LUV just can't help trying to game their customers. I have been getting the "basic" wash for years so I know exactly what it is and how well it cleans my car. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also know the folks who take your credit card at the gate are trained to upsell you and I usually have to listen to some sort of pitch to get a membership or a more expensive wash.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I curbed that somewhat until today by handing the card to the clerk and saying "I want the basic $12 wash and that is all I want" and that worked for a few months. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today when I offered the same information with my card to the young man on duty he said "You know, the basic wash is really basic" and proceeded to point to an area near my driver fender and tell me that I had stuck on spots that the basic wash would not remedy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I knew I had no such spots and I also knew he had been told to say that in order to get me to change my order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I cut him off and he told me how many customers who know what the basic wash is get angry with him when he goes into his routine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My suggestion to him was that he get management to realize what an awful position they are putting him in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That is not going to happen with this group. I just think it is sickening that they are asking their employees to lie and it is also ignorant of them to think that any even half-witted customer would fall for that approach. I also know that the higher priced washes (of which I have had many) do not clean the car any differently-they just add shine and polish to the finish and the tires-no deeper cleaning function at all. Luv has such a good product-why can't they do business with respect for their customers and their staff? I just went to the Luv car wash. I did the most basic wash, which I normally do. The back of my Honda pilot did not get washed- which I noted immediately at the vacuuming station. It was good for the first couple of months... Otherwise, what a disappointment! I've been a "member" for nearly a year. 1-I'm being charged more than I'd originally agreed to 2-There is almost always at least 1 piece of machinery that isn't working. Yesterday, there were 2 that weren't working and possibly 4... 3-Yesterday, I ran my car through TWICE because it had done such a terrible job the 1st time. I still had to wash more sections when I got home because it did such a bad job. 4-When I first joined "Splash Express," there would be 2 employees who would do a quick "pre-scrub" of the car before it would roll through the car wash. That part of the service was discontinued months ago (but the monthly price didn't go down). 5-When I first joined, Splash Express provided cleaner & rags where the vacuums are. They no longer provide cleaner (but the rags are still there). Again - no change in price for the reduction in service provided. When the company changed hands (or just changed names?) and "upgraded" the car wash, seems it was actually a downgrade. I wish I'd canceled this service many months ago. I was giving some free car wash coupons so I was like I'll try this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I drove up to the machine the man at the front helped me and said with the coupon I was able to pick any wash I'd like, so of course Im gonna pick the most expensive one lol $28.99 hello for all the bells and whistles![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I drove up and this other guys was at the entrance of the wash and waiting to give me a car freshener... Ummm yes!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was like wow this is like the royal treatment up in here!!!! Amazing wash and I was able to use the micro fiber small towels to dry my car and the vacuum!!!! Used to give a quality clean, but no more. Still have dirt and debris all over. And then water spots on top of that since you now have to wait for a space to vacuum and dry. We didn't even get to vacuum, we opted to just grab a towel and dry in regular parking. Also couldn't even get out since multiple people are parked waiting for a spot. Felt like a huge waste. I have a membership, this was the hubs car so we paid for a single. Last two times I've come as a member have been equally terrible. Months ago, they kept charging my card and when I noticed, I called them right away to stop. Since then, I have not been back! Now fast forward to today, they are doing this to my husband card.
