I really enjoyed my first visit to Lux Nails Spa. It's located in the same shopping center as the Cajun restaurant, near the ABC store. Judy was pleasant and efficient. I think the price for the dip powder was a great deal and I'll be back. I deducted one star because I wish the color swatch was in numerical order. I will never return to this establishment again. The first time I went, I had a pretty good experience. The second time I went, customer service was awful, I felt rushed, and I a few days later I developed a terrible infection on one of my fingers. I know it was from the SNS dip powder. The SNS is really pretty and last for a while, but the way the process is, is really disgusting now that I think about it. You are dipping your finger into a powder that a lot of other people dip their fingers into. This eventually becomes a petri dish for bacteria. They should pour a little bit of powder into a container for each customer. 3 weeks and 3 antibiotics later, I am still hurting. read more

I have been going here for about three months and really like the pedicures provided by Nancy. I arrived for my appointment today and was told there would be a 20-minute wait and to go have a drink somewhere. I declined and said I would just wait. I then watched Nancy finish a pedicure and move to another chair to START a new pedicure. I would have been waiting for no less than 45 minutes for my service. I understand that the unexpected can happen; however if I have an appointment I expect to be seen at that time or the manager to have the courtesy to call and ask if I can come an hour later. Came for a deluxe pedi and a mani, you would think your deluxe service would be a little more hands on and at least 2-3 minutes of massage. Sugar scrub was slapped on with no force took about 50 sec on both legs. Actual massage lasted 1 minute on both legs with little or no kind of effort. Disappointed. Toe nails were longer than the other. Paint was uneven, top coat didn't cover my entire toe nail. She painted on my skin, fyi color chips faster when it's on your cuticle. So I made her clean it up. Tech messed my pinky toe up & instead, she slapped more color on when it was already wrinkled upon messing up. She didn't put on top coat after. I had to reshape my toes the best I could because they were longer than other. Too short on some but longer on others. Over all, different lengths and shapes. I've wasted my money. Idk her name, but it was the older lady that did my service. Seems like it was my nail tech that just didn't seem like she cares to make efforts in the service. read more

Fast forward: my first SNS set lasted 3 1/2+ weeks without chipping or anything, even went out of the country for a week, moved into a new place and they still looked good! I went a week and a half ago to get them redone and my SNS polish already had large chunks chipping off only one week later! The polish had also become rough with ridges and thinner in many areas on my nails. I went in to ask why this was happening so soon and was told that SNS "just varies so you get what you get. Sometimes it'll last over 3 weeks and still look good while others will last around 1 week before they start to begin looking poorly." I was told there was nothing they could do. The reason I returned to Lux was for the consistency and quality manicure I had experienced my first visit. I don't enjoy spending almost $40 on my manicure just for it to begin deteriorating after a single week. There are too many salons around town for me to spend my money at one such as Lux. Came in after having a great gel mani a few weeks ago by the younger gentleman. Today was a disappointment. The very young girl who worked on my nails seemed to rush through barely paying any attention to what she was doing. Cut my skin while buffing it, she wasn't even looking at my hands while she buffed away. I told her square, straight across and I had to check after her on each nail and tell her to make her crooked lines straight. And then to top it off she sloppily applied the gel all over my nails unevenly and all over my skin. I just got done picking off the gel on my skin. And I decided to walk back in to show... I assume the owner... The low quality paint job she did... It is extremely thick on the tips of my nails and so it isn't sleek like a nail tip should be instead it's bubble shaped off my nail... And because of the difference in thickness across the nail, each section of the nail gradually is a darker shade. The lady who I addressed this too, said oh no she did perfect. This is a business.... If you want people to keep coming back and spreading good word, first of all you need to have good customer service. Customer is always right. I don't come in to a salon wishing to have my nails done how you think looks good. I come in to have what I would like and think looks good!! The girl did a poor job. And now everyone will know. The lady could have offered someone to repair them but instead she defended the girl who shouldn't be doing nails... Which leads to this "nail spa" getting a bad review on here.. Yelp.. Google... What a treat! I called and made an appt 5 minutes before I arrived, which was within an hour of closing. I was welcomed with a comfortable chair with an excellent massager. They offered a red or white wine. The chilled glass was a nice touch. I was so relaxed I spilled said glass of wine all over floor. Ann graciously cleaned up my mess while her friendly co-worker replaced the wine immediately. I opted for the Organic Spa Pedicure and basic manicure with buff, plus an eyebrow wax. Total $63 for all 3 treatments, lasting an hour. Judy stayed past 7 PM, their closing time to wax my eyebrows. Most gentle wax experience I can remember. Start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lux Salon. You will notice the cleanliness and Ann and Judy will spoil you. read more

Stopped by this morning for a pedicure. They did a great job. It was a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

I went into have a gel manicure and pedicure this past weekend. The tech that did my nails did not listen to a word I said. I told her she didn't paint one of my toe nails as dark as the rest. She said she didn't see it but I could.... so at least make an attempt!! Then she started with my nails, painted an extra coat on my right hand so the nails on my right hands are darker than the left and she put entirely wayyy too much top coat on the right. My nails look deformed and have bumps: I confronted her and she said that's just the shape of my nail. I think I know the shape of my own nails. Especially since the left hand's nails look completely different than the right because she coated them all messed up. Again, she ignored me. She dug her finger nails into my fingers the entire time and it was super painful. I would pull away and tell her she was hurting me and she would just tell me to stop moving. So anyway, I was stuck paying 65 dollars for nails I am completely NOT satisfied with. DO NOT GO HERE. They could careless about their customers. read more
