Let me start off by saying the handful of times I've come in to this salon, I have had such an amazing experience followed by an impeccable job done by Cici... To start off, I work at a Cosmetology school where I am able to get my nails done regularly but have been so busy with work that I haven't had a chance to let one of our students practice on me recently. I needed to get my nails done before a wedding this weekend and after working a long shift and searching for a salon that would be open late, Luxurious Nails was the only place that was open and after reading a few reviews I decided to check them out. It was 6:30 when I walked in and I was instantly greeted and asked what I would like. Upon telling them I wanted a full set they said to have a seat and it would be a few minutes. There were two ladies ahead of me waiting so I didn't mind, and I was started shortly after. The nail technician who worked on me was extremely fast and professional, she upgraded me to Gel and when I asked if it was Shellac she showed me the choices (having worked in a salon I know quality products and was ecstatic to see that they use CND Shellac!). She also stated that they close at 7 but try to accommodate every client that comes in until then, I left at 7:40 feeling incredibly satisfied! I absolutely love my oval shaped nails by T and I will definitely be back to see her again! Total cost for my set was $17 for the acrylic + $3 for oval shape and $13 additional for Shellac. $33 for a beautiful full set! Thank you! read more

I was hesitant about returning as I had two terrible experiences at their older location near 7th street in the past. Should've stuck with my gut feeling. Went in, only because my mom likes one of the ladies who does her pedicures and I went along. Saturday afternoon about 430 and nobody was in here besides us two. Sat down right away for two pedicures. No complaints about my pedicure, job well done. Got a full set while I was here to save time in going to see my regular tech @ nail lounge of chula Vista. T was rushing although nobody was in there. Come to find out because she was expecting appointments soon and "I wasn't a regular of hers so she does fast for me." Requested coffin shape as I always do, the acrylic lay was too thick. Asked her to thin it out for me a bit. The shape wasn't even on a couple of my nails and she could tell they were bothering me as she mentioned she fixed them. She was moving so fast the drill kept hitting my finger and burning me. MY BIGGEST ISSUE....I got the matching gel color with the toes. When I walked out of the salon, my nail color matched my toes. The next morning I woke up and my nail color is now a nasty brown. Of course, Sundays they are closed so I couldn't return. Returned Monday requesting a refund and they refused. Told me they didn't know what happened and how my nails changed a complete different color overnight. Tried their best to convince me that they will change my toes and finger color for free. Begged and begged to let me "change color really quick." The fact that they rush their work is upsetting in itself. Continuously refused a refund and begged me to make an appt for a color change. I told T at that point I wanted to take off my nails & go to my normal location I ended up leaving. This is the first time I've ever had to ask for a refund at any salon. Worst first experience. The owner juggled a 20 minute phone on her cell phone (on speaker.. in a shouting voice), while also picking up the company phone, and tried to squeeze someone else while in the process of doing my nails. This is after I made an appointment, and let her know my time restraints. She was so distracted and going at 100 miles per hour that she cut me, and did a crappy paint job. she painted deep into my cuticles and on my fingers. I was so disappointed. I've lived in IB for several years, and didn't know about this place until I googled nail shops in/near IB after my go-to place was too busy for walk-ins one Saturday. Let me tell you, I am SO glad to have found this little gem and frankly disappointed that I hadn't found them sooner. Their prices beat most in town and every nail tech is friendly, kind and talented. Jack is my favorite for pedicures, he's gentle and meticulous and really takes his time. Very nice staff. I showed the lady a picture what I wanted they didn't have the color I wanted but she put 2 coats of 2 colors and it was the same color I wanted! ! I got exactly what I wanted. Since I was visiting my grandparents in the area I decided to come here since it was close. I came in really close to closing time so I asked if they had time for a fill and glitter tips and they said yes. I was appreciative since they took me in, BUT I should of just waited to the next day because she was going so damn fast. I hate when nail technicians rush on your nails I feel like if I'm paying you, you should take your time and do a good job. As I was examining my nails before she put the clear polish on she told me to hurry up and give her my hand I said did you just tell me to hurry up? And she said do you know what time it is? I told her that her comment was incredibly rude and that you should NEVER tell a customer to hurry up IM PAYING YOU NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. So what if it was late they decided to take me in so they knew they were not going to get out on time. I was so mad because I had already given her a tip when she didn't deserve it all! Plus she had cut my finger slightly cause she was going so fast with the nail tool which caused me to bleed a little when I told her she just laughed it off like it was no big deal. My nails came out okay.... But I definitely had better. Prices are okay, the nail shop itself is nothing special, the owner who is a man was nice, my nail tech name is T her customer service was horrible. I love the owners and workers because they're so friendly, but I don't think I'll be coming back anymore. My manis/pedis have gotten sloppy, I was a bridesmaid for a wedding and wanted a mani/pedi with matching french tip. They were close to closing so they did french tip on my feet but when it came time to do my hands, they said it would look cuter anyways as a solid color. I knew that they just wanted to close. So come wedding time I wasn't as polished as I should've been, because I had mismatched colored hands and feet. I kept it at a 3-star because they are still clean, friendly, priced fair and majority of the time they do a good job. read more

Do not go here please ! I went for a nail removal and one of the workers was putting lots of pressure on my nails WHICH HURT! The lady tried removing my nails with a French tip and also with her OWN NAILS I told her to stop and still continued she also brought a bowl of full acetone which was making my nails burn, that's when I decided to leave.... read more

Tried this place today based on the above review. I agree it doesn't look nice on the outside and I wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't read about it here. Also agree it seems clean inside. But as far as the mani/pedi...I don't think this is going to be my new regular spot. My toes look good, but I was unimpressed by the manicure especially after the woman cut my cuticle till it bled. I think she must need glasses or something, as the polish (I only got clear) isn't even applied all over my nails and is also on my fingers. I've experienced better and I think I'll keep looking for a new spot. read more

Overcrowded, no communication about wait times. I needed a fill for my acrylics, waited 45 minutes and they look horrible. I can see bubbles throughout my nails and a crack never got fixed in one of them. Two different people worked on me and the lady was almost violent with filing and was on the phone the whole time. Thankful I didn't get a pedicure because i watched them rinse out the tubs with water and no cleanser before the next person came in. They did cute polish on my daughters, but we will never go back there. read more

We went back to have the messed up nails fixed, it was the french tip acrylic nails my gf got, they were cloudy and looked like crap. The only thing they would do was put polish on the nails, so that's what the gf did, but of course you could see the white tips under the blue.. Crap service and then they ailed to fix their mistake..... T and Steve are the owners and main nail techs. Laurie is the main pedicure person. Steve also jumps in and does pedicures and T is the one who does the waxing. I have been going here for at least 4 years and have never seen better quality work. Once you become a regular they start getting to know you more and more and remember stuff that you'd been talking about that I'd long since forgotten. And notice when you're missing. And all of that is not easy, because I'm horribly introverted. For best results at ANY nail salon. Make an appointment, don't be rude; treat them with respect, tell them what you want as you walk in and as you sit down if it's two different people, don't walk in close to closing time and lastly... tip well. read more

Maybe the trick here is that you have to make an appt. If not, then they stick you with the lady that has no clue what she's doing. I've never had a such terrible looking nails. I was so embarrassed. They were overly thick, uneven in the thickness, and bumpy. I'm glad to hear so many other people liked them but I won't be going back. read more

One lady started me, drilled all my nails & left me sitting there waiting for another lady for almost 25 mins. I have had the same manicurist for the last 10 years. New to SD, I have been looking for someone just as talented to be loyal to here. This is not the place. My pedicure was pleasant--the place was clean enough, the staff was pleasant, the spa chairs were nice but the skills of the manicurists here are not up to par. I expect to get what I pay for and I could have done better myself. My pedicures normally last three weeks. This one was chipping in three days. I don't like or need my cuticles cut and I let it be known before we started. She still attempted to clip away. I also like my nails squared off which was somewhat of a challenge. If you have to get certified to do something, such as be a manicurist, this should be a simple, mastered task...Keep looking. read more

Horrible service ever!!! I've been in a couple times and yes they work quickly sometimes especially Fridays I get it. But this time I was over rushed ,over charged and the lady who usually answers the phone was extremely ruff. And because she didn't like that I asked her to clean the nail polish off my fingers ( not nails) I think is why she over charged me . She figured I wasn't gonna tip I guess. Last time I went in I got LONG and I mean long COFFIN shape nails. I was charged$37 that time. And this time their shorter way shorter tell me why it was $47?!?! Ridiculous. Pulling my hands.
