I was really excited to find a salon close by that carried dazzle dry but unfortunately won't be back. I had my nails done on Saturday midday and almost every nail was chipped within 12 hours of leaving the salon. Dazzle dry is designed to last around 10 days and when I do it at home I can usually get around 2 weeks out of a manicure. I can't recommend this place after paying $100 for a bad manicure that chipped immediately. read more

Went for a gel dip mani and hot stone massage pedicure. The new salon at 1064 North Fayette St. Has free indoor parking. The salon is beautiful, spotlessly clean. The pedi chair has a built in charger for phones. Ask to have the lights on in the foot bath! The massage and pedi were heavenly. The gel dip was beautiful and not aggressive with the file. This was an impulse walk in for me. I opted for a mani and pedi but decided to go with the gel polish for both. The pricing was not made clear and the service was sub par. All thru the technician was quiet speaking only to colleague and I was not informed that pricing for gel was different... They didnt even put any lotion for the hands and the french manicure was horrible. Total mess up. If I could give a negative star I would. It was that bad. do NOT get your hair done here. Unprofessional from start to finish and she botched my hair. The owner did my hair and was 30 min late to start my appointment. I told her what I wanted and showed pictures. She started out doing the wrong thing and I had to correct her. She put about 12-15 foils in my hair total of just straight bleach. The pieces turned out brassy/ orange when everything was said and done. I asked for a light brown. She blamed me for not picking the right color. She then cut my hair. This was fine. But then charged me 245 dollars for hardly any service and I told her how unhappy I was the entire time. She told me my hair cut was 85. That's OUTRAGEOUS. She's a scam artist and knows it. I'm completely dissatisfied and left with anxiety about my orange hair. I wanted a partial refund as I felt this is unacceptable for what was done to my hair. She knew how unhappy I was during the entire process and didn't care. And she thinks as the business owner this is acceptable. read more

Had a powder dip manicure and regular pedicure. The quality of work was very good. But the nail technician hardly spoke and didn't care that the massage chair didn't work. For over $100 I would expect the technician to move chairs to a working one and use words instead of acting like it was just a big hassle for her to do my nails. read more

Stopped in and asked if there was an available appointment and there was that very Saturday afternoon. Had a root touch up with foil highlights (done in one process), plus a cut. Turned out pretty good! Kate was very meticulous and cut wet and cleaned up pieces dry. Should have asked the price, because it was $310. That's just too much, even for Old Town. She really takes her time insuring quality work before she lets you leave her salon. This is a full service salon, offering cuts, coloring, nail care, facials, massage as well as permanent lashes and microblading for brows. The atmosphere is soft and very pleasant and the salon is spotlessly clean. Went in for a cut and perm. Kate was the stylist (and apparently the owner). Cut was fine. The perm however was a different story. Sat an hour and a half in the chair to get it rolled.Kate opened the perm bottle and was surprised at how thick the solution was. Turns out it was some bizarre Korean brand that she had never used before so I was basically a guinea pig. She set timers but ignored them. Rinsed the neutralizer out too soon. Took the rollers out at the shampoo sink and then proceeded to shampoo my hair. I asked her what she was doing since I know you can't shampoo for 2 days after a perm and she got really angry that I was questioning her. My hair was as straight as it was when I walked in. She didn't apologize. She had the nerve to say it was my fault because I panicked, implying that I was making her so nervous that she messed up. She has NO idea what she's doing. I left and didn't pay her a cent. She wanted me to come back to have it done again. Over my dead body. Who knows what would happen on round 2. The only nice thing I can say is that if you're willing to roll the dice, just go for a simple cut. Anything more complicated that is beyond her capabilities. read more
