I've been coming to Luxe nail salon regularly for about six months now. I've tried a ton of nail salons in Old Town but Luxe is consistently amazing. They stay true to their appointment time, which is a huge plus. I've received services from both Ken and Helen. The space isn't very large and everyone keeps to themselves, so it's a great space to finish that podcast! I can only vouch for their basic mani/pedi and gel manicure. Decided to get a Mani- Pedi last second and they were able to squeeze me in. I've never been to the spot before. It's right by the CVS on a busy street but there's parking around. Dora took care of me. I think most people well understand when I say the pedicure was so neat! I was having a bit of trouble deciding which color and Dora did a few swatches on my toenails to help me be sure. I randomly stopped in for a dip overlay because I'm still trying to find a "salon home"...walked in, the salon was clean and they were able to take me immediately. The techs were polite, did a nice job, and I was pleased with the outcome...initially. I went to the salon about a week and a half ago (2/12 to be exact) and one of my nails is already chipped and the paint is coming off. The reason I went to get an overlay is so it would last, at least 2 weeks. Paying $57 is way too much for it not to last. Maybe it was a fluke, but don't think I'll be returning. I went for a mani-pedi today and am a repeat customer. The technician today cut me twice -once on each big toe. She attempted to stop the small amount of blood by dipping and re-dipping a brush into a blue liquid that is probably used for all customers. Worrisome the health issue's with that ! This was not a single use jar. She also dropped and spilled the polish I brought. The pedicure went on for an hour and 15 minutes. She clearly was new and was not supervised at all. I understand we all need to learn new skills. I asked for a different technician to complete the remainder of my service. However they need to keep an eye on what is happening with their customers. read more

I was looking for a good nail salon in the old town area and decided to try Luxe Nails after reading the great reviews. The stylist who was assigned to me was running late and forgot to add a top coat to my toe nails, which I didn't even mention, because... It happens. And then she did my manicure...I just wanted a plain old manicure with a light nail polish. She did a pretty bad job shaping my nails and I had to ask her to do them again. I've got age-related vertical ridges on my nails. She didn't buff my nails at all and so when she applied the nail polish there were horrible streaks down my nails. She kept adding thicker and thicker coats to try to cover them up. I finally told her to remove it and left without any nail polish. She apologized and said she had another client waiting for her! I am very, very picky and anytime I am not satisfied with my nails (which rarely happens) they are happy to fix it at no charge. My favorite nail techs are Anne and Ti, but Dara is also very good. Lee is fantastic! She took her sweet time with my pedicure, getting all of my cuticles and making sure my toes were perfect. Same for my gel manicure. She didn't love how my thumbs turned out, so instead of just sending me out the door, she redid them without any prompting from me. I don't even know what was wrong with them. I have thin eyebrows that just don't grow much. It's HARD to find someone who can do them with a proper arch, considering they don't have a lot to work with. She waxed them beautifully without pain. Kelly the owner is amazing and followed up personally on my previous review and we actually talked in person. She understood my concerns and met with staff to ensure all COVID safety protocols are followed! There have been literally no issues/concerns since my previous review . Luxe nails truly cares about its clients and one of the cleanest nail salons you will find in the area even pre-COVID especially with sanitation of tools.
