I was looking for a new hairstylist around the area and found Max Akimoto based on location. Before scheduling an appointment, I had to research about his work since he didn't much have reviews yet in this salon. It turns out he used to work at the forum salon but that closed down. I browsed through the reviews in his old salon and decided to give him a try. I first tried to do a walk-in a few days ago but he told me he was fully booked on that day. I ended up making an appointment a few days afterwards. (As a tip, it's better to make an appointment because his schedule gets pretty booked quickly. When he was working on my hair, he probably received 4-5 phone calls just wanting to know when his latest availabilities are) On the day of my appointment, he asked me some styles that I want. I showed him few photos from Pinterest. He looked at all the photos and suggested to me what would look good for me and my face shape as far as haircut and color/highlights go. We agreed on a haircut style and I also added highlights to my hair. I'm very happy about the outcome of my hair. I wanted a long blunt bob/lob and I got exactly what I Was looking for. The highlights he did made me look like a few years younger. He's also very nice and we even ended up chatting about our families and traveling. I'm very happy that I found my go-to stylist. My experience was amazing. The service was amazing and my pedicure was actually the best one I've ever received. I forgot my wallet and a regular guest paid for my service while I was able to venmo her. The ladies that worked there were so cool and calm about them entire situation and so friendly. They told me not to feel bad and they all understood things happen. The place uses lined plastic for their pedicure tubs (to prevent fungus), is very clean. The staff is friendly, and my go to ladies are Lu Anne, and Lee for my pedicures ( she's the bomb!). i gave them a try because of reviews & because they are near my office... i went for a gel manicure and the lady that did it (did not get her name) did a really messy job... i kept telling her to cut my nails evenly, she kept going back to file & cut because they were not even... and then when she polished them she got nail polish on my cuticles & it was not cleaned off, for the price i paid ($29 plus tip) i should not have to file them down myself after they were done! needless to say i will not be coming back - i would rather pay more or drive further for a decent job. read more

I LOVE Brenda! She has many years experience as a professional waxer. She is AMAZING!!! I go to her for waxing! She takes her time, doesn't try and cover more hair with one strip, which I appreciate. She even said she could get me any wax that I wanted. She waxed my full leg, brazillian, underarm, and eyebrows! She is a professional above and beyond. She used to work down by the beach she said, so she's done all the waxing you can imagine. This is a new local salon in the pasadena area I recommend it 100%. I have been waxed by many people in the past at many different businesses, and Brenda is the best. She will take good care of you, and adjust to whatever you need. Went in for a pedicure, and will never return. I didn't catch the woman's name who did my pedicure...she was friendly enough, but very unskilled. She made two of my toes bleed! I happened to spot this nail spa out of the corner of my eye while driving down the street. When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was brand new and very clean! I was greeted with huge smiles and excitement! The ladies were so lovely and welcoming! I was given a complimentary water bottle and was seated immediately. I LOVE how they line their foot spas with liners! No chance of getting an infection or fungus here! All the utensils are sterilized and they are very detailed. I've never had such pretty feet before! They made my toes beautiful! Another thing about this spa is that they don't have nail polish bottles lining the walls, you pick from nail samples that are painted. They didn't have the exact pink I wanted but I settled for a peachy pink nail instead. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Came in because I had just recently had my nails filled elsewhere and noticed lifting but was told it was ok. I came to la beaute because I was visiting my mom who lives very close and I wanted a second opinion on the lifting. "Ten" agreed that there was lifting on almost all of the nails. So she fixed all of them for me- I noticed she really was very attentive to each nail and took her time with them. They look really good now and will definitely be a regular here !!!! read more
