they bring out with the chips. The margaritas, need I say more??? Get the house margarita, small regular or the carafe they are made fresh with lime juice and are so easy to take down. I went in today for lunch with a friend and got some pretty horrible service. It literally took over 30 minutes to get our food. After finally getting a manager over he brought out my food and still was not done with my friends tacos. A few minutes later he brings out my friends tacos and comps her meal even though we waited about the same amount of time. I could tell they left my food under a heat lamp because my lettuce was starting to cook on my tacos. This place definitely needs some help understanding the importance of customer experience. No one wants to pay for food that has basically been under a heat lamp for 15 minutes. read more

I have had two incidents where the check was incorrect, & almost double here. Today, their flyer had half price fajitas. We ordered. Got the bill. It's double. Then the waitress says red it closely... in faint print that u couldn't even read until it was pointed out, it showed the disclaimer date & times. Wow. Had a talk w the mgr & he just stood there like an idiot. I told him I would pay but I won't ever be back again. Once is one thing, twice in two visits is another. Done w this place. I came on a weekday for a late lunch. Not the best time to see what the crowd is like. I was very impressed from the moment I walked in. It is a beautiful restaurant with fine attention to detail! The menu has plenty of choices without being overwhelming. Their salsa is unique and delicious - a requirement if I'm going to frequent a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant. I spent so much time looking over the menu. I decided on the chicken flautas, which were very, very good. I spent considerable time in conversation with my server, Whitney, about the history of the restaurant and just how they do things there at Lupe Tortilla. Everything is fresh, made from scratch! Whitney is an excellent server, and I will be requesting her section in the future. I am so excited to come in the evening and hang out in their sitting room, which has a plush red leather couch, big projection screen for movies and a fireplace. I didn't get a picture because some business men were occupying the room, having a relaxed meeting. The separation of the intimate bar area from the rest of the restaurant is perfect. The lighting and decor are absolutely fabulous! I can't wait to come to their brunch. I've never seen such a brunch menu at a Tex-Mex restaurant before!! Amazing!! I am truly impressed with this place! Get the word out about their brunch, because they aren't many brunch spots around where you can get a Bloody Mary or Bloody Maria (made with tequila instead of vodka). They also have a Mexican coffee cocktail - Hornitos tequila, Khalua, and cinnamon like traditional Mexican cinnamon coffee. I must try that! read more

Sorry, but the service needs a lot of work. They have too much competition to not correct this. Have you heard of a place with too many waiters, but no one accountable for your table. They need to see how service is done at Houston's and Hillstone, if they want everyone to pitch in, but with organization. Beef fajitas were tender, but too much lime. No beef flavor just lime. Also my friend ordered crispy tacos and received tostadas. We were afraid to send back because it would take too long to get order back. I wish them luck, hopefully they can straighten everything out. Chuy's across the street will beat them in service and food. read more

Definitely the best fajitas I've ever had, meat cooked just right absolutely delicious shrimp and , Tortillas tasted great and appeared to be made in house. Our server was absolutely fantastic, going absolutely above and beyond expectations. After I took a bite out of a pepper, my body burning and eyes watering. Waited over a half hour at the bar for an order of fajitas. Asked the bartender to check on my food and he came back, told me they were "working" on it. He also added that it was "chaos" in the kitchen and didn't seem confident that I would see my order any time soon. I decided not to wait any longer and asked to speak to a manager on the way out. She told me that 30 minutes was basically "standard" service at their restaurant and offered no apology. I've eaten at Lupe a number of times in the Houston area and was really looking forward to them finally coming to DFW. They have a long way to go service-wise at their Addison location. This is my second time going to Lupe Tortilla, but my first time at this location. Both times I have loved that they have a vegetarian menu. That means I'm not limited to bean and cheese nachos like some mexican restaurants. I had the vegetarian puffy tacos, and they were great. The tortillas were crisp. They were generously filled with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, and guacamole. I also had the cheese enchiladas at the other location, which were also great. My family enjoyed all of their meals, and the service was excellent. I definitely want to go back and try some other things on the menu. read more

We have been to their restaurants in several locations and cities and really loved their food and service. We have gone to this location 4 times since their opening, thinking it would get better. It has only gotten worse each time. The time before last we were a group of 4 that ordered straight from the menu. It took 45-60 minutes to get our order. When we brought it to the attention of management, we were ask what we ordered. After telling the manager, we were told if we had ordered Fajitas we would have received them faster as that's their specialty. When we received our check it was noticed after paying that they charged the 1 person drinking tea for each refill. When leaving this was brought to the manager's attention. No apology or offer to refund, just that she would talk with the server. When made a formal complaint to corporate all we received was a reply email acknowledging our comments. We went back last night and sat at the bar. This was where we received the best service our first visit and to watch the NFL game. We walked out due to little to no service and the fact the bar didn't have Bitters to make the ordered drinks. Again advised management of the problems as we left.
