This is the definition of cheap and feeling we got a ginger, chicken and plate and a teriyaki beef plate for $25 out the door. It's not gonna win any prizes on taste for me. Food is more on the bland side, their ginger sauce is good. Saw the sign while driving back to the city and liked the name, so I stopped in for some quick chicken and rice. The place has a decent sized parking lot with a steady flow of customers going in and out for takeout, which is a very good sign that the food may be fresh and cooked to order. There was lots of seating inside, a sauce bar for your orders and everything looked clean. The staff were friendly and very quick, and you can see them cook the proteins fresh in the back. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with extra chicken with a few sides. I liked the portion sizes and how fast the food came out. Unfortunately, the batch of chicken I received was quite tough and dry. I tried to save it with some warm teriyaki sauce from the sauce station, but it didn't do much for it. The egg roll was just okay and resembled more of a fried spring roll, and the shrimp tempura had a thick, doughy texture I didn't care for. The chicken is always cooked nice and fresh and you see them barbecuing it. The service is fast and good quality and good pricing.

My fiancé and I come here all the time. It's a great healthy spot to grab after the gym or whenever you're craving something fresh. The food itself can be a little bland, but they have really good sauces, and you leave feeling satisfied without feeling heavy or gross afterward. You definitely won't leave hungry :) I do wish they would update the interior a bit. The place could use some renovations and a more modern feel. The last time we visited, it was raining and water was actually seeping through the windows. It seems like they put a lot of focus into the food, but not as much into maintaining or upgrading the restaurant itself. Regardless I will continue to come here it's one of my favorite places. read more

I asked for extra cabbage I would have been better off just going to go buy my own head of cabbage and cooking it for the extra price I had to pay for it and it didn't even seem like they gave me extra cabbage. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl with extra chicken. The food smelled good but the building was heavily ran down both indoor and outdoor. Staff was stand off ish and almost shy. When my food came it was a bigger portion than I expected and the price was good. Sadly the chicken was way overcooked and it killed the entire meal. No amount of teriyaki sauce would fix it. The rice and vegetables (carrots and broccoli with cabbage) were a little past al dente, so for a 15 minute ride home, we thought it was good. The chicken and pork were dry and as first timers, we didn't know to ask for sauce. In fairness, perhaps it was the last of the day's offerings (they were closing in 30 min). I like that the chicken is not overly salty, it's not dry, and that they don't put sauce on it so you can make it how you like. They have a station to fill up lil containers of sauces. Saw this hole in the wall while going to Home Depot in Manteca and sure enough on my way back decided to give them a try since I believe in Helping small business before corporations, overall was satisfied good chicken, good quality food bought me and my co worker food for about 20-22$ got extra hot sauce (best hot sauce around any chicken bowl spot that's forsure!)
