    My fave $1.75

I always appreciate places like this. I love being able to see all the dishes that they make. I also love being able to see up close and personal, a lot of the vegetables and parts of the meat that they use. Everything here was delicious. I must really say, the barbecue chicken was really good. This basically is barbecue chicken skewers without the labor of having to remove the skewers. Getting here at about 1030 in the morning they still had classic Filipino breakfast items available as well. Three meals did cost about $50. But, the portions are pretty large. They may not look like it, but believe me they are filling. Their service is very friendly and quick. The restaurant space is very clear and clean. There isn't excessive clutter or anything anywhere. I love that. Parking is available out front.

I love MJ's Pinoy Fiesta. They have an incredible, wide selection of Filipino foods. The staff is kind and they helped describe some of the items I was interested in. I haven't found too many Filipino spots but I'm so happy I have this one. It is truly a gem. I don't remember exactly what I got but everything was tasty. I especially loved the pork sisig because it had the perfect balance of savory and tartness. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend trying MJ's Pinoy Fiesta.

Millennial Fil-Am here! We've been catering with MJ's for almost 10 years. Their sisig is "safe for millennials/unfamiliar" meaning they're not using head pieces lol but it's so so good. There's something SO good about their bistek. It's more savory than I've had. I also get a lot of compliments with their miki bihon! Super flavorful and my favorite part is how big their lumpia is! It's a casual place, with easy parking, definitely reminds me of Filipino restaurants in LA.

    Sisig is bomb!

Always enjoy coming here for some good Filipino food! They've got a wide selection of dishes, and everything I've tried has been tasty and satisfying. Portion sizes are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. One thing I really appreciate is that they also have a grocery section--it's super convenient if you want to pick up some Filipino snacks or ingredients to take home. Great spot for a quick meal and some comfort food. Will definitely keep coming back!

    Pancit & Abodo...heaven

I was dying for some hometown Filipino food. I found myself in Anaheim & the area seems to have quite a few pinoy restaurants. Most of the Filipino restaurants around me are fusion versions, not so much here. MJ's is very traditional & has quite large variety of main & side dish choices. I had the pork adobo, Bicol express & pancit. My son had pancit, kare kare & sisig. Of course we had steam rice with our meals. I got to try everything we ordered & it was so delicious & flavorful. Very satisfying. The Lechon looked so good! Don't feel intimidated by the number of choices. The counter staff is very helpful in describing dishes & pointing out favorites. I definitely want to try more on my next visit. There is a small area that sells Filipino food products & snacks. The restaurant was fairly busy with tables to eat there. Online orders were constantly being picked up. The only drawback was the AC was out when we were there. Very warm & humid inside. I'll be back when I'm in the area. It's too good to pass up.

This is a restaurant located in a small plaza on Ball Rd; it's become my go to on Sundays. Gotta try the lumpia Shanghai, man. It's one of the best things I've ever eaten. I can't get tired of them. My mom always asks me to bring her some, even my picky nephew liked them! Being completely honest, I never really know the name of what I'm ordering, I just point at whatever catches my attention and so far everything that I've had is delicious. Try the chicken and the pork skewers, they're cooked to perfection

Wanted filipino food prior to our Disneyland Trip. Found this location. The place looked sketchy, with broken windows and run down entry doors. We took our chances. The place inside felt like little Manila. No AC and it was stuffy and warm. Ordered SISIG and Caldereda. My surprise it was actually pretty good. Overall, I recommend. It is definitely a moms and pops store. If you don't mind the home type of ambiance, you are good to go.

2 Item and Rice, veggies and chicken adobo
    Loren L.

Been craving some good chicken adobo, like that of Laila's in Seattle's Oriental Mart at Pike's Place. Has something in Montebello and it was so salty! So here we are at MJ's. Definitely not a pretentious place, very far from it! It's very down to earth hometown vibes and heard a lot of Tagalog being spoken so we were definitely at the right spot! The downside to Turo-Turo food is how hot the food actually gets or is sustained. My food was warm, not hot so that's why 4 stars. The ladies serving were very nice and pleasant and we had no complaints on how we were treated. If we are in the area, we would definitely stop by!

1/2 rice 1/2 pancit 2 item plates with Bistek, Lechon Kawali Dish, and Chicken Adobo. + Turons and sinigang. So much food and so good

I went for the first time and the food is so yummy and the portions are huge. It really reminded me of my grandma's cooking and made me feel so cozy. We tried the pancit, chicken adobo, bistek, and lechon. The chicken was fairly bony which made it hard to eat but the huge scoop compensates and leaves you with a good portion. The turon was also delicious and the wrapper was super crispy and sweet. The staff is super sweet and friendly. They were really patient with us. They also had a decent little selection of Filipino foods like frozen tocino, Jack n Jill Chips, and calamansi instant pancit. Also, the water dispenser has ice in it so the water is super cold and accessible. I'm so glad I got the craving and chose this on a whim :)

Is this a dine-in restaurant or just to-go?

It's basically like a Panda Express with dine in seating, or you can take it to go!

I haven't been here for awhile, is there a buffet option still for this place?

It's not a buffet that you scoop your own food. This is a point point system where restaurant staff will scoop whichever you like.

Are you open for new years day?

Do you still have your buffet?

    sorry no more AYCE buffet

Do they sell Lechon Baboy for catering?

Yes advance order is required.. and you can pick up in the store and it's thru papa j's lechon.. we have 2 sizes large and XL.

    Are you still selling isaw?

No isaw in the menu as of the moment. Thanks

Do we have to order ahead and pick up or we can still go inside and order?

Store is open but only for takeout and grocery. So you can still point and select the items in the food warmers. Wear face covering..Limit 4 persons at a time and practice social distancing when inside the store.

Do I need to order a day before if I'm getting 50 to 100 pcs of lumpia?

A day ahead is prefrerred but 30 mins to an hour is okay as long as we have it in stock.

What is the size (dimensions) of the #1 Catering tray?

No I don't have dimensions but feeds 10-15 people

Can someone please post a list of the party pack/catering menu for food options and prices?

    Is the buffet daily?

Yes everyday... with opfions of combo plates or ayce buffet (group must select the same option)

The restaurant is clean and does not have smell. Kare-kare - I remember, back in the days, BF kare-kare was served bland so you can use the bagoong to add umami to the dish. Now, you cannot add bagoong anymore because it will make the dish too salty. Don't get me wrong - it was very good, but I'd rather add my personal flavor with bagoong to the dish. Crispy Pata - was perfect! The meat and the skin were soft and crispy, and NOT salty. Highly recommended. Lumpiang Shanghai - very good too. There was a member of our party that is not Filipino and doesn't eat shrimp because she hates the fishy taste and was surprised that there is shrimp in the lumpia and love it anyway. It was crispy and was perfect with the sweet and sour sauce. Chop Suey - it's good but has too much sauce that it's soupy. We also ordered Sinigang and pansit, unfortunately, I didn't try them (overwhelming) so, I can't review them. Overall, we had a good experience at this particular Barrio Fiesta! * Who: partner & I * What: random late lunch…read more* When: Saturday a little past noon * Why: hungry after apartment touring * Space/Decor: in a small plaza that had plenty of parking when we arrived. Average space in the sense it's rectangular & like any mom/pop hole in the wall. You step in, tables to your right going all the way back, & left front side has cash register, sweets display, & water dispenser while the rest of the left was the kitchen. Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10

I also feel that the place would be better if they included all the staple Filipino breakfast items (Pandesal, Corned beef, Filipino hotdog, bangus). The taste is arguably 4 stars, but the price point drops the overall feeling to 3-3.5 stars. Food Tocino - It's fine. It tasted kind of store bought, but I think it's good enough to get a few times. Longganisa - It's just.... bad. They were trying to go for the sweet style longganisa, but it missed the spot completely. Beef Tapa - Probably the best option from the viands made available. It's the right blend of saltiness and sourness. The beef also had a good texture. Garlic Rice - I'm glad they didn't mess up one of the cornerstones of Filipino breakfast. It could've been better, but the general quality of the food here was already low enough that it made this one of the better items. Pancit Guisado - Dry, filled with starch filled lobster balls, and could generally use some more stuff in it. I regret getting this and should've eaten more garlic rice Fried Shrimp - I'm glad it's easy to peel, but the shrimp itself is generally flavorless. Egg - I was scared that these mass produced eggs may not have had a runny yolk, but I'm glad to see enough liquid to praise it Tokwa't baboy - The bronze medalist of the meal. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pork belly is on the drier end, but it's small enough that it's not hard to eat. Nilaga - Good. Probably my favorite bite. It's seasoned well, the beef is soft, and there's a good amount of vegetables. Champorado - Decent. Shame that I didn't see the milk when I was getting it. Maybe they ran out, maybe they were refilling it as I was getting. Buko Pandan - Very good. Is it store bought? Maybe. It doesn't matter, still good. Service: You pay first before you're assigned a table. There are a lot of staff who are there to keep the tables clean and to mix the food every now and then to prevent the tray from drying out. Ambiance: Bright, spacious, and inviting. A very good place to have Sunday breakfast / brunch.
