It's a chain place, and it might be your average place to eat Mexican food, but there are a few good things about this place. Overall it's average to me, but not everything here is a thumbs down; let's see if I can break it down. It is nice for a suburban restaurant for friends and family. There's usually a wait around dinner time, it was around half an hour to 45 minutes when I walked in. However the bar is open seating and you can take a seat whenever one becomes available. I was able to sit down right away and order a drink. The Mojito was delicious. Just the right amount of mint, not too sweet, and topped with salt. There are other options like beer, other margaritas, and cocktails. The drink menu was really spot on and I will keep coming back for more margaritas if I can. The food is a different story. They usually give you chips and salsa, which is really good when you are waiting for your food. I especially liked the bean dip they provide. The food menu is really spacious, but the prices are kind of steep for my taste. I got two beef tacos with guacamole, pico de Gallo, sour cream, and they came with flour tortillas. They were tasty, but they cost well over $20 for two! I'm not sure if it was worth that much, and it wasn't really what I would expect at Pappasito's, but it wasn't too bad. Just an observation, but be prepared to spend a little more than what you expect. The staff is great. They were able to recommend the best drinks, and good food options from the menu. I will probably be back to try more of the margaritas, but if I'm on a budget I might stick to something small. They also have desserts but I didn't try any. The outdoor patio with fire pit has limited tables for eating and it's the second best spot to the bar. Every plate here is good but they are known for their beef fajitas. I had three staff come up to me and asked me about my order information and eventually had to go inside where my order was just sitting. No one updated me about the status of my order they just asked me the same information over and over again. Walked out after sitting, no Chips. Water. Table was wet when we sat down and there was even some salsa in a chair but they had just cleaned it for us. Server took our drink order and never came back to our table but he did hang out at a table across the room laughing with what look like servers on lunch breaks or off work for the day. I also asked about a food allergy, he didn't even know what was on the menu, I had to show him what the ingredient list was. At the 15 minute mark we decided to leave. Still sitting there. For all tables outside only one table had people with food delivered, another table was finished with their meal, another table left ... then there was a table with what I guess was an employee and then us... This is a second time at this location with a bad experience typically they are positive experiences at other locations in the state of Texas. In today's economy if you're not able to staff a table due to the kitchen or wait staff remove some tables from your restaurant Or reduce the options on your menu. I ordered the Mushroom Tacos Al carbon from the vegetarian menu and asked them to make the dish vegan. They were very willing to do so as it was just getting rid of cheese and sour cream. Overall the dish was very bland. The asparagus had an odd bitter flavor and was not pleasant. The tacos were underwhelming and not very flavorful. Perhaps other dishes are better but I do not recommend getting these tacos. Also beware that the Mexican rice uses chicken stock so sub that out if you're vegan! read more

My wife loves them. She could eat here every day of the week and order them every single time. Their seasoning is delicious. I like trying different things. My experience has been hit-and-miss. Fish and shrimp tacos are OK. The carnitas tacos are bad - flavorless and dry, skip them. Jalapeno bacon shrimp was pretty good. My conclusion: go for the fajitas. Their charro beans are very good too. We have always received good service. They have a good selection of beers and drinks, including margaritas, of course. My wife and I aren't locals, so we can't speak to more than our 3 experiences here. The first was a lunch meal, while the next two were weekend brunches. We both enjoy the food. Honestly, I don't remember the lunch meal other than that it was pleasant Tex-Mex food. The brunch meals were very good. I had a barbacoa variation on an Eggs Benedict that I thought was a good twist. The second brunch I tried one of the waffle dishes, the praline. It was very tasty, although the Black Barrel Tequila syrup was served like it was liquid gold; I could have used at least half as much again as we were given. Out of the three visits, we got good service twice. The third time was poor. We were two non-drinkers seated next to a family group of ten or twelve being served alcohol, so I suspect we were lower priority. I understand that COVID has left restaurants with staffing shortages. The worst sin of the last visit was it took at least 20 minutes after we were ready to leave to pay. This could have been avoided with an online payment option. So, tasty food, a nice brunch, but inconsistent service sums up my view. read more

Hate to write a negative review -- tried to give them multiple chances before I did but we order from here frequently (usually to go) and they almost always at the very minimum forget one thing. It's always the tortillas for our fajitas but today they also forgot all of our drinks, messed up the fajitas, didn't give us tortillas. Had to go back multiple times and didn't have 1/3 of our order printed on our receipt but luckily I was able to show them my receipt via email because they didn't seem to believe us. Then when they brought the drinks out the bartender had told the server it was 2 vs 3 (it was 3) so he had to go back in again. Anyways, food is so great but the service is severely lacking. Took my name/number/email address and said she was going to issue me a $100 gift certificate/credit. This was around 8:45PM. Got home and discovered he Maximo did not include the ribs or sausage. Nice. As for the promised credit / gift cert? Hasn't happened. Nothing. I know the manager had the right email address because she rewrote my name and address to make sure she had it correct. The drinks were potent and we were having a great time. Our name was called so with our drinks in hand, we go to our table. Our waiter brought us chips and salsa as we already had our drinks. The waiter wasn't friendly nor helpful. He was just doing a job. We ordered the mixed fajitas and I asked them to sub the Guac with sour cream. It seems their claim to fame is homemade Guac made tableside. Nope, still not interested. It took about twenty minutes and the fajitas arrived. Defending homemade tortillas and they were good. Skimpy on the meats and peppers & onions but not on the cheese. I kid you not when I say there was 1/2 pound of cheese in the bowl. Not crazy that I had to slice the serrano and jalapeno peppers myself, yes, they gave us whole roasted peppers. We rationed the meat so we each had two fajitas. They were tasty but not the best I have had. The manager was making the rounds checking on customers. He stopped at our table and asked us in a proud voice, "Aren't these the best Fajitas you have ever had?" Honestly, they are good but not the best I have had. He promptly said enjoy your meal and walked away. Guess I shouldn't have been truthful. BF had ordered a second drink while waiting for our food. He said it wasn't as strong as the first. This is the second time of been to this chain and have had horrible service or in this most recent incident no service. I sit down for lunch at a bar that had only 2 other people at it. The bartender sees me then two other people sit down and he gets them chips and drinks and menus. He sees me again. No drink, chips or drink and turns around and does other drink orders. Never acknowledges me or says I'll get with you in a minute, nothing! Then I wait another 5-10 minutes and nothing. I try to wave at him but he doesn't ever look directly at me again. First time to this location in Cedar Park. Solo dinner, Monday night, 6pm. When greeted, I was told that I could sit at the full service bar. (I understand 1 person is not enough to fill a table) I sat at the bar and waited a bit (trying to make awkward eye contact with bartenders) The bartender did not have the warmest greeting, just asked "what can I get you?" I asked for the menu, she handed it to me and walked off. No fluff and I did not feel welcomed. When she came back, I let her know that it was my first time and I had some questions about HH and drink recommendations. Let's just say, the "no fluff" theme continued. I started going to Lupe Tortilla in Houston and was thrilled when it finally arrived in Austin. It's not as if Austin doesn't have good Mexican restaurants, but Lupe's has some standout dishes I haven't found elsewhere! They serve complimentary charro beans and salsa that are to die for, their Chicken Lupe is some of the most flavorful chicken I've eaten, and my absolute favorite are the Flautas. Some of the best Mexican Food I have had in Texas! The steak fajitas are absolutely amazing, they are full of flavor and super tender all the way till the last bite.
