Stopped in a couple weekends ago with some friends on a ride. They each had a couple drinks and then we all had an appetizer or sandwich. I had the cream of mushroom soup which was delicious. I wish I got a bowl instead of a cup. I then shared the Irish Wontons. Honestly, they weren't that great. Mostly mashed potatoes in it, not enough of anything else to even taste it. My husband got the Rueben and was disappointed that it was made with deli corned beef rather than fresh corned beef like other nearby Irish restaurants. Went here the other evening as it was convenient. Food was nasty - sorry. Dried out fish and chips and very undercooked french fries. Really, that's the entirety of the basis for my rating - just a complete let down. Ambiance was OK but not somewhere you'd ever go for the vibe. Very utilitarian. Service was good, reasonably attentive and friendly, but couldn't by any stretch make up for the bad food. Not a good choice. read more

Was there for lunch for 2. Both of us ordered Reubens. On the plus side, nice atmosphere, excellent service. On the negative side, corned beef on the sandwich was on the skimpy side. Went to Molloy 's for the first time ever last night. The ambience definitely reminds me of what I think a pub would be in Ireland - though I have not been to Ireland. Place is a little rustic but very clean. For dinner I had the Shepherds Pie which was very tasty - mashed potatoes were so creamy and the meat and vegetables were very well cooked. Definitely a winner. My husband had the chicken bunratty which was also quite tasty. For dessert the server recommended the Oreo Mousse Cake - NOT GOOD. Too sugary sweet and did not taste fresh - it tasted more like it came out of a box. Hopefully this recipe will be revisited. Server was friendly and Refilled .my iced tea enough. I've been coming to Molloy's for over ten years, when it was previously named the Irish Channel. Just a super cool place to hangout and meet random kind folks who love to chop it up about sports. Because it's an Irish Pub you know they have all the beer brands your taste buds can desire!! The entire inside is loaded with flat-screens but I mainly come for the covered outdoor patio seating where there are several flat-screens to enjoy your favorite game while smoking a stogie! The owner Marty is super non-conspicuous who you will more than likely mistake as a server because Yes he does that just as good as the folks he employs. So if you're ever in the Crofton area and you want a sweet spot to relax and grab a bite.. Oh yeah, the food is way above average for a local bar, then give Molloy's a try. I didn't even know this place existed until a random, rainy Monday night. They were open later than most, if not all, places in the area. When we arrived, it wasn't crowded. Upon entering, we were seated immediately in a pretty secluded spot, which was nice. Our waitress was good too. She checked on us multiple times and ensured we were good the whole night. I ordered the crab dip appetizer and grilled chicken sandwich. Both were decent. For my drink, I ordered a Moscow Mule and I tried the margarita. Both were watered down and not what I expected from a "pub." Overall, I think Molloy's is a cool spot for what it was. It's a bar with many TVs available for sports watchers. When I was there, Monday night football was playing. They are open until 2 am daily but please note the kitchen closes much earlier. read more

Irish pub on St Patrick's Day weekend, so went in knowing it would be packed. That said, the service up until we got our table was fantastic! When we arrived at 4:00 the folks that greeted us said it would be an hour before they could get us a table, but we could stand in the bar area. A couple of pints of Guinness later we got our table - barely an hour! So far we were quite pleased! The Guinness was perfect, the Irish music was good, and the place was quite festive! We were seated at our table for 20 minutes without seeing or even knowing who our server was, so I asked the folks up front. Mike came by a few minutes later and took our drink and food order. Within ten minutes he returned with more pints - excellent! ONE HOUR later, after the people who sat down at tables to either side of us and shortly after we did, had not only received their entrees, but finished their meals. One hour, and we hadn't even received our apps or even seen Mike, as other servers brought the food to the adjacent tables. At that point we felt it necessary to track him down. When we saw Mike at another table, we went over to ask him about our food and request more drinks. About five minutes later the food came, slightly warm from "not Mike" and still no apps. We asked them about the apps. Eventually Mike came to the table telling us "your apps were brought to another table and they accepted them. Do you still want them?" We asked for the apps and ate our food. The fish and chips, chicken pot pie, and shepherd's pie were OK, but the corned beef and cabbage was the worst I'd ever tasted. The cabbage was completely devoid of flavor, and the corned beef was like dry leather with a faint taste of corned beef. It was awful! My boyfriend and I went on St Patrick's Day.. after waiting an hour and 20 minutes for a table, I was told I lost my table because I didn't get to the hostess station fast enough. I asked for the manager and he was very apologetic and very gracious. He got us a table and the experience was amazing. Was looking for a place to meet up with my co-worker this past Saturday and we ended up here. To our pleasant surprise, their happy hour was going on! Yass!!! Who doesn't love a weekend happy hour?! *Their happy hour is every day (except Sundays!) They had some decent specials like $6 mules - I couldn't resist and I got the Jameson mule (was good). Loved the old bay wings. It was a first time visit for both of us and I'd definitely come back again. We sat outside on the patio. There is plenty of seating inside as well and we ended up staying later into the evening and there was a live band. Very good - fried haddock (was hoping for cod) good pickle and average fries. Tried an Irish draft beer - very good, smooth no bitter. Ordered the Poutine Fries - (fries with cheese curd and brown gravy). While this was very good and I enjoyed it.... It was not poutine fries (at least the french version). Well this was a great choice! When researching an post-skating move for the birthday boy, I discovered this place that was virtually across the street and it seemed promising. I made a spontaneous decision to check it out before skating, and it happened to be during their happy hour. YAY HAPPY HOURS!!! There are two entrances.... one is on the dining side that also has a fireplace and lounge area, and the other is closer to the big bar. I took the latter since I parked right near it, and I heard live music as I walked in. When I got to the bar, I could see an older man performing on a stage in the central part of the restaurant. It's a very spacious place. There's even an outdoor area too! So I was greeted warmly by a bartender named Scott as I sat down, but as a first-timer I had to see a menu before ordering anything. Their happy hour lasts Monday - Saturday from 3:00 - 7:00. This is another weekend spot I can add to my list, so that's great. Beer is the cheapest thing here, but they have $4 margaritas, $5 crushes, $6 apps, and a couple of other things.I decided to try a margarita. It has an interesting taste to it, but there is a good amount of tequila in there, so cheers to that. I ordered the bourbon bites and the coconut shrimp to eat. The sweet bourbon sauce was good, but my goodness that's not a filling app at all! The coconut shrimp was VERY hot... I had to wait at least 5 minutes for it to cool down, but it tasted so good. Their apps are on the light side, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. I was definitely good for several hours after that. Overall, I would rate the happy hour as a five star experience. The bartenders checked on me frequently and were very kind. Fast forwarding to after roller skating... it was around 11:00 and the environment was quite different (not in a bad way). There was a band performing and it was LOUD! Not louder than you would expect, but loud lol. The bar was packed! Since there were like 15+ of us, we decided to claim a table. Most people got food, but since I didn't want a full meal I went straight for dessert. First, however, I tried to order a mojito and I was informed that they were out of mint. I then asked for a sangria and they didn't have those anymore. The website says they have a summer special that includes $6 mojitos and sangrias, so I was disappointed to not get either one. I ended up just drinking water instead, and I ordered the Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake. BEST. DESSERT. EVER. By far, that was one of the best desserts I have had in the area in a long time. It was just sooooo pleasant. I didn't even need that big wad of whipped cream it came with. That really made my night. I couldn't see all of the tables, but it seemed like there were only a few occupied tables, and 95% of the crowd was either at the stage or at the bar. After a few hours at the local Skate Zone, my friends and I needed a drink and some grub....glad we stopped in at Molloy's! Upon entering, we were a bit confused as we had trouble locating the rest of our party -- turns out there are two entrances...one on the side of the building and one closer to the front. After getting our barrings we meandered to the packed bar....and I mean packed. We had to squeeze through one by one to reach the actual bar and grab a menu and look for specials. We also quickly discovered how loud the bar is. There was a band performing on a small center stage area and boy did their sound travel -- I kind of wish the music was turned down a teeny bit...it was tough to hear the person directly next to me. I was a part of a large party so we ended up grabbing a table. Our waitress hosted us fairly promptly. A few of the guests were eager to try their summer drink specials of mojitos and sangrias only to find out that they were out of key ingredients; a bit disappointed I order the classic rum n coke. They turned out to be just $4 and they were pretty well made! For my snack, I decided on the chicken tender app. Why doesn't this come with fries??? Or have more tenders??? I paid $10 for 4 little chicken tenders -- although they were tasty definitely wish I ordered something else. Other friends ordered the wings, friends, nachos, and sandwiches -- they all seemed pretty pleased with their choices. I could see myself returning here -- I like the vibe, the food is good (just need more tenders), and the drinks are cheap and solid. Bonus: There is an outdoor seating area!
