I have never been to the storefront but i can speak for the quality and taste of these cookies. I love love love these cookies. I have only eaten the chocolate polka dotties until 2 days ago when i discovered the lemon polka dotties and now im in love. It has the proper buttery, crisp, and chewy cookie with the hint of lemon within the cookie then the right sweet buttery lemonness in the hardened frosting. Thank you for donating to North Helpline food bank where i was able to select this product and sample its deliciousness. These wonderful cookies are the sunshine in my food bank haul. If im ever in the area, i hope theres plenty to take home. Unfortunately im not sure if i can make it in person. In Rainier for a meeting yesterday. My first time visiting Main Street Cookie Company. An amazing assortment of great looking cookies. When I asked the pleasant young woman behind the counter how to choose what to try, she said "Buy a dozen and get another free." So I did. Ate one on the way home and shared with my wife and brother-in-law at home. We all thought they were the best cookies we could remember eating. I tried the bakery from a groupon i got. It was good then bought 2 more groupons,I was travelling and didn't get a chance to use them and they expired.So when i went in to use them even tho the original price u paid $24,00 is still good for life. Spelled out in the groupon i just wasn't able to get the bonus which was a free dozen. The lady behind the counter didn't know what to do so she took it in the back to talk to the baker apparently he didn't know either so the lady called the owner and put me on the phone with her, she wasn't very nice and offered me half of what i paid $12.00. Unethical at its finest. For someone to do this speaks louder than what her business means to her. I traveled over an hour to get there. But i tried to tell her its spelled out in the groupon that if it's expired the original amount u paid is still good, she still only would offer $12.00 at the point i just said no i wasn't going to keep arguing the point. I can see it was going nowhere. i really give this place zero stars but had to give one for to write this. its a small town and if i had a business i am sure i wouldn't have done that. DON'T BUY GIFT CERTIFICATES HERE Please know, the cookies are still excellent but slightly smaller than in the past and now the frosted cookies cost the same as the unfrosted ones. However the owner is a different matter. For the past 3 years my best friend has sent me multiple gift certificates for MSCC because I told her how much I liked the cookies. I spread them out over many months as treats. I have never had a problem in the past using a gift certificate and any coupon MSCC puts online. Until last Friday when the owner decided that a gift certificate and her online coupon for buy 6 get 7th free couldn't be used together. I asked why and she pointed to the coupon which says "Not valid with any other offer or prior purchase" I asked isn't your gift certificate the same as using cash, she said yes. I asked are you saying a gift certificate is a prior purchase, not like walking in with cash, she said no it's like cash. I asked are you saying your a gift certificate is a coupon, she said no it's like cash. I asked then what is your reasoning that they can't be used together if the gift certificate isn't another coupon and isn't a prior purchase but is like using cash and she said because I'm the owner and I say you can't. I told her fine she lost a long standing customer over 1 cookie. She gave a big sigh, like she was doing me a favor said "Ok, ok I'll LET you have the coupon this time" in this really put upon tone of voice, like she was doing me a favor by honoring her own gift certificate like the cash equivalent it is. I told her, don't bother, give me the 5 cookies my $10 certificate covers and I will never be back and I will never recommend your company again. She said "I TOLD you I would honor the coupon THIS time!" again as if doing me a favor. I certainly wasn't going to buy a 6th cookie to get the free one like I planned when I went in and give her any more money. She seemed shocked I refused to purchase another cookie to get one free and ALLOW her to GIVE me the extra cookie. I took my 5 cookies and left. Again nice cookies, shady business practices. Rude owner. Won't be back and after 3 years and much money spent I will tell my friend to never purchase any more gift certificates from Main St Cookie Company. And I will NEVER recommend her company again because the product is only part of a business, the services and business practices are just as important. Her's are sadly lacking. read more
