Wonderful lunch with mom. The service was excellent. Started with New England clam chowder. Flavorful with plenty of clams. Next a very crispy fresh green salad. The ranch dressing freshly made in house. We both ordered the rock fish and with cilantro rice. I will have try and make that rice at home soon. The fish was so tender and grilled to perfection. Sam, our waitress, was absolutely fantastic! She made our night. She has a chill vibe, yet is spot on efficient. I asked which Sauv Blanc was best and she let me try a couple! Our pacing was perfect. We had such a perfect evening. The seafood ceviche was a large portion and fresh. It is a tad spicy, as described. I had no problem polishing it off. The halibut was good. Maybe a tiny bit dry. Sam suggested the Brussel sprouts and they exceeded expectations what a great recommendation. So sorry my photos were blurry so not posting. I love coming to lure fish house when I'm craving some fish tacos and some oysters delicious and staff is always kind and helpful.

It's hard to believe that a place can be so popular yet the service be so terrible and yet that was exactly mine and my mother's experience at this location of Lure. Lunch rush be damned, somebody tell me why we watched 2 other groups come in after us, get sat at a table, their drink orders taken and served yet a waiter or waitress had yet to even say hello to us? After about 12-15-ish minutes of waiting, being entirely ignored, we just up and left. I thought we were past places having good food but terrible service. This isn't Dick's Last Resort. If you must go to a fish house, go to the Ventura location. It also has the ambiance of actually being near the ocean. The only views the Camarillo location is offering up is views of everyone else's meal and parking lot. read more

We came here to celebrate a birthday and had a great dinner. This was my first visit to this location and it did not disappoint. We made a reservation since we were a party of nine. FYI, the don't make reservations for parties under eight people. They put our group in a private room Tha fit us perfectly. The service was top notch and we were well taken care of. Our server was on top of everything and made sure we had what we needed. The food was awesome. They serve nice sized portions for the price. My lobster tail was a good size and tasted delicious. It was seasoned perfectly and served with butter. My sides were also flavorful and a good portion. The children's menu fish and chips was as big as the adult fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed their food. I particularly enjoyed the calamari and thought the fried jalapeños were a good accompaniment. Meeting some buddies for dinner at 6 PM on. A weekday night. No problem getting a quiet table. I went with the seared ahi ($29). It comes with 2 sides. I chose Veracruz Soup ($3 add on) and sweet potato fries. The waiter warned me that the soup is spicy. But not a problem despite having a gringo palate. Delish! And the ahi was perfectly seared and very tender - expected at a seafood restaurant but appreciated none the less. Service was excellent throughout. read more

We had a very pleasant dinner last Wednesday, excellent server we had. I forgot to ask her name, she is friendly, courteous and always there when you need something. I will comeback again next time. I love coming here. The food and drinks are always consistent and the happy hour is great. My favorites are the char broiled oysters, fresh oysters and the mussels w/ sausage. Love the oysters, the service was okay until the server either went on break or left. The worst part was watching the cooks. One cool took steak around the corner and kept putting it in his mouth then coming back and handling the food being prepared for customers. Then a customer send back a lobster tail and the other cook took a fast hard slam with the butcher knife to the side of it and put it back up. Then right in front of us took the meat from the part of the tail he cut off and shoved it in his mouth. I usually like seeing the cooks prepare food, but this was not professional. read more

Visited this location on numerous occasions and realized I've never reviewed it. Lure is a great stop for seafood options and very close to the Camarillo outlets. I stopped in for lunch with family and decided to try their Ahi Poke Bowl. For $19 it's actually a really well priced option given the portion size. Every bite I had was full of tuna and the texture and flavors of everything paired well. The taro chips has a little bit of greasiness but also a great crunchy crisp. I used some as a nacho to pile on the poke onto and highly recommend doing that. Although I appreciate that they incorporate seaweed in here, I would've also loved some dried nori or furikake for a little bit of saltiness and additional crunch in this bowl. I ended up getting overwhelmed by the amount of seaweed and started separating it out. I also tried their natural elixirs which are non alcoholic. They have 3 options and I went for the and strawberry version. It was a refreshing drink and for $5 a good substitute for those bored with sodas. Also their bread is always amazing so definitely dig into that. This location can get really busy with long wait times. I do recommend checking it out during off hours or during earlier services like lunch or start of dinner to get a table. read more

One of the best seafood places. It is fresh, simple, and prices are reasonable. This is by my favorite outlet so whenever I am in the area, I always stop by here. The place is super gorgeous with tons of parking spaces. There can be a wait for a table but it shows how popular they can be. Their food is great! Reminds me of food in downtown LA. The seafood is fresh. The mussels are a bit small but worth it. The fish and chips are a generous size and love it Seared tuna plate - it's good but I would skip because it was all too small portion where I felt like I ate a salad and was still hungry. Oysters - fresh. Not gross or slimy. That's a win Ceviche- they are great but again small portion All in all, this place is great. Portions can be bigger but with the prices this is a great value. Went for happy hour with two friends and hubby. The happy hour menu is terrible. I made a meal of the side of seared ahi tuna and house salad. It was delicious and a good value. Hubby had blackened cod with corn salad and potatoes. It was ok. We ordered a side of brussel sprouts to share. While they were delicious, they were not a good value. Service was not bad. The outside patio tables are not comfortable but at least we could hear each other. It was a lovely evening overall. My husband and I became fans of Lure Fish House when we tried the Santa Barbara location two years ago. I've only ordered takeout here, and it's been delicious every time. I also recently learned that their patio is dog friendly. I usually order the Daily Catch that includes your choice of fish with two sides. I've tried the Mahi Mahi (4 stars) and Alaskan Halibut (5 stars), which were cooked just right. The sides were delicious. I've tried the Roasted Butternut Squash (5 stars), Sautéed Spinach (5 stars), Parmesan Potato Cake (4 stars), and Cilantro Lime Rice (3 stars). I once tried the Miso Salmon Bowl (3.5 stars). It was flavorful, and there was spiciness from the cabbage slaw. The bowl seemed to be a smaller portion than the other fish entrees. Don't forget to also order the Sourdough Bread Rolls (5 stars) with your takeout order. They're free, but you need to add it your order. They allow two rolls per entree, and it comes with deliciously whipped butter. The service was 4 stars as our takeout orders are always ready on time even when they are busy. read more

Went Friday for dinner. It's a nice restaurant and has plenty of parking in addition to ample indoor and outdoor seating. Fortunately when we arrived there was no wait. We were served by Dan an excellent and experienced server. We were his first table and quickly the section got busy but he was amazing at managing all the tables. We order some delicious appetizers but the entrees were the show stoppers. The spicy ceviche was fresh and paired with home made tortilla chips. The fish and chips were well battered and crispy. The tequila lime shrimp pasta was well balanced. The Cioppino was exquisite loved the spicy broth it was paired with and soaked it up with the bread. My daughters and I were greeted and seated immediately upon our arrival. Amber was our waitress and she was outstanding! We had a nice booth and it was comfortable and cozy. We shared the baked oysters and they were divine! Both of the girls ordered shrimp tacos which they loved. I had the fish and chips. The fish was delicious! The chips were horrible. They weren't French fries, they were like crispy potato bits, literally bits. I couldn't even dunk them in ketchup because they were so small, yuck . The clam chowder was also very tasty. For entrees, ordered Shrimp and Grits; cooked perfectly, tasty with bold flavors and filling if this is your kinda meal. I went here with a group of friends for dinner on a Saturday evening after spending the day at the beach. The meal started with a complimentary bread basket with sourdough bread that was so delicious we went through 2 baskets for the 4 of us. We ordered the mussels as an appetizer, which came in a flavorful tomato sauce that included sausage. I ordered the seared ahi tuna with fries and coleslaw and my partner got the swordfish with the potato pancake and spinach. Both fish tasted great and were cooked well. I was pleasantly surprised with the coleslaw as I'm not a huge fan but it was light and complimented the fish well. Each entree was around $30 and the appetizer was closer to $15.
