It was my first time in Lush and the two girls working were amazing! Jess was the one who helped us and she was so sweet and friendly. Recently went in to our local Lush to find 3 employees sitting and chatting at the counter. I inquired about a couple of products and was deterred from purchasing a particular product being told they frequently get it returned. Though my daughter swears by it. I spent well over a hundred dollars on other products and just received, "Do you want a copy of your receipt." And that was it. As I was walking out my daughter told me that I should get a sample of the product I inquired about (me not knowing that they even give samples) so I asked and they gave me a small one. Overall, I felt like I was a burden and bothering them when I asked questions. They could be much more welcoming and helpful. Amazing customer service! I received an amazing voicemail a few days ago letting me know my order was ready and that I can come get it by Friday. At the end she let me know about parade on Friday and it might be hard to get to. We'll come Friday we drove down dn sure enough it was crazy parking. My gf went walking trying to get to lush but no luck. So I called ans the lady who left said voicemail answered and actually walked 2 blocks to deliver my order to me! Lit up antlers and all! I am so happy to have a Lush in Downtown SLO and this location is fabulous! To say the staff at this location is kind, is an understatement. They always go above and beyond for their customers. For instance, Lush recently stopped making my favorite conditioner bar. The girl helping me talked with me about my hair texture and washing routine for 30 minutes before recommending a new conditioner bar. Then she gave a generous amount of free samples of all of the conditioners for me to try just in case. In addition, this is one of the most COVID friendly stores I have shopped in. As you walk you, you are greeted by an attendant, who gives you a free mini Lush soap to wash your hands before shopping around for products. So your hands are clean and smell superb. I was visiting SLO on vacation and forgot my body lotion. I found this place next door to Sephora, walking around Downton SLO. The store is pretty big, we were greeted right away and I told her what I was looking for. She recommended two different body lotions Charity Pot and Dream Cream. I chose the Charity Pot as I liked how it smelled better than the dream cream. My daughter also needed some help with frizzy hair and she recommended super milk leave in hair spray. My daughter loves it. It has helped her frizz problem. The prices are comparable to most and the quality of the products are very good. read more

I've never used LUSH products but I have a lot of friends who are avid users so I've always known what is available. My friend sent me a LUSH ad recently that has gone viral and it's their shampoo bars and condition bars. This is a much more eco-friendly way to shower, each bar lasts about 80-100 washes, and there is no bottle that'll get thrown away. For about $4, I bought a reusable tin to store my shampoo bar. After sampling the bars on my arm, I decided to get the $10.95 Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar for a 2-week trip that I'm about to go on, and sample a small piece of the conditioner bar. I have really curly hair, so I was told that the conditioner bar can be a hit or miss. Definitely have them sample the different options on your arm, make sure you like the smell (LUSH products can have a strong smell), and get the bar that is best fit for your hair. Do you need more volume, more moisture, etc. LUSH is definitely a little pricier than other products, so I'll see if I continue using them with my first buy! I do love that I'm not buying plastic bottles! read more

Stopped into Lush after work today with my 7 year old daughter. We were greeted by Destiny- we were happy to see her since she was super helpful the last time we were in about a week ago. The last time we went in, Destiny showed me a few products that I was curious about and gave me samples to try. I loved a few of her suggestions and went back to pick up the full sized items. She and the other girl that was working (I didn't catch her name) were very sweet to my little one, helped her pick out a sparkly product and let her pick out a bath bomb to try in the store. Lush is great but let me provide a review related to a specific employee. Caroline was really kind. I came in yesterday because I was trying to find a way to incentivize myself to take a shower/bath. My mom died a couple days ago and it's been hard to do anything. Caroline asked me how my day was, I couldn't bring myself to say why it was so bad but just that it was not good and I was hoping to find a way to encourage self care. Caroline listened to what I didn't say and showed me around the shop, describing different bath bombs and such. She wasn't over the top bubbly- instead she was soft and kind. When I was checking out she gave me a special soap with a note wishing me wellness and healing. I can't express how this small act of kindness impacted me. I recently went here for a private birthday party for my younger sister. We went after hours and the workers (or should I say amazing women) did tutorials on the products, face masks, built a bath bomb and a personal shopping experience. I just wanted to add an edit to this. I found out the hard way, some of their products are not celiac friendly. The associates will help you find something safe to use and are great about doing exchanges if you wind up with something you cannot use. I am so mad that I forgot about Lush being in SLO! I just started my new job at Bath and Body Works and one of my co workers has one of their lip balms and I needed one too. They were a bit hard to find too but now that I know that they and Sephora are just a block down the street, I may be in trouble lol. I went in and got help right away and was directed to the lip products. Someone gave me a demo pot and paper towel to try one of them. I didn't realize the scrub was so dry and promptly dropped some right down my top. After all was said and done, I wound up with a mint scrub, chocolate scrub and two lip balms. Lips were super soft and my rack was a bit on the sugary and gritty side until I got home lol. They gave me a decent size sample of their hand scrub to try and love it! I will have to exchange the chocolate scrub because someone dug into it, so we'll see how easy it is to do an exchange. Obsessed with this place! read more

Stood in line for a while last time I was there, only one register open but plenty of sales people milling about. So first suggestion, open the second register when there is a line. Second comment. I love karma bubble bombs, the original version. Just bought the purple pyramid karma bubble bomb because the gal said it was karma scented. I used it last night . My hands are still bright purple , even after using dawn with bleach in an attempt to get the purple off my hands. Weird. I have never had this happen with any lush product. This place smells awesome and carries products not to be seen anywhere else. Nothing's at all overpowering vs shops like Bath and Bodyworks. There is a minimalist nature to the products. They do not use additional wrappers of any kind on their bath bombs, bubble bars or soaps and most everything is recyclable. They do not test products on animals and try to use as many natural ingredients as they can. It can get pricey, average bath bomb costing in the $4-$9 range. They also carry vegan friendly items. Unique to the brands identity, everything is hand poured/molded/made and identified as such with small labels of who made what you are purchasing and where/when. They also carry make-ups, face masks, shampoos, body washes, creams and a number of other things. They are not very main-stream yet and because of this air of rarity I have noted gifts given of their ware are better received then items that are more known like say Victorias' Secret. This is definitely a splurge luxury. read more
