Happy that they had dry oil at the drying station complimentary. My technician was very gentle and took her time with my pedicure which was much appreciated. I got my nails done at Lux 88 yesterday and had a great experience! The salon was nice and had a variety of options. I did a Gel X french tip manicure ($85, cost $10 extra for french tip) and a regular pedicure. Both of the experiences were relaxing. The chairs you sit in during a pedicure are massage chairs which I love! The woman who did my nails (I think her name was Ying) was very nice and accommodating. I came pretty late and she stayed until 9:15pm to do my nails with no complaints -- thank you!! :) read more

WORST experience ever, walked in here yesterday for the first time to get an sns manicure. Nail tech Ana attended me she was horrible! I have skinny nails that were already square, she blobbed everything together made my fingers look like fat chicken nuggets with rounded ugly corners. However, I had a bad experience getting a dip gel manicure from a member of the staff who I don't think was experienced in doing them. She didn't soak my cuticles at all before pushing and cutting them, filed into my skin, and left the polish way too thick. It also took 1.5 hours. I feel bad leaving this review because the other customers getting the same type of manicure around me seemed to have a great experience, but I left feeling ripped off (literally and figuratively). I hardly ever leave reviews and certainly not bad ones, but I feel I need to let both this business and the potential customers know that I had a horrible pedicure here. It actually turned out fine in terms of the appearance, and I've had at least five normal experiences here, but the last time I visited, I was astonished at how hard the technician was digging into my toes. It was so painful and my toes continue to be tender days later. I won't be returning, and if you choose to get a mani or pedi here, make sure the tools are all sterilized and that you speak up if you're uncomfortable. I had to ask the technician to please stop digging and cutting my cuticles. Now I'm just praying I don't get an infection. read more

I was there on Jan.30 for a pedicure. my toe is still not healed. I paid extra for callus removal and she pulled out what looked like a kitchen tool and started scraping my foot. She over did it on my toe and it was bleeding and raw. They also charged me the same amount for my granddaughter and she did not get the callus removed. I found the staff to be professional and courteous, but most incredible was the powder gel manicure I received from June. . The time she took and effort put into delivering such an amazing manicure is truly not to be compared. She is a true artist, and I've never been more pleased. If you're looking for a top notch nail salon that delivers expert manicure/pedicure and massage you must try LUX 88 nail salon. Please report this nail salon. This place is a scam and unless you like to be charged a different amount than what was discussed while getting a pedicure/manicure. I came here once before and I was displeased with the service however I tried to look past that and try again since I live in the neighborhood. I should have stayed away after the first incident but the benefit of the doubt got me. Check this out, I got a pedicure special for $45 + tax. New York taxes is 8.875% added to the final bill which would add about $3-$4 + a tip, should be $55-$60 most. I wasn't aware that New York taxes were an additional made up $30. The woman told me it was $74 because of tax. There's no way the tax amounted up to $30 extra then she had the nerve to harass me about a tip as if that "tax" wasn't her tip. They then charged me an additional $5 for that. I ended up paying because I didn't want any issues at the time but I'm definitely reporting them, partially disputing the transaction and never returning again. Nice pedicure though but not worth someone thinking they can run game. read more
