Luu's chicken bowl is always the best healthy option! Their teriyaki chicken is to die for. The beef and sweet & sour chicken are also amazing. The egg rolls are always crispy and oh so good. I never realized how much I love cabbage until I had theirs! The veggies are always cooked to perfection and the sauces!! Don't even get me started on the sauces!! Cheap, fast, and good! I LOVE their ginger bowl. The chicken is always moist (sorry if that word bothers you), the rice is always perfectly sticky, the veggies are of perfect cooked texture, and that ginger sauce is just something else. I've tried other things on the menu but this is always my favorite. My boyfriend loves the chicken bowl with extra chicken. He loves their hot sauce and gets so much of it to use instead of the teriyaki sauce that the bowl comes with. The hot sauce is on the vinegary side - FYI. Probably my favorite place to order from in town. My only complaint is sometimes the beef is a little crispy but to be expected when grilling. Luu's was always our go to on a lazy, don't want fast food type of night .. sometimes even multiple times a week . We went there today. Treated my sister who was visiting us . No where near what I remember. Prices two times what all menus, including their to go menu and the menu here on YELP, show. A chicken bowl on the Yelp menu is only $3.49 but when I went today it is $6.49. Every item on the menu is like this. The teriyaki that used to be thick and delicious is now extremely watered down. Beef was dry. Veggies have strange flavor-like they used frozen veggies. Wife's and kids chicken was extremely dry. Very sad when this was once THE place to go for a chicken bowl. I ALWAYS have to order from this place when I stop by Manteca (which is alot). My go-to is the Teriyaki Chicken with extra veggies & some teriyaki sauce on the side this place NEVER misses! It's always so hot and fresh and so flavorful and tender. This location is probably the best one in the valley. I wish the inside was renovated to look a little bit nicer but I just always end up taking my food home anyways. read more

Wanted to try something new in the area and came across Luu's Chicken Bowl. I assumed it was going to be good based off the reviews but not entirely.. I ordered a Teriyaki chicken bowl and the bowl had no chicken maybe 7 pieces literally. Bowl was full of rice and the chicken was sort of burnt with no flavor. Their teriyaki sauce was okay but I've had better at Hawaiian BBQ's..Even when I took my order over the phone I knew it wasn't going to be what I was expecting, the girl at the register didn't even sound like she enjoyed her job. Have any of you in Manteca experienced rudeness from an employee at LUU'S CHICKEN BOWL off Main Street? A few days ago, I ordered a teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice, only to find out that I had received white rice. I called the manager and she agreed to replace it. But when I arrived, they refused to replace my order. The cashier was extremely rude, argued with me the entire time, and refused to let me talk to her manager, claiming that she wouldn't be able to understand me. My friend and I go here quite often! The prices have gone up but are still reasonable! The food is really good and portions are really big! My friend loves the beef and pork he says you can't go wrong with them and I get the chicken which is really yummy but can be dry sometimes! My favorite is the shrimp and the sauce that goes with it is delicious! The sauces are self serve and really good! We only go for takeout so can't say much about staying the ambiance of the place! Hard to beat the quality (and qty) of food for the money paid. Service was pretty quick, they were plenty busy on a Monday night (mostly take out like myself) but turned it around in about 10-15 minutes. I ordered a combo beef & pork plate as well as a teriyaki chicken salad and everything was done well. The sauces and extras (ginger, kim chi?) are a nice touch as well. Fast, frugal and delicious!! By the time I called in the order and drove there, the order was already done. I have have been going to this restaurant off and on for years now and their food is still great and at a great price. I can eat the whole bowl and fill full (but not over stuffed). The normal staff that work here aren't here anymore and it seems that they have changed the staff to a younger generation which is fine but they have no pride in keeping the restaurant clean. I used to love this place. But it is not the same. I have no problem with the prices being raised. I do have a problem with less than half the amount of chicken that I used to get, 2 small pieces of cabbage and 5 slices of carrots. Last nite my friend wasn't feeling well and she gave me a 20 dollar bill to get her a chicken dinner at the Chicken Bowl. I was given change for a 10 dollar bill. One of my favorite spots in Manteca! I got introduced to this place by a few friends when I worked at Bass Pro Shops in Manteca and went here for lunch. Wow!!! The best teriyaki chicken bowl spot I've been to. My favorite plate to order is the Grilled Pork Bowl with extra pork, broccoli, and brown rice. The portions they give you is no joke and it's so good. Once you get your food go around the station and get some of there orange spicy sauce. I went there on Thursday at 2 pm and got two dbl chicken bowls I ate a small amount maybe 4oz gave the rest to my daughter, by that evening I was sick as can be. I had a stomach ache and threw up, and my granddaughter came in and told me she was sick, then my daughter came in and said she was sick. Omg who didn't wash their hands etc. By morning we were feeling better but the worse was the women taking and giving you your orders had no mask on scary and when i called to let them know what was happening and that she has to wear a mask, she would not talk with me just had me sit on phone while she helped customers.
