So hungry after we landed. We found this Filipino bbq place. Of my! So good. Not sure if it's a new location because I cant check in online. It's called Tony's BBQ and bibingkinitan in Anaheim. So good! The service was top notched, both ladies made sure we were attended to from order to checking in of our meal was good, to the end where white editing outside for our uber, filipina gal said stay and wait inside too many homeless out there. She was worried about us. This piece is not near our hotel, but I don't mind because the food was so good. I found them on Yelp, but apparently a foodie reviewer on IG did a reel on this place. I wish I could go back for breakfast, but I'm busy at the convention all week. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was clean as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The skewers, and the bbq beef were mmmm

Combo plate came with three pork bbq skewers, rice, pickled veggies, sauce and a soup. The pork bbq was really good, paired with the sauce and pickled veggies - even better. I tried the chicken combo plate and it also was good. Food is made to order, expect a wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are plenty of tables to dine in and lots of parking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

After a long day at Disneyland, my friend reminded me of this place she saw on Instagram. We left DL and we got to the restaurant by 5ish. My friend and I were welcomed and told the staff that it was our first time. She told us the popular items so we ordered a Pork Skewer meal and a Chicken Inasal meal. We also ordered a Halo Halo, Taho and 3 Mini-Bibingkas. We ate our meals and for us, it was pretty good. The chicken was very tender and the pork skewers had a great flavor. We had the rest to go and ate some of it when we got home and the following morning. I appreciated the instructions of how to heat up their Taho which even Chowking doesn't even do. Will go back when we are in the area again. I'll try the seafood next time.

If you've never had Filipino BBQ before, I IMPLORE you to try Tony's BBQ. This was my first time, and one bite I was HOOKED, y'all. SO packed with flavor and everything just tastes so freshly prepared, no MSG and none of that bad stuff. Portions here are crazy good, it's basically double protein from what other places give you. I can totally see why the pork skewers are their bestseller here--SO tender and absolutely delectable--but my faves have got to be the liempo (pork belly) or the GIGANTIC chicken inasal (whole chicken leg). And apparently, people come from all over just for their taho, which is like a tofu pudding dessert??? Confirmed, 10 out of 10 ;) Thanks for reading! ^-^

What a hidden gem! Tony's Barbecue in Anaheim is a small Filipino restaurant serving up big, authentic flavors. We tried the grilled chicken and pork skewers, pork belly, and grilled seabass--all perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, served with rice on the side. To top it off, we ended the meal with their Halo Halo and fresh-from-the-oven soft bibingkinitan--such a perfect finish. Service was fast and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back for another delicious, authentic Filipino meal!

Haven't had inasal since I visited Negros Occidental in May. This surely satisfied my cravings! The only difference I found from eating this meal at a street food stand in Negros was the lack of crushed garlic to add to my rice and the use of calamansi instead of lemon. The chicken oil also seemed to be mixed with the rice already. The food and service were outstanding. Will be back!

My husband found this place online and wanted to try it, and we did on a Tuesday. Parking was a little tight, busy plaza too. Anyway, once inside it is a small restaurant with a few tables. You go up the counter to order and pick your own table. Easy ordering but that's it. The food took about 25-30 minutes to come out, the chicken inasal meal was good but the chicken was thin, the pork bbq was great and the sauce that comes with it. When our food was delivered we told the server we're only missing the bibingkinitan, server told us you get that from counter, which we were not told that information when we ordered. Service did not pass expectations, food was good but nothing to rave about. The lady at the counter looks stressed and overworked. Unless they hire more people to get the food going faster or think of a way to cook it faster, we sadly don't see ourselves coming back often.

The food is amazing and instagramable. The flavor is not lacking at all and the price is definitely affordable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is tiny from the outside but spacious on the inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the service is impeccable! They were friendly and welcoming! If you blink driving by you will miss it so don't blink! It's next to Circle K!

    Bibingka!

First time. Friend referral for Bibingka. It would appear this store makes them fresh all day. They were fresh (hot). My experience was 4 separate flavors at 4 different times while eating. Textures of creamy and firm (outside). By far the best I have had in my life. I will return for more as well as to try their BBQ. The service was great for a to go order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Store is a bit of a "hole in the wall" but with food this great, who cares![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plenty of parking at this strip mall.

They were generous with the rice though. We ordered the crispy pata which seem to be the popular item for this place. It was super crispy with a light and crunchy skin which is a very hard process. It smelled delicious and can easily be cut into which is again, a difficult thing to do if done right. My only thing was that it looked big, but once it was cut it actually didn't have a lot of substance. The kare kare came in a big pot and the sauce was bountiful, but the protein (tendon, green beans, tripe) weren't a lot. Great presentation not a lot of substance. I want to support the place, but a bit disappointed.

We have held a baby shower party for our daughter here and she and her husband were happy with the turnout and the outcome then. With such wonderful experience here, we decided to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday with a buffet lunch here last Saturday, July 25. I really appreciate the great collaboration through easy communication and coordination with Jenny, their manager here. She helped me ensure all went well from preparation to execution of the celebration. Almost all our guests raved about how good and delicious the foods were, even their lemongrass iced tea, which a lot of them loved. The costs were fair and reasonable as well as some special accommodations and a couple of complimentary food items by the owner for us for hosting our party here at their Mekeni Restaurant. Thank You and Kudos to the staff for their friendly, consistent, reliable and great overall service their crew and staff rendered to us that day. The team was headed by Jenny, Vanessa and Robert! Aside from the fact that they could have had more electric fans there that day to regulate the uncomfortable warm temperature inside the restaurant that day, everything else went very well and wonderful. We highly recommend Mekeni Pinoy's Pride for dining in, picking up and also having parties to celebrate special events. Let us all continue supporting this Filipino restaurant which makes truly very good quality and delicious Filipino dishes at reasonable prices! Let's Come on down to Mekeni's!

TLDR: It's an overpriced buffet for $25 given the options. If they'd drop the price to..... $20,…read morebut more realistically $23, it MIGHT be worth it. I also feel that the place would be better if they included all the staple Filipino breakfast items (Pandesal, Corned beef, Filipino hotdog, bangus). The taste is arguably 4 stars, but the price point drops the overall feeling to 3-3.5 stars. Food Tocino - It's fine. It tasted kind of store bought, but I think it's good enough to get a few times. Longganisa - It's just.... bad. They were trying to go for the sweet style longganisa, but it missed the spot completely. Beef Tapa - Probably the best option from the viands made available. It's the right blend of saltiness and sourness. The beef also had a good texture. Garlic Rice - I'm glad they didn't mess up one of the cornerstones of Filipino breakfast. It could've been better, but the general quality of the food here was already low enough that it made this one of the better items. Pancit Guisado - Dry, filled with starch filled lobster balls, and could generally use some more stuff in it. I regret getting this and should've eaten more garlic rice Fried Shrimp - I'm glad it's easy to peel, but the shrimp itself is generally flavorless. Egg - I was scared that these mass produced eggs may not have had a runny yolk, but I'm glad to see enough liquid to praise it Tokwa't baboy - The bronze medalist of the meal. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pork belly is on the drier end, but it's small enough that it's not hard to eat. Nilaga - Good. Probably my favorite bite. It's seasoned well, the beef is soft, and there's a good amount of vegetables. Champorado - Decent. Shame that I didn't see the milk when I was getting it. Maybe they ran out, maybe they were refilling it as I was getting. Buko Pandan - Very good. Is it store bought? Maybe. It doesn't matter, still good. Service: You pay first before you're assigned a table. There are a lot of staff who are there to keep the tables clean and to mix the food every now and then to prevent the tray from drying out. Ambiance: Bright, spacious, and inviting. A very good place to have Sunday breakfast / brunch.

It had a fairly simple set up of a few tables with the food warmed up and ready to be served at the front. You walk up to the counter and just let them know what you want cafeteria style. They don't really have a menu listing everything they serve, nor did they have labels on the glass so you know what to ask for. You just point and they put it in a container. You also seat yourself, but there were only a couple people there aside from me so there was no issue finding a seat. Their water can be found sitting in the front that you serve yourself through an open pot into a small cup. A little questionable as it's not covered or dispensed through a machine, it's just sitting there in an open area. But I'm still alive and healthy while writing this review so no issues there. After ordering the 40 lumpias to go, the lady at the front repeated it with wide-eyed emphasis and told me I'd have to wait. Of course I'd wait, lola! I'd wait all day for lumpia! This is also one of the reasons I ended up ordering for dine-in as well. In addition to the lumpia, I ordered pancit and what I believe to be ginataang baboy. Pancit consists of glass noodles with a mixture of veggies and chicken. It was a bit greasier than I expected, but tasted good. Ginataang baboy is pork stew that is cooked with coconut milk. The cream was rich and incredibly heavy, I would describe as one of the foods you can probably only have once in a while. They also served my dishes with a side of sinigang, and sinigang has always been good to me regardless of the restaurant. While it doesn't quite take the #1 spot on my list of Filipino restaurants, it's a place that I see myself coming back to consistently just to experience my childhood again through a bite, a munch, a slurp, or a sip.
