I visited this salon for a manicure (no color) and pedicure earlier this afternoon after reading a few great Yelp reviews, but I was not impressed. I was greeted upon walking in, and they have a great color selection- I'll give them that. But the quality of service was really lacking. Flor, who did my nails, was not in the best mood for whatever reason, and her frustration was clear. It made for painful cuticle care and a messier job than I would've liked. My fingernails were not filed evenly, and my pedicure is "bubbly" and has already chipped! I was there only 6 hours ago. My services for the day came to $46. A simply fantastic nail salon on the UWS! I used to frequent another nail salon closer to me, but that placed closed and I needed another reliable place somewhat closer to me. Luckily, stumbled across this and now after having had their consistently great service with several visits, I can say undoubtedly that I love this nail salon! What I also love about them besides their impeccable nail work, color selection, and strong massages (as if those weren't enough!), is that they do a good job no matter what you are there for. This is why I always try to tip 25-30% (depending on the cash I remember to bring that day lol). The only opportunity for improvement I would recommend is to start carrying Zoya brand nail polishes. But otherwise, I'd still come back whenever I get lazy from my home manicures. read more

The space is bright, large & very very clean. The same lady that greeted me, helped me get my coat off, offered to hang my coat & helped me find the perfect gel color. I was looking for dark red. Maricela found the CND gel in color Oxford and it was perfect. She even let me try 3 different gel colors on her own nails. She also found a matching color for my pedicure in Essie Wicked. Pedicure: Maricela meticulously & gently cleaned my toes. She gave me foot scrub & paraffin wrap around my heels, LOVE! The massage chair was strong and really gives you a nice relaxing back massage. She applied the color to perfection! Gel Manicure: This is the best gel manicure I've ever had. I've tried many places in the city. Again, Maricela meticulously & gently cleaned my nails. She applied the gel thinly & evenly to perfection! Maricela is a Gel Manicure Pro! Very hard to find. My gel manicure looks amazing & natural! I found my new nail place. My mom and I were near 72nd street and in the mood for a relaxing manicure. We yelped (obviously) and found Nail by Young. My mom was, at first, a little weirded out that the nail salon was not on the first floor but rather located in a small building and up a flight of stairs. However, I convinced her to give it a try and we were happily shocked when we got upstairs to the salon! The salon is bright and extremely clean. In addition, it is decorated beautifully with many plants that gave it a jungle or tree house feel. They played soothing classical music, too. I could have closed my eyes and taken a nap easily! But onto the manicure...all of the staff was extremely friendly and the woman who did my nails did a fast but thorough job. I was very pleased with it. They also have a fantastic selection of polish colors and all of the bottles looked relatively new and full (rather than at some other places I've been where the polish is old and then subsequently easily chips). There were many women in the salon when we went even though it was an off hour so be prepared to possibly have to wait for a short while, but in my opinion this was a good sign that they have many loyal customers! read more
