WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER Did a walk in with my mother. Went for a pedicure and nail acrylics. Lady who worked on my mother and I toes were very nice. A young lady and seem to be a manger there were very unpleasant and unprofessional. My mother already had acrylics. "Manager " said she would do a whole new set for $55 including toes. I had agree too. UNTIL the young lady working on my mother nails hurt her actually nail by trying to take off her acrylics with other one. My mother immediately told her to stop. She said it would be QUICKER that way instead of doing it the right way being the soaking method. The only method I've ever seen a nail tech do. I then explained to her to do it the right way and to NOT DO her nails just simply remove her current acrylics because she was in pain. The young lady agreed. Once they were done with her toes the young lady asked me what color my mother would like for her nails. I told her NONE because she wasn't getting her nails done only a removing. The young lady then told the "manager " what I had said. As the manager was working on someone she yells at me very disrespectful and unpleasantly loud that I had told her I was paying $55 for the whole thing. As the whole room turns around to hear my reply. I then explained to her I had changed my mind because the young lady didn't remove my mothers acrylics right and she was in pain. The "manager" then started talking in her language loudly, while working.As her coworkers listened in and did nothing but look at me and my mother with attitude and very rude unfriendly faces, while they laughed at what the "manager " was saying. WORST SALON EVER!!! SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!!! Not LGBT Friendly Being a transgender male is already hard enough to deal with some people. Im new to the era and thought this salon would be a great fit for me. UNFORTUNATELY I WAS WRONG. Should have read the yelp reviews 1st. I went in for a new set of acrylic nails. As she removes aggressively my current ones off. I had to tell her to stop. She was very upset and left to assist other client. I was left alone sitting at the table for 30 mins. Keep in mind I went during the week and it wasn't busy. I then got assisted after trying to someone's attention. I then had someone new help me. Once she was done taking off my set. She put the new acrylics on me. She cut them down and i noticed they were cut uneven and my left hand nails were shorter than my right hand. I asked her to fix it. Aggressively she grabs my hand and glues back on what she hand cut off. I immediately told her i didn't like it. She didn't listen to me and keep gluing then on. She then cut them and filed down to the shape i wanted. MY NAILS LOOKED HORRIFYING!!!! They were all crocked and very much uneven!!!! I told her i didn't like it and didn't want me nails done. As she was taking them off she was upset,rude, and aggressive with me. She kept talking in her language to her coworkers upset. They were all looking at me making me feel humiliated and uncomfortable. I could tell they were making fun of me as well because I am a transgender. I hate that place!! I am leaving this review not to just be negative, but so hopefully the nail techs can see the feedback and improve their technique. This place is nice, clean and the staff is very friendly. My problem is... my nails do NOT last! And for the price, they should. I came here for the first time less than two weeks ago. I got a dip manicure and two nails needed a fake tip. I loved how they turned out! But one week later I had to go back because two nails had completely popped off. Not broke from something I did, the entire piece of dip powder popped off like a while fake nail. Went back to have them fixed, they charged me $8 even tho they were done there the first time. I guess one week, fine. Now, here I am... another 5 days since getting those two fixed... in hawaii for a trip, and literally almost every nail has popped off! I didn't go swimming, break them, or do anything that broke them. It's the way they did the dip powder. I've been doing dip powder since before anyone knew what it was... so I know what's wrong. This technician would paint the bond coat on all five nails BEFORE dipping them in the powder. This causes the bond to dry, and therefore it isn't pulling the amount of dip powder properly. You are supposed to dip every nail IMMEDIATELY after painting, for good reason. Of course it saves time for them though, to paint all five then dip all five. Unfortunately, it results in very poor quality work and nails that don't last! Also, she only did two layers of powder when almost every place does three. When these nails started popping off, I was like no wonder, because the layer of dip was actually so thin. All of this just makes me feel like they do everything they can to get you done QUICKLY and onto the next customer... but for $90 for a dip and pedicure??? I think they could spend plenty of time and ensure my nails will last a minimum of two weeks. Anyway.... it sucks. Bc they are nice and I like them. But the nails don't last and nobody has time to go back every week to get them fixed!!! Please take these notes and start doing your dip with more care and better quality. read more

I was able to book my appt online for right when they open at 930am. I walked right in and she took care of me. I only had 30 min but she took my gel nails off and gave me a nice manicure. In response to Hannah's reply: I did ask for that and she told me "this is better" and didn't know exactly what type of GELX that was being used. I was very clear as to what I wanted. I think yes there was a huge miscommunication because if you're marketing a service one way and that's not what the client is getting.. very misleading. As I mentioned, nails turned out okay but what I asked for is not what was used on me. If you're looking for GelX or Hard Gel Fills- this is *not* your place. I came here looking to get a GelX fill.. they used "builder gel powder" .. that is acrylic.. Gel Powder is essentially EMA acrylic/ monomer repackaged. Actual Builder Gel comes in a jelly like consistency labeled as "soft gel" or "hard gel". As I was in the middle of my appointment I asked the gal doing my nails what type of gel she was using on my nails and she couldn't give me a straight answer. She told me "this stuff is better".. even when I asked for the hard gel in the bottle. I was never asked about the shape of my nail either- she just went in and started filing away. For someone who was specially looking for Gel it is very frustrating to be lied to about what products are actually being used. They mark up the selling point on "builder gel fill" since it has become more popular. My nails look nice, for acrylics. But I would not return for the sole reason of being lied to and mislead about the actual products that are being used on a service I am paying for. Hoping this helps save some trouble and frustrations for someone else who only uses GelX / hard gel. read more

As a customer of this salon for many years I will sadly go else where. You should treat long time customers accordingly. She has all new nail techs as well. I've been going to this salon for quite a while but lately I haven't been happy with the service. I like the quality of the manicure-pedicure but they're not very friendly. They rushed through my appointment, the hand massage was about five seconds on both hands. Neither the manicurist nor pedicurist greeted me or said thank you when finished, they just walked away and started working on a new customer. I did leave a good tip but they never say thank you or even smile. I feel they expect a tip but are not appreciative of it. I've gone here for an acrylic set/fill twice, and both experiences have been great!! I made an appointment online for myself both times, but from what I could tell walk-in appointments were also taken care of fairly quickly. The priority is definitely with those who have made appointments, though. I usually get my nails done in Fountain Valley, but I had time to spare around Newport so I decided to come here after price searching the area. A full set ranges around 22-25 dollars around here, but at Luv Nails they do it for $18. I thought "what a steal!". The salon is very small, but clean. The ladies here are really soft spoken, but are really nice. My technician was young and seemed like she was new to this. She cut me when surfacing my nails, I didn't make it a big deal though because I honestly get cut EVERY single time I get my nails done, no matter where I go LOL. It seems like there's no escaping from that for me anymore. I got long coffin - shaped nails and she did a pretty good job. Although, her paint coats were pretty heavy so the paint didn't dry as quick and well which resulted in bubbles and them not being smooth. I'd probably come back if I was in the area, but will ask for a different technician. read more
