Everything about our dining experience at Lutece was perfect! Wine was spot on, everything we ate was glorious, and service was outstanding. What a gem!

Tried calling them for a week straight and left two emails, with no response. Good food but they seemingly care very little about being responsive.

Incredible dinner! Every dish was excellent and our waiter Dennis was too. He spent a lot of time walking us through the menu and explaining each dish. We really loved the cabbage dish.

Lutèce is just divine. The location is perfect for people watching if you're sitting outside on nice day and the food is so intentional! Not only is the presentation beautiful, but the flavors are fantastic. The bluefin tuna crudo and burrata salad with snap peas were perfectly bright and fresh, the savory madeline dish was decadent, and the wine was crisp. The service is excellent (attentive but not rushed) and the servers are lovely and very knowledgeable.

Lutèce exceeded our expectations in every way. We'd been dying to try dinner after several great brunches, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The steak tartare was fantastic--bright, balanced, and so flavorful that your taste buds kept dancing long after each bite. Cabbage unexpectedly stole the show as a star appetizer, shining in both the duck sausage dish and the chatter appetizer. For entrées, get the duck. Seriously. So, so good. The flavors were an explosion of "wow" and easily one of the best dishes of the night. We ended on a high note with dessert--so good that my friend, who usually skips dessert entirely, said it was one of her favorites ever. Absolutely going back.

What an amxing find. I lived in DC a LONNNNGGG time ago and in my meanderings pre and after clubbing in Georgetown I don't remember Lutece being there. Ambiance is super intimate and romantic. We were seated outside which in November could be chilly but the weather was still and the heat lamps did their job. Service was attentive and spot on. Great service. The food is amazing. We shared the pithiviens and a gnocchi dish with cheese and mushrooms that was out of this world. Robust wine list with bottles that don't break the bank and still good wine. And of course expensive wines as well. Definitely going back when in DC.

We had an amazing dinner at Lutece! We had a 9pm reservation, and we decided to do the tasting menu. I love that the restaurant is cozy. You're packed in tight like a New York style restaurant, but they make the most of the space they have! The decor is cute with greenery and dried fruits. And you can peek inside the open kitchen. Everything we tried was delicious. Our highlights included the pumpkin gnocchi, the sourdough focaccia, the crudo fin fish, and the duck breast. Both desserts were incredibly delicious. One of the desserts was unique with a honey and cheese combination. The service was excellent throughout the night. We had a really fun date night, and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic food, with incredibly nice and attentive service, in a lively and buzzy and a bit loud (but not too loud) atmosphere. I loved this place and you would too. Superlative drinks too.

The food is Michelin quality, the service is top notch, and the ambiance is warm and cozy. This is the perfect spot for a date, or celebrating a special occasion with a loved one in a more intimate dining setting.

    Cross-section of sticky toffee pudding

I tried the dinner menu at Lutece for the first time and sadly it didn't match the dessert/brunch offerings for me. The pithivier had an unpleasant texture and there were some particularly tough bits I couldn't chew and had to set aside. I like blood sausage, but the flavor and texture here were not good, and the pastry wasn't flavorful either. The sauces weren't enough to save it for me. The sticky toffee pudding was a mixed bag. I liked the taste of every individual element of the dessert, but it wasn't a sticky toffee pudding: the cake was dry and hadn't been soaked in the sauce, and there was no trace of dates. It's fine as a generic cake, but calling it that name made me expect sticky toffee pudding, which it simply wasn't. I couldn't really enjoy it. I regret paying so much for the pithivier in particular, since it didn't taste good, so I won't return for dinner. However, I would still consider coming back for their creative desserts (with a note to avoid the one I had this time). The staff are lovely and the presentation is gorgeous! Portions are very small across the board. It's a tight space, so make a reservation if you can.

Had a FABULOUS time at Lutèce's tonight celebrating mom's birthday dinner. We had a reservation at 8:15, but was planned to be there earlier than scheduled, around 7pm. They didn't have any tables available earlier but were so nice to make a recommendation for nearby bars to hang before our reservation time. Our table became available around 8pm and they texted us to join early if desired, which I appreciated. The restaurant is cozy, on the smaller side. You are quite literally next to your neighbor's table - think Paris or a city in Italy. It's darkly lit, noise level is decently high. We did a la carte, ordered broccoli appetizer, gnocchi and scallops (+ caviar). Surprisingly the winner of the night were the broccoli! They were cooked perfectly/ crispy, and the sauce that came with enhanced the flavors. Scallops were alright, caviar was just meh. Glad I had the option to add caviar because it was a special night, and why not. Gnocchi was super mushy, cauliflower were good though! Overall, their dish had beautiful presentation, sauce seasoned perfectly, but the main ingredient didn't feel super fresh / not cooked to our taste. We ordered two glasses of wine and unfortunately the by-glass wine list was very underwhelming. Should have gone for beer or cocktail. I did like the vibe, service, and the chef's cooking skills, so would like to give Lutèce another visit when their menu changes. Overall though, I had a great time!

This tiny gem is tucked into Georgetown. The bright blue front is darling, and draws attention to what is a beautiful, but tight, space. With maybe thirty seats or so, Lutéce manages to make itself a vibrant and lively space. The food was, from start to finish, extremely tasty. My husband and I began with the bread and cultured butter, accompanied by the marinated olives. The butter was absolutely divine. The basil oil adds a delicious and refreshing herby flavor to the already intoxicating bread. I had the ossetra caviar; and, though my husband (who isn't a fan of caviar) only took a bit, even he was blown away. The crispy, hot potatoes and the briny, smooth deliciousness of the ossetra pair perfectly with the fresh and crisp creme fraiche and chives and dill. While pricey, in my opinion this dish is worth it. For our mains, I got the steak tartare and my husband got the wagyu steak, medium rare. My husband's steak was probably the best bite of food I tasted. While everything was good, this steak was cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauces were so good. The steak tartare was rich and flavorful. Our server told me it's one of the chef's favorite dishes, and I can see why. The red peppers minced into the tartare add a punch of freshness and flavor, and the butter foam on top is a savory dream. The bread was a perfect vessel to make sure I didn't miss a piece of tartare. All in all, the meal was good and we would definitely return. I'm glad I got a last minute opening notification from Resy and that we were able to finally try Lutéce!

The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

As tourists, we had no idea how intimate the space was (or that reservations are recommended even just for drinks!), so we felt incredibly lucky when a staff member took pity on us and offered an outside table. I wish I could remember his name--he truly made the experience. He brought so much energy and personality, setting the tone for the whole night. After scanning the QR codes on the "records" for the menu, we each ordered something different. I went with the Take Me Out--a mix of mezcal, pineapple, amontillado, tamarind, mango, coconut, and lime--and I was not prepared for just how delicious it would be. It was layered, refreshing, and completely memorable. The presentation and attention to detail were next-level. My drink arrived with a perfectly round ice sphere and was paired with a sugared, vegan mango gummy that added a fun, unexpected twist. Our host also elevated several of the drinks tableside--adding custom tinctures and even creating a smiley face with drops of oil and basil in one cocktail nearby. It felt thoughtful, creative, and a little theatrical in the best way. We spent the evening outside, enjoying incredible drinks, easy conversation, and a warm night under the stars. It was one of those experiences that just sticks with you. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to D.C.--and Press Club Bar of Record will absolutely be on my list to revisit. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there
