I decided to try this place on my lunch break since it's so close to work. I just wanted a simple mani/pedi and the nail technician (Kim) was so detailed. I'm 7 months pregnant so my feet are beyond swollen but she took her time massaging my feet and legs which felt sooo good and did a fabulous job with the nail polish. She also made sure to get all the callus off the bottom of my feet that has been building up really bad the last couple of months. She spent so much time giving me a nice relaxing pedicure that I ran out of time and couldn't get my manicure done but she convinced me she could still do it really quick since I just wanted a cleaning and no color. I've come in to Luv ur Nails on several occasions and finally decided to write a review! I usually go in for an acrylic full set and Sonia always does such a wonderful job! I've gotten 2 full sets, 2 fills, & a no chip manicure. The most recent time I went in, it was for a fill on my acrylics and I ended up choosing a cat-eye red color for my nails that I absolutely love. Sonia took the time to make sure it was perfect & looked the best it possibly could. Every time I come in, I leave happy with the results. One thing I really appreciate is Sonia checks in throughout the process and makes sure I'm happy with the shape, length or how the color is turning out. Pro: They were able to see me the same day I made an appointment They called to let me know I could come earlier since someone had cancelled The techs were kind. The massage chairs for the pedicures were nice! Cons: -All three techs working that day, worked on me instead of just providing one tech. Which that affected how they treated my nails. I felt like I had to correct each tech over and over and I didn't want to have to do that. -The lady who did my pedicure, was soooo Anxious it was giving me anxiety instead of calming me down. At one point, she kept making mistakes and it was frustrating because I didn't want to be rude (she may be having a bad day), but I also didn't want a poor job done -My tech accidentally spilled the manicure nail water all over the front of my new dress...and just stared at me when it happened. I literally had to TELL HER to get a towel or napkin or something before she moved. It was really really frustrating. She then asked me while I was wiping myself, "you done?" It wasn't in a condescending tone but it was a very careless question...seeing as she hadn't apologized...nor helped. It was frustrating. -After finishing my manicure (about 8 minutes later), she apologized. This place was ok, but it's not worth returning to. I have been here once or twice before, but haven't written a review yet. I went in for a no-chip manicure today and Olga did a fantastic job!! I showed her where I had recently torn one of my nails, and she was really gentle when she shaped and filed it, then glued it before she started with the polish. I had picked a deep orangey coral with a yellow gold for an accent, but when she painted my first nail, it looked kind of sheer and pink. She stopped after that first one and asked "do you think we should pick a different color?" Which I *really* appreciated, because we were able to fix it in no time at all. She helped me pick a creamy pastel coral instead, and I asked her if the bright gold accent would still match, she said "Um... No. Maybe rose gold?" Which again- I really appreciate! Please help me not make a terrible decision, haha. I love the colors that I ended up with, and she was a perfectionist with my edges. I made an appointment for no chip, and fixing two nails that broke the week before. I got there and they took in a lot of walk-ins. Actually accepted every walk-in. So I sat and soaked my nails for 30-35 mins. Some of my fingers started to burn.. my person will paint someone's toe nails without gloves and come over and touch my finger nails. Wth... ewwww.. Didn't have the color I wanted.. which is no big deal. But when she fixed my broken nails, she made them into almond shape.. my other nails stayed round. So basically my fingers don't match. Didn't trim or shorten my other fingers. She ran around 3 different people, including 2 walk ins. I was afraid to ask her to fix anything bc she looked pissed and also very very busy. Warning!! Picky, detail oriented review ahead. ;) For the past 4 years, I've travelled 1.5 hours to have my nails done. I had found someone who paid attention to detail, had a good selection of polishes, and had fair prices. Recently, the person I've gone to has become unavailable, so I needed to find a new salon, preferably close to home. With my daughter's prom and graduation happening in the next week, I was terrified to try a new place. I asked for suggestions on a local group and called some of them. I was disappointed by what seemed to be a just-make-a-damn-appointment-and-stop-asking-questions mentality and the prices were ... interesting. Then I searched on Yelp. When I called Luv Ur Nails, with all of its amazing reviews, I was warmed to talk to Sonia, who was kind, friendly, patient, and answered my questions. I immediately booked an appointment for the next day. I scheduled my usual no-chip polish change and a regular pedicure. When I went in, I was thrilled with the polish organisation and the simplicity of picking a colour out. I couldn't find the right shade of natural/nude (I'll wait while you judge me and laugh....) and Sonia allowed me to try on three different colours, including the one she suggested which turned out to be just what I wanted! While she was shaping my nails, I profusely apologised while I made certain requests and asked questions about her techniques. She told me, "it's ok, we're getting to know each other." THANK YOU! I recognise that I am probably one of the most irritating clients when it comes to these things but once I find a person I like and we get to know each other, I promise I'm not (too much) of a pain. One thing I greatly appreciate is that although I booked a manicure, Sonia mentioned that it didn't seem like I needed one, so we just a polish change. I'm grateful for the honest suggestion. Since yesterday, I've booked an appointment for my daughter, my grandmother, and my mother is keeping their information for when she needs a service. The service is great and they do pay attention to their customers. The prices are right too. The downside to this is that manicures last. For a no-chip manicure with the cat-eye design ($37) my mom's nail polish is already chipping off 5 days after the fact. For my gel full set with no chip polish and cat-eye design ($57) my nails are also chipping off with a few lumps around the edges. The fact that we paid so much just to have our nails last only a few days is disappointing. The plus to this salon is that Sonya's services are great but I don't know if we will be returning any time soon. read more

I have been coming here for about 6 months now after trying several Naperville area salons and I highly recommend this one! What I love most about this salon is that 1. Every employee is great at nails so whoever you get an appointment with, you know will do a good job 2. Everyone takes their time to perfect your nails, instead of rushing/doing bare minimum like I've seen at other salons and 3. There is not much if anything they can't do. I've had no chip manicures, dipped nails, regular polish manicures (all on acrylic and natural nails) all from here and they're all amazing. They are all great at shaping, hand-painted designs, rhinestone designs- I really can't say enough good and I've been to probably 20-30 salons through the years while moving around/on vacations, etc. and this one is definitely my fav!! Went into this place yesterday for a no chip manicure and I'm extremely disappointed. The polish around my cuticles is lumpy and I even have polish outside of my nails on my cuticles. I noticed this as I was checking out and asked the nail tech to fix it. She filed it down a little but it still looks awful. After being there for almost an hour and a half (for just a manicure) and being frustrated I didn't feel like sitting there any longer. Their credit card machine also didn't work. They had to run my card four different times. This apparently happens often to them (something about the phone line and the router being in the back of the building). I'm so disgusted with my manicure I plan to go elsewhere tonight to have it taken off and redone. I'm giving them two stars because the place is clean and updated, and everyone else seems to have a good experience. I must have gotten a new tech or something... read more

I have not had such a relaxing experience in a nail salon in quite sometime. The salon is small, but very clean, new and modern. An earlier review stated there was not much no-chip colors to choose from--all the nail colors here were presented to us as being no chip or regular nail color--hundreds to choose from! Love my nails! I needed to get my nails done for senior prom and wanted a full acrylic set in short coffin and definitely got what I wanted. I received so many compliments on them as well! It's been almost two weeks now and they still look amazing, and they've been through a lot (cooking in foods class, cleaning dishes almost daily, daily contact use, you name it)! Such a good color selection and we were able to find the exact color and design I was looking for. The lady doing my nails definitely took her time and double checked to make sure they were a good length for me. You can tell she cares about her customers as there were many regulars that showed up. She also made sure that my mom was comfortable and if they needed to close the blinds or anything while she was waiting. One thing to note is definitely give yourself time if you're gonna get your nails done. They take their time here, and my nails took roughly an hour and a half, but granted they were pretty busy on a tuesday evening. Not a problem for me, but just keep that in mind. Very calming and clean location, not abrasive on the application at all, very reasonable price ($30 because I added glitter), just overall a very good experience. I have been there a couple times and will definitely not return. I chalked the first time of being dissatisfied with the service to the nail tech's bad day. Unfortunately, I was even less satisfied with the second and final visit. First of all, their product must be VERY old because it begins to chip just a few days after the visit. The other thing that was extremely disappointing was Kim's lack of detail. She didn't even try to get to the edge of the nail, it was a strip of polish down the middle and bare nail around all the edges so they looked outgrown from day one. Also, my nails were filed crooked at the tips- some were not even close. I showed my friend my nails afterwards and She immediately said, "they are all crooked and the polish is so sloppy. What happened?!" I know it would be normal to miss a small spot somewhere but to do that on all the nails, that's a lack of effort and care. You could hold up my hand and someone with poor eyesight could see they were crooked. I found a nail salon down route 59 a little ways and it was SO much better. I did the $35 manicure and "spa pedicure" which she said was actually a classic pedicure. That is misleading since there is a spa pedicure on the board as well. The woman that did my pedicure was very nice and friendly. The girl that did my nails was ok but a little rough and cut my cuticles a little too much, there was some blood. The worst part was that the owner had a sour look on her face the entire time. Also made a few rude remarks to the woman doing my pedicure. It was uncomfortable and not appropriate to do in front of customers. I was disappointed. No place that I will be running back to. read more

I was having a nail emergency (if that's really a thing) when I was on a weekend get-a-way to Chicago and was looking for a clean and highly rated nail salon that I could stop in on my way to the city. The ladies were very nice and greeted me upon entering their salon and the quality of my shellac manicure was high. I am very disappointed in the quality of my dip manicure. When I've gotten dip or no chip manicures in the past, they typically last up to 3 weeks without chipping or peeling. My manicure lasted a week and a half before chips and cracks in the top coat. I'm giving 3 stars because I did go back and they fixed some of them for me but I don't think the initial application was done well. I did not have time the 2nd appointment for them to start from scratch so the just took off the top cracked coat and redipped but today (4 days after the 2nd appointment), 3 of my nails completely chipped off. They were all very nice but they actual manicure was not good. And the color samples for the dips were completely different than the actual color on my nails. read more

Got no chip done. Very satisfied with all the attention to detail and advice on how to grow out my nails. I work with box's all day and my hands get very dry, which also means my nail beds and cuticles are horrible and will hurt when its cold since it causes even more dryness.
