It was nice in the bar area not terribly crazy. Both bartenders were very friendly attentive and helpful. My daughter and I shared a large Lures Caesar which they split for us in the kitchen. It was very good. Husband got Maryland fried rice which he loved. Daughter got short ribs with a cream sauce. It was very tasty- a large portion and very tender . I got the grilled Cobia with Rockefeller Risotto.. Delicious but very rich. One thing I especially like is that they have mocktails on the menu. I had one with hibiscus tea and NA sparkling wine. If you like stale bread and RARE cheeseburgers for kids, this is the place for you. We had to send back two out of three of our kids meals. One kids' meal had a rare cheeseburger, then another was a grilled cheese with bread so stale that it was crumbly. Also, we didn't realize the kids' meals came with fries OR fruit, the menu was not quite clear. Regardless, I feel as though the server could have mentioned "the fruit will be extra" so I could have corrected my decision. There was absolutely no reason why I would EVER pay $15 for $3 worth of pineapple, especially for kids. The waitress was nice enough, I was just very annoyed about the fruit situation. She seemed to think it was intuitive and kinda shrugged when I told her about the confusion. With four kids, $15 for fruit is just insane. She brought cheesecake as an apology for the messed up kids' meals. But I would have rather not had the cheesecake and just gotten the fruit taken off the ticket. They didn't even eat it, as kids do. The restaurant was nice. It just looked a little run down. Like the floors were extremely dirty, they need a good cleaning. The fish and chips was four small battered cod fingers and some thin cut cook-from-frozen fries for $20. The crab cake presented well but it was a little dry and cost $33 (market). As we left, we agreed that we wouldn't be back for seafood which is a shame since the restaurant has a fisherman theme. We might go back to try some of the land proteins, though. read more

This is THE premier place in the Annapolis area for beautifully prepared fresh caught fish. They also do a bodacious Filet Mignon. We love the different choices they offer for preparation styles. And they are very flexible and accommodating in customizing to order. Chris (the owner's son) is a terrific host and made sure we were able to get our preference just right on a very busy day when it must have been difficult-we were most impressed. I feel like I've been driving past this place for ages. A few months back I pointed it out to my wife [she already knew about it] and we started tossing it around as an option for dinner, but the other day we finally decided to give it a try for brunch. The staff was very friendly, and the inside has a cool vibe. Once we were sat, we watched orders come out while we decided what to eat and you could just tell it was going to be good. Everything that came past us looked delicious and the brunch menu had a lot of options. I ended up getting the braised lamb omelette, with both the rosemary potatoes and jalapeno [cheddar I think] grits, and these may have been the best grits i've ever had. My wife got the Huevos Ranchero. The kids got avocado toast and a crab omelette. We all enjoyed our meals, and for me that's big because it rare. Now we have a place for everybody, which is great because some of our other family go-to's have taken a dive over the past 2 years. If you're in the area, or looking for something new I highly recommend this location. I go out once a week for steak (and a glass of red wine). Not dinner, a good steak. I thought I'd try someplace new, rather than y 15-year regular place. Lures was cute. Great outdoor seating, ample parking and lots of energy. I sat at the left bar. My cream of crab was bland. It couldn't hold its own without Old Bay. But I prefer the flavor of food with a little seasoning vs eating a seasoning with food under it. My $49, 12oz rib eye came out gray, rather than mid rare. I couldn't tell if it had been seasoned, either. They instantly took it back to remake. I thought I'd work on my bok choy why the steak was remade. Limp and soggy, it tasted like it was burned to the bottom of a pan. Didn't look that way, but the taste was awful. My ribeye came out again, with the thinner end still gray, but the thicker center part prepared properly. Frankly, a Steak-um would have had more flavor. Even the peppercorn sauce was hardly noticeable. The mashed potatoes were delicious. Whatever wine the ladies gave me was also delicious. I probably won't do this again, since it was a little out of my way home. I'll stick with the place that does my 16 to 20oz ribeye perfectly every time. read more

Even in the winter, it still feels like summer at Lures. This spot is a classic, with a great staff and even better food. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, this is a great place to catch up with friends or family while enjoying some good food. The Crab Dip never misses and the addition of sun dried tomatoes on top is a game changer. The Filet Mignon Sliders are always a hit at our table. I tried the Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad for the first time and it was so good, pretty filling for a salad. Mushroom and Swiss burger is classic. Came by for a work lunch, chosen for location to accomodate one of our team. It is fine, Lure's is a serviceable place to get a meal. The decor is nice though a bit too obvious, the staff is crisp and works well together. Our server (tall Russell Wilson) was great, charming, efficient. My wife and I got Rachel/Rueben's, fries and an ice tea, with tip $50.00. Fries were hot, crisp, and generic. The sandwiches were 'meh'. The saurkraut was there, not properly drained and had no flavor. Result, toasty bread on top, soggy bread on bottom. In todays environment good service and marginal food is what you get for $20 plate. Okay that's the end of the basic review. I am going to use this white space to discuss space, safe space, white space, black space, latin space. This is not CRT, nor racism or anything of the sort. I am simply sharing some thoughts. My lived experience and how restuarants can inform or enrich the lives of all members of our shared communities. Discussions of Diversity and Inclusion are all the rage in business/professional life these days. Intelligent people bear the discomfort of those discussions/situations and improve themselves where/when needed. I often remind people in those discussions about this idea; are you "welcome" or "tolerated". Those two situations feel very different for each individual involved in a social/business/dining occasion. I have been blessed to live a life code switching easily from literally audience with Kings and Generals to the corner lottery store with homeless drunks. I can find solace in the most uncomfortable places. I have been welcomed in each, but felt tolerated at best during this visit. Lures reminds me of a golf country club or the nice dining facility at a senior living community. There is a sterile sameness in the patrons, the menu, the atmosphere that speaks of "protection of our spaces". Every group does this in a myriad of ways. Perhaps Lure's does it (maybe subconciously or as a side product of profit seeking) with menu pricing. Perhaps they are simply (and rationally) taking advantage of location (a well-heeled chunk of a wealthy county that is river adjacent- with Martha's Vineyard) pretensions. Whatever the reason, and Lures need not change a thing, they are not a place for all of us, not yet, and maybe never need to be. We had the money to bridge a gap, that the gap still exists, does not hold up to our "More Perfect Union" ideals. read more

The strawberry mojito mocktail at $9 consisted of a strawberry ice and club soda. No lime, no simple syrup, not muddled. The tiny cup of crab soup tasted ok but needed more old Bay and maybe some crab meat and please leave out the floating gold fish cracker. Not cute. The big disappointment was the Maryland Fried Rice. But then the sweet red sauce was amazing, wasn't quite sure what to do with the side of white rice? I feel like they should offer black beans with this. Buffalo cauliflower is delish, you can do it as a meal or an appetizer. It comes with carrots, cucumbers, and ranch dressing and it's not spicy if this is a concern. Soup came out cold not too much crab meat. Then we ordered our entrees of crab cake which was 26 dollars for 1. It came with mash potatoes and broccoli. My wife got the triple hamburger which you make yourself. My friends for the chirizo taco bowl and mahi tacos. The crab cake wasn't bad. Moist and tasty but for 26 dollars. The broccoli was broccoli and the mast potatoes which I've asked the nice waiter numerous times what was in it to which he said butter and some other stuff. The mash potatoes were horrible. I had everyone at my table taste them. We thought maybe they used like seafood stock or something. Nope. They were gross. If we didn't pack them up or eat them you know it was terrible. My wife's hamburger she liked but definitely not The best burger ever. I hate when people say that and it's not remotely the best. The chorizo taco salad over rice was terrible my friend said. And my friends mahi tacos were ok he said. Our bill was very high for not much in return. Then the food didn't settle well in my stomach. We all agreed we wouldn't come back. My wife got fish tacos for $21 tonight. She is a petite woman and did not get enough to eat. There were only two small pieces of fish for four tortillas. It was creamy and had a great, sharp bite from the jalapeño. This is an excellent soup. Next up was the small wedge salad. It was quite a generous small wedge. It was still hefty and easy to cut. Great helping of bacon and it was not overwhelmed with dressing or blue cheese. The star was the sushi burger and sweet potato fries. The sushi tuna was spicy and seared ever so slightly to stay together like a burger. It was chunks of tuna. I washed it all down with a Downeast blackberry cider. Apropos, I know... The rest of my party enjoyed their meals, especially the kids. The kids menu is spot on and their quality of food was excellent. Service was friendly, accurate, and prompt. Remember to tip well.
