I wanted my friends to experience several Filipino dishes kamayan style. The Boodle Fight was a hit! Thank you to the gal at MJs Pinoy Fiesta who helped me order the proper size trays of food to feed everyone with plenty of leftovers for them to bring home. They loved every dish on the table. I ordered the following trays of food from MJs Pinoy Fiesta that everyone found delicious: Chicken Adobo, Lumpia, Beef Tapa, Lechon Kawali, Fried Marinated Bangus. Thank you again MJs Pinoy Fiesta!

However, taste still matters most--some of the dishes were really good, while others could use a bit more flavor, especially seasoning. They also have desserts and snacks, though the selection isn't very extensive. The service was just okay. The girl who assisted us didn't seem very welcoming--she could definitely benefit from being more friendly and approachable, as it felt like she wasn't too interested in helping. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a typical fast food restaurant--spacious with good parking available. We might give it another try once their new location opens.

It had a fairly simple set up of a few tables with the food warmed up and ready to be served at the front. You walk up to the counter and just let them know what you want cafeteria style. They don't really have a menu listing everything they serve, nor did they have labels on the glass so you know what to ask for. You just point and they put it in a container. You also seat yourself, but there were only a couple people there aside from me so there was no issue finding a seat. Their water can be found sitting in the front that you serve yourself through an open pot into a small cup. A little questionable as it's not covered or dispensed through a machine, it's just sitting there in an open area. But I'm still alive and healthy while writing this review so no issues there. After ordering the 40 lumpias to go, the lady at the front repeated it with wide-eyed emphasis and told me I'd have to wait. Of course I'd wait, lola! I'd wait all day for lumpia! This is also one of the reasons I ended up ordering for dine-in as well. In addition to the lumpia, I ordered pancit and what I believe to be ginataang baboy. Pancit consists of glass noodles with a mixture of veggies and chicken. It was a bit greasier than I expected, but tasted good. Ginataang baboy is pork stew that is cooked with coconut milk. The cream was rich and incredibly heavy, I would describe as one of the foods you can probably only have once in a while. They also served my dishes with a side of sinigang, and sinigang has always been good to me regardless of the restaurant. While it doesn't quite take the #1 spot on my list of Filipino restaurants, it's a place that I see myself coming back to consistently just to experience my childhood again through a bite, a munch, a slurp, or a sip.

The music gave that sense of Filipino pride featuring various Filipino artists, like Bruno Mars, and even songs that we would typically sing karaoke to. The servers were super friendly and very eager to help with anything. The Adobo Omelet was very hearty and good to eat half and save the other half for home. The Milo Cold Brew was childhood with coffee that brought me back to my time in the Philippines when I would drink Milo on a daily basis. The Ube Tres Leches French Toast was the star of the table. I was originally planning on tasting it and taking it home, but I couldn't resist eating it all. I am so happy I decided to stop by. It all the more made me proud to be a Filipino

While I still miss the old MFK that was closer to me, I'm so happy the owners created this one!! Love the learn Tagalog chalkboard decor. My baby niece loved looking up at the hanging lamps giving Bahay Kubo vibes. Good for groups, families, babies in their high chair. The server was great informative very jolly and welcoming as it was me my family's first time there! Approved all the dishes we got except for the adobo fried rice. I was too full to try anything else!! The meats are the real star and the dishes built around them actually complement everything instead of just being a vehicle for brisket. Their brunch menu is fantastic and don't sleep on the sandwiches. The potatoes are killer, too! Also, the portions are generous, which almost never happens at this quality level. Most importantly, the flavor doesn't take a hit either. Quick bit of context for anyone considering this spot: Le Hut Dinette comes from the team behind Heritage Barbecue, so the meat pedigree is real. The chef, Ryan Garlitos, also has a Michelin Plate Award under his belt from his own restaurant. This isn't just good barbecue slapped onto a diner menu. It's someone who genuinely knows what he's doing running the whole show. Only real drawback is parking in the area. It's rough. Pro tip: go on Sundays when the bread spot next door is closed. You'll actually have a shot at a spot.

I started with the blue bread, which I loved, but the credit to which I owe to 6100 Bread. My other favorite dish was the bread pudding for dessert, which was also 6100 Bread! I got a couple of dishes to share, and they were good, definitely heavy and slathered in gravy. I do think for the portions that the dishes are worth the money, but damn these plates are loaded with thick, fatty pieces of meat. One of the dishes did come with a slaw, but I don't think it was enough to cut through the richness. Maybe it's just not for me! I tend not to like such indulgent meals, but I think this would be a great spot for meat lovers. The inside is beautiful for date night, with retro diner decor with refined touches to fit the menu. The wine selection is large, and it's a quiet space with a nice ambience. I hope to come back to try their brunch and give them a second try!

The inside of the restaurant looks like it may have been recently updated ~ it's nicely arranged with a good amount of seating. Orders are placed at the counter and your food is brought to your table when it's ready. Since it was our first visit, the lady at the front was happy to answer our questions and make suggestions. Everything is freshly made to order, so be prepared for a short wait. Plates come with a cup of egg drop soup (which came up piping hot and was very flavorful) that is served to be enjoyed while you wait for your main dish. My foodie friend ordered a fish dish with the Java rice. I chose the beef rib plate and also went with the Java rice. Siopao was a new featured item and apparently they're known for their bibingka, so I added those as well because at this point, why not right? While my friend enjoyed her fish, she said it could have used more seasoning and she wished that she didn't have to pick out the bones. My beef ribs were SOOOO good!! And the Java rice had a really nice flavor that went perfectly with the ribs. Since we had so much food, we split the siopao (a steamed pork bun), and I can't even begin to describe the bibingka ~ it was rich and delicious, with a slightly sweet & creamy filling. I'd have to have another one to better describe its flavor more accurately. I'm so glad to have discovered Tony's! I can't wait to go back!!!
